Mission: The Research Libraries Group, Inc. (RLG) is a not-for-profit membership corporation of university libraries, research libraries, archives, historical societies, museums, and institutions with a mission to provide access to information that supports research and learning. Members engage in collaborative problem-solving, participate in a set of ongoing programs, and develop new initiatives to enhance access to research information.
Programs: The collection, organization, preservation, and provision of information necessary to education and scholarship. RLG's automated information systems are a combination of databases and related software, developed to support RLG's cooperative programs. They include the Research Libraries Information Network (RLIN), the Citadel Citations files, the Eureka and Zephyr search services, and the Ariel Document Transmission System. These are used worldwide to service the materials processing and public services at both RLG members and non-members, totaling more than 10,000 institutions.
