The directors at RPM are extremely heartless when it comes to others and see to but money before everything else. I was so disappointed after a conversation with a higher up at this organization where they belittled me and showed their true colors.
The whole concept of this rescue charity totally works! Take the supply to the demand! This helps those larger dogs find homes in cooler climates where they are loved and can have an outdoor lifestyle. Everyone I meet when volunteering is over the top dedicated to making this work even when confronted with disasters like our latest storm! Keep up the fantastic work!
Rpm has saved thousands of cats and dogs that were at risk of being euthanized in Houston. The RPM team works tirelessly to find foster homes and then send the animals out of state to be adopted. As a cat foster- I see how caring and committed the staff is to their mission.
I’ve fostered dogs through RPM many times and they’re my favorite rescue in Houston! They are doing amazing things for the stray crisis here. Will forever support them.
RPM has been one of the most incredible animal rescues I've ever worked with. They're incredibly transparent about their process, they are helpful and kind. Between strong systems of communication, plentiful resources, consistent support, and even volunteer appreciation and acknowledgement, I've never felt more passionate about a rescue.
I have fostered two dogs for RPM and intend to foster many more. The staff there is always available and always helpful and concerned if you have a foster in need of anything. Any concerns they are happy to have you come into clinic to have your foster checked .. they really care about the animals in their care … RPM is a top notch organization.
The people I’ve interacted with at RPM have been very kind hearted. They are truly committed to making Houston better and helping save animals. It’s incredible to learn how many they save. I’m so impressed with this organization and the difference they are making through kind volunteers, donations and hard work.
I started to foster for RPM just a few months ago, and in that short time they have set 17 cats I have fostered for them on the path to a better future.
It seemed very difficult to help cats in Houston with the overcrowding in the shelters, but RPM has found a great way to do it and it is a pleasure helping them.

I have been working with the rescue for a year. They do a great job of pulling as many animals as possible, working with my schedule on appointments, getting me all the supplies I need, and staff is very friendly. It’s a great mission!
I have been a volunteer with RPM since they were founded a decade ago. I’ve never met a rescue team and staff more dedicated to saving lives. They truly are deserving of 5 stars! If they had 6 stars I’d give it.
This group rescues dogs and cats from public shelters and places them with temporary fosters in Houston until they can be readied for transport to other areas of the country that have more potential adoptive families. They have saved tens of thousands of animals from euthanasia and sent them on to better lives. They are absolutely a great charity
I have been fostering with this organization since opening in 2013. It’s truly amazing the volume of animals that have been saved. I have fostered 755 puppies with this organization and will continue. They try and make the fostering with a person so easy providing medical, food, crates, piddle pads etc. also they work with the foster on times and type of animal they wish to foster.
I have been working with RPM as a volunteer for approximately two weeks now but was familiar with their work for several years now as they have been instrumental in helping many of the animals I have found since moving here. They are a very well staffed and agile rescue and walk the line perfectly of being approachable and helpful and having protocols and procedures in place for everyone’s safety (and sanity). I cannot say enough good things about the amazing folks at RPM or how much I am loving my time with them.
Every person who works at RPM, truly care about each and every animal they are helping. They work together as a team and do all in their power to ensure all animals in their care, have the best opportunities for a new loving forever home. The drivers go that extra mile to transport all animals safely to their new lives.

there are not adequate words to express how amazing RPM is. I have been a kitty foster for over 5 years. They are not just a rescue but a family. I have had sick kittens needing daily treatments and clinic staff have met me on Thanksgiving and Christmas one year, Here is a pic of one of my first babies- Echo with a friend..
I absolutely love helping this rescue. I currently help foster for this organization and they truly go above and beyond for volunteers and fosters. They stay in constant communication. Help constantly when we have questions or concerns. Some of the dogs I have helped foster with this organization.
My husband and I started fostering for RPM in 2020 and since then have fostered over 700 RPM animals. We always feel like our time is so well used and we are extremely grateful for the medical care provided to the fosters. We have had some fosters with critical medical issues (i.e. parvo, distemper, URIs, GI issues, very heavy parasite loads, malnutrition, etc.) and RPM has provided wonderful care for the animals with almost all surviving. We are incredibly grateful for RPM's efforts and are so happy to help. We absolutely love fostering for RPM!!!!!
They literally have saved over 80k dogs and cats from euthanasia and work hard 24/7 to make a difference in Houston's homeless pet situation...
My experience with RPM has been humbling and inspiring. The work that this rescue does, and what they have accomplished in the years they’ve had their doors open has been nothing short of miraculous. In my mind, they are the leaders in homeless pet relocation in the city of Houston-a model that other rescue groups have adopted. I cannot say enough of the tireless, selfless efforts the staff puts forth ever. Single. Day. No rescue is more deserving of a 5-star non profit rating.

Rescued Pets Movement gives so many animals second chances to find new and loving homes! I've been part of this organization for 6 years now and am impressed at the teamwork and fosters/volunteers that make the RPM mission able to save so many lives. The rescue partners that help find placement for the animals have helped provide so many happy tails for animals that would not have had another chance due to being in overcrowded shelters. Over 85,000 deserving animals have found great homes since RPM put the mission together to transport, rehabilitate, and to give animals the voice they deserve to find new opportunities. I'm so grateful for RPM and the mission to keep saving lives!
Amazing experience with this nonprofit. Got involved as a friend of mine worked for them. Started volunteering with them in September of last year and quickly got experience to the point where I was helping them put on events, and even fostered a few animals!
Every minute has been so rewarding and the staff here really care about the animals they save, I see them on their breaks in the kennels or cattery petting and talking to the dogs and cats.
I have volunteered with RPM for about 10 years, volunteer fostering, cleaning and feeding on holidays, transporting from shelter to RPM or to fosters, working on transportation days, collecting towels, blankets, food, and toys. I have also collected donations and donated to the fundraisers.
I love what we do, how we do it, the care we give and the staff and volunteers.
I love knowing we are saving lives that came from situations far beyond their control, saving lives, and getting them into forever homes and a future!!!

I’ve been a cat foster with RPM for 2 years. In that time, I’ve fostered over 50 cats and kittens! RPM makes it easy to get them the care they need (I often take kitties with medical conditions) and they always consider my 3 resident cats before sending someone home with me. It’s hard to say goodbye when the cats transport, but the out-of-state receiving rescues are also full of friendly people who love cats as much as I do! I started fostering for RPM last November and have been able to help with 34 puppies and kitties find their homes. They are helpful with providing supplies, they work with you when getting them to the clinic, and they work to your preferences when pairing you with a foster.
I started fostering with RPM because I know I’m a sucker, so I needed the contractual agreement that I literally cannot foster fail, since all of their animals are already tagged for transport. However, I’ve stuck around 2.5 years and many fur babies later because of the incredible coordinators, staff, and community. It’s also amazing to see how quickly babies left to suffer in Houston get snatched up by adopters from partner shelters up north - you know you are making a tangible impact from day 1! RPM is especially great if you are new to fostering (you can start slow since opportunities exist for just 1 night) and/or travel often (they are grateful for any amount of time you can care for an animal, and if your foster animal doesn’t transport before you have to leave town, the fabulous foster coordinators will find someone else to takeover!). I cannot recommend fostering and RPM enough!
