Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services
Mission: Provides assistance to native americans on the navajo nation.
Programs: 2017 success community outreach and volunteering o sheep shearing with teens at a local ranch with dine college land grant o volunteering with navajoyes during asaayi lake and navajo code talker run, aid station o volunteer at local elders, repair and yard work community events o earth day, planted fruit trees and trash clean up o thanksgiving potluck, 50 plus community members attended, acknowledged local outstanding participants(asp/rt) and parents. O toy donations to 35 asp participants o halloween party- 50+ people attended our fun fall festival. We had a costume contest for ages 0-6, 7-12, 13-17, 18+. We also have mini games going and a cake walk. After school program 2017 o average of 23 students a day since august 2017. O our enrichment/homework rotation is still going very well since starting it back in august 2017. We have had an average of 8 students a day do their homework. O the rest of the students who do not have homework on a daily basis still get some type of enrichment learning by reading in the library. O another enrichment rotation we included in asp is our stem activities. Students enhance their critical thinking in these activities. Rez teens o lock-in activity for teens june 23 (17 participants) december 15 (16 participants) community outreach program began december 2017 wilderness program o trips wemuniche, 2 returning participants, 4 new. Grand canyon 2 returning and 3 new participants. Telluride 3 returning and 3 new participants.
