I applied to Restoration Of Hope Project while incarcerated in the Missouri department of corrections, not only did I need help with my substance abuse disease, I also needed to know how to re-enter society in a positive and productive way. They picked me up from the grey hound upon my release, took me straight to their office and got me on my path right away from day one it was a positive experience. I had nothing to my name when i got there. They were so welcoming and helpful I was immediately taken to their pantry that is stocked by donations and given not only clothing but food and hygiene to get me started along with support that I had never experienced before. I truly believe that they believed in me and saw what I could not see until I did. RHP did not change my life I did that, but i could not or would not have done with out them. They gave me all the skills and opportunity i needed to able to reach my full potential.
RHP helped me realize that change is possible in my life. I never thought I would be able to turn my life around and be a better father and man. This place has given me the courage to move forward and accept my past and give it back to others. The staff is patient and kind and became a second family to me.
Went into this place with a positive attitude and upfront with the gentleman at the desk that I would probably be positive for THC. (I got to the house which is jammed backed with men. Literally crawling on top of each other. ) anyways the tested me at the house and I was clean except for my medication subutex. I was for 2 days and the house got fuller 3 men in a room. Manager eluded on Sunday they would be trying to weed people out. So they started drug testing/ BAC and seaching (more like tearing apart my stuff.) They find this travel size soap bottle and tried to tell it's used for fake urine....(whatever) so Kate dismissed me at 10:30pm. They refused to smell the soap and made their final judgement then. Went to the office to talk to Kate and personally not a good impression on her part. I asked for a refund at that point and she refused. So they are not interested in helping people in recovery, it became clear its all about the money for this place. Taking advantage of people in recovery and that's one of the worst things you can do to a person in recovery. When profits mean more than helping your fellow man or woman it's sad affair. Karma will get them and they don't have the best reputation in Springfield at the moment. SRCC had warned me about this before I moved in. Didn't think it could be that bad at first, but it is terrible! All these hidden fees and percentages. It's a money making profit company for sure. Just beware before they scam you too.
Deciding to become a client at RHP has been the best decision I have ever made . I was looking at prison time and ruined my relationship with my family. RHP helped provide the tools necessary for me to finally break the cycle that I was in I was able to get probation and my family trust me again and highly recommend RHP to anyone looking to seek help in recovery and mental health
RHP helped me so much. I did not make it easy at first mainly because I was scared of change. They worked with me even when I failed over and over. They were there when I got my act together! Thanks to you guys for believing in me!
This organization gave me a chance when no one else would. They literally showed me love when I probably did not deserve any! I had burned all of my family relationships. So thank you for helping get my life back!
I came to RHP 14 months ago and they have provided the resources and tools I need to maintain a quality life and maintain sobriety. I have attended classes and one on one counseling that has given me good direction on my journey!
I went to restoration of hope after being on the street for 3 months. The last program I was in had dismissed me for relapsing. After finding my way into the office I've never been surrounded by so many caring people that had genuine concern for my well-being. They did not just help me and teach me how to help myself but after 2 years of sobriety they've allowed me to stick around and try to help others I do not know where I would be at today without them in my life they went from being my teacher's executive program director housing directors to being my family. I am proud to be a part of a program that is trying to do so much for the people out there that are suffering. I can speak from experience that when I was out there homeless on the street all I ever really wanted to know is that someone cared. They have done so much for me More than I can honestly put into words in such a small space on a website. After being an addict for over 20 years to anything that I can get my hands-on I finally with their help I've got my life back. This was the first sober living program I've ever been in that was not asking me to be perfect they just asked me to try to put my best foot forward. With their guidance I have found my happily ever after I no longer have to worry about what I'm gonna eat every night where am I gonna be safe to sleep How am I gonna afford my next fix what dangerous situation am I going to put myself in so that I can get high. I get to wake up everyday in my safe environment and be thankful for the opportunities afforded to me. Thank you to all the staff up there I know that you guys get a 100 calls everyday and in anybone moment are pulled in 50 different directions. And with all that going on I couldn't walk in there and ask to speak with someand you will make time to actually sit down with me and Hear what I have to say. Thank You for all that all of you do have a great day
I am thankful to this program! They actually care and demonstrate it by not dropping you because you have a relapse or cannot be perfect! They work with you and have understanding! I don’t know where I would be without them!
I came to RHP originally for counseling. I was later ordered by the court to attend their housing program. This program first and foremost kept me from going to prison. They then supported me and gave me the tools to find recovery and complete the program. I appreciate what they did for me.
I came to Restoration of Hope straight out of prison. I have been in many sober living/rehabs before but this one seems to care the most. I like that it is a secular program where everyone is free to follow their own belief system. They also offer counseling provided by a licensed counselor and it's included in the cost of housing. This really saves you a lot of money with it being included in the housing cost and not having to find it somewhere else. They also have a food pantry and a clothing closet for people just arriving who do not have the things they need. I would definantly recommend Restoration of Hope to anyone wanting to change their lives!
Horrible program ran by a horrible staff. If you're looking into a recovery program, I recommend you look into other options.
I have been working with the Restoration of Hope Project for about a year. After going through a DIFFERENT sober living program, I realized that sober living is an unmonitored area of business and some programs care more than others. Restoration of Hope Project has an amazing staff who genuinely care about the clients. RHP is selective and we pride ourselves with not being a 'bed and breakfast'. RHP is also secular in nature. Spirituality is a personal journey that is encouraged with our clients but not required. We offer treatment (counseling, therapy, classes, support groups, life skills, BIP, Coping with Anger, CPS Services) and so much more! We have a clothing bank free to our clients as well as making sure they have toiletries and bus passes to make it easier to focus on the deeper issues one might be facing. RHP has supported me throughout my own recovery and I am fortunate enough to be able to work in this field and help others who are struggling, others who have tried other programs and was treated with little dignity or respect. We are here to RESTORE HOPE!
