Mission: The mission of the rex dobson ruby ellen farm is to use its natural and cultural resources to educate and inspire stewardship, self-sufficiency, and balanced relationships with nature and our community.
Programs: The organization provided maintanance to the landscape, structures and relics of the ruby ellen farm. Buildings were extensively examined to determine priority repairs, and the barn foundation rehabilitation continued with a hands-on workshop of 15 paid participants, facilitated in partnership with the michigan barn preservation network. The organization continues the process of cleaning, sorting and documenting the antiques and artifacts of the farm.
the annual community falltime gathering brought 150 people to the farm for celebration and education.
the annual plowday attracted 300 attendees to the farm to learn about and watch seven horse-team drawn plows work.
