Rock rescue is genuinely one of the best things to happen to us! Their mission and desire to help is unmatched. My daughters dog Dax had multiple pieces of a chipped bone lodge in his nasal way. This caused extensive bleeding and discomfort. After multiple visits to the local vet, they were unable to diagnose or find anything that could've caused the bleeding. 2 months of extensive bleeding and suffering without a diagnosis was unbearable. Dax is an amazing dog who brought much needed comfort to my 12 year old daughter while I was in Afghanistan with the Army fighting the war on terror. Rock rescue stepped in and partnered with Paws and Claws vet in Columbia SC. The doctors at Paws and Claws were able to retrieve all of the pieces of bone from his nostril. Dax is now back at home and thriving. I couldn't be more grateful for Rock Rescue and there mission to help animals without any expectations of financial gain. There mission is nothing short of amazing, as well as the incredibe humans that work there. Thank you Joyce Savino!! You are an incredible human being!!!
Unfortunately for the dogs the coordinators of this rescue are an impediment to the dogs being adopted and blame adopters for their own errors. When I attempted to adopt from the rescue I went through two interviews during which I was very upfront that I would be unable to pick up a dog from transport on a specific day. At the same time I was told I was approved to adopt I was told the dog was already on transport and due to arrive the same day I was unable to make for work reasons, now less than 48 hours away. I made every effort to find coverage so I could make it to the pickup site only slightly late, when I asked if it was possible for someone to wait with the dog briefly I was told that that would be impossible and that I was 'too young an irresponsible' as a 25 year old for not skipping work or having someone in close enough proximity to the drop off that I could ask for them to pick the dog up on extremely short notice (I also have my concerns that they were perfectly willing to leave the dog with someone they had no contact with prior.) So in lieu of someone briefly waiting with this middle aged dog who was recovering from both mange and heartworm and having him in a loving home immediately, they decided it was a better use of resources to place rush to find a last minute foster and it took at least another 6 months (I stopped watching his profile on petfinder because it was extremely upsetting) for this dog to find a home.
A family member had a disappointing experience with Rescue dogs rock USA that left a sour taste in my mouth. We fostered a dog from them and signed the adoption papers, and he quickly became a beloved member of our family—happy, healthy, and thriving. However, out of nowhere, the program decided to take him back, claiming it was for "his best interest."
The way they handled the situation was incredibly unprofessional. There was no prior communication, and they seemed more focused on their policies than the well-being of the dog or our family. The lack of compassion and understanding was shocking. It felt like they cared more about their rules than the bond we had formed.
I understand that rescue organizations have their guidelines, but this experience left me questioning their commitment to the animals they claim to prioritize. If you're considering adopting from this program, just be aware of the potential for abrupt and unkind actions. It’s disheartening to see a program that should be about love and support act so callously.
We recently adopted Bernard through Rescue Dogs Rock and the communication was excellent throughout the entire process. The team ensured that we were a good match for Bernard, which we greatly appreciated. Everyone involved in the adoption was kind and professional, and we highly recommend this rescue group to anyone searching for their new furry companion. Our sincerest thanks to RDR for such a fantastic experience. The Levin Family
I filled out an application and No reply. Nice little disclaimer they have "If we do not respond you are not a fit." The rescue world is about caring people trying to help those who can not protect themselves. Reading the reviews about "Rescue Dogs Rock Inc" proves my suspicions. It's all about money. I'm sure if I donated a lot of money they would approve my application. I have rescued four animals and gave them loving, safe, and healthy home. Looks like they even pick what dogs they do rescue. Notice they do not list their adoptables on their website, most rescues do, because they do not want you to notice they only pick the best animals to make the most money. If you can't handle the amount of applications with a simple reply then you should not take on such responsibilities. If you are looking for a rescue I would suggest steering clear of this puppy mill calling themselves a rescue. Worst experience ever and really making me think about going to a breeder (which is horrible)!
We were very much looking forward to the addition of a dog from this rescue to our family. I want to express how disappointed I am in how this adoption process went. We applied for the adoption of the dog on a Wednesday. We did not hear back from the rescue until 4pm on that Friday. We did not see the email on Friday until after the vet was closed and we could not contact our vet over the weekend as they are closed on weekends (required by the rescue before we could move ahead). Early that Monday morning, we contacted our vet and kept the ball rolling along. My references were contacted Monday afternoon and they took the time to fill out your questionnaire. We then had an interview set up, which was canceled by the rescue and not our family. We agreed to the rescheduled date and were told everything went well and is moving along smoothly. One hour after the phone call, we get an email that says he is adopted by another family. How is that possible considering the only delay in the process was on their end and not ours? I feel like we are owed much more of an explanation of how this could have happened and did not receive one. I do not recommend using this rescue. Luckily, there are many others to choose from.
I found them to be a waste of time when I was looking for dogo by being generally unresponsive.
I could have save time by doing a bit of research. This organization is associated with the family that was in the White House from 2017-2020, some of whom are bared from running a not for profit in NYS.

RescueDogsRockNYC 03/15/2023
Unfortunately due to an overwhelming amount of applications we are not able to respond to each one individually. This is the reason for the disclaimer in red at the top of the application form *** If you do not hear from us within 5 days, please assume you are not a match for dogs available through RDRNYC at this time*** To your point on RDRNYC's association with the family of former President Trump, please understand that RDR is not affiliated in any way with any political party/personality. We are an independent (501)(c)(3) charitable organization registered with the State of New York. Lara Trump is a animal welfare advocate and rescue dog adopter, with a history of supporting rescue organizations long before her in-laws became politically prominent. Her sponsorship of fund-raising and awareness-building efforts within the rescue community enables organizations to save and give a second chance to abandoned and abused pets who would otherwise be killed in overcrowded shelters.
Our beautiful Clementine was one of the 6 puppies born to what was named the "designer litter" . These tiny little sweethearts were born from their precious mama who was surrendered in her pregnant state. I'll never understand why any human could surrender any dog, but especially a mama ready to give birth. Rescue Dogs Rock took charge, Joyce who became their foster mama took on this Mama and her babies during very challenging times. It was January of 2022. We all know what was going on during that time. When I think of what could have happened to them during covid if Rescue Dogs Rock hadn't stepped in, makes my heart break. Ours was one of many many stories I have read when I was educating myself on this rescue. How they come forward immediately in all situations when many dont.
When we got the call that we were one of the lucky families who were approved to adopt one of the puppies, I felt immediately blessed. We were going to be parents to one of these little miracle babies. We arrived the day to pick her up and we were treated like family. I never felt so welcomed into a home surrounded by love. These puppies were not only nurtured by Joyce, but trained, socialized, happy , clean , and they were simply perfection ! When we left with our baby in hand, her whole family got emotional as did Joyce. You could see this was not only a task that she had completed, it was done with a bounty of love and devotion from the heart. What a warm feeling being a part of that.
At this time, we are dealing with two other senior puppies in addition to our beautiful Clementine who just turned 1. But in time, when we can make room for another fur baby in our lives, we will be sure to be back looking to rescue another precious baby in need of a home . I would never go any further than Rescue Dogs Rock because their dedication is above and beyond anything you could every expect or ask for . What a wonderful group of humans. Thank you again for our very special happy, playful, smart and feisty baby Clementine.
We are forever grateful, Lisa and Frank
Originally I applied to adopt a dog through RDR. Once approved I started following them on Facebook. When I saw they were looking for foster homes, I volunteered. They are so great to work with. They entire "village" that volunteers helps foster homes and adopters make the perfect match. I volunteer with a few different organizations and RDR is by far my favorite!
Previous Stories
I have been volunteering with RDR NYC since the start Spring of 2020 as a kitten foster home. The best way to describe RDR NYC is "a village". An adopter will work with many volunteers, each one with a specific role in the adoption process. Each person is helpful and professional. Communication was great when I was applying to adopt and its awesome as a foster home to have so many people "in your corner".
I applied to adopt a dog a full year and 2 months ago. I checked adoptions on Chewy today to see the cute pups, and there he was! The dog I applied for over a year ago, still with them, listed for adoption. Absolutely cruel withholding pets that could have found homes already, and for what? I was rejected without them telling me why, despite fitting all criteria and having tons of time for a dog in my schedule.

We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the handling of your application. Unfortunately, we are unable to research if you did receive a denial response or you weren't a fit for this particular dog since we don’t have your name. Any dogs around as long as you are claiming usually means they have some sort of issue whether behavioral, medical, or a dog that requires something very specific in the home or family setting. We have a very strict set of standards and guidelines in place that have to be met before any potential adopter is approved. We will never just place a dog simply because they are “wanted” by a specific applicant. You can email info@rescuedogsrocknyc.org and provide the information needed for us to provide you with more specific information.
Rescue Dogs Rock does an OUTSTANDING job, literally saving dogs of ANY age!! They manage to medically save their lives - and are VERY THOROUGH in screening foster/adopters for these animals.
As an animal lover - I always try to send $ to help them make the difference.
One of these ‘thrown away to die’ pups is now mine! Thanks to RDR - they spent big money on an intestinal resection….. and I discovered Hills BIOME gastrointestinal kibble. - and my boy is thriving!!! Had I won the lottery - RDR would have all the money it needs and deserves!!! Absolutely great organization of caring, supportive people!!
Well, allow me to introduce ourselves, we're Sage & Slater.
I was diagnosed with severe depression and am on disability due to DVT in both legs a few years ago and had just moved back in with my dad. So, yea, I was definitely feeling down in the dumps.
My sister, a long time foster for RDR, and her fiancee had just bought a house that needed extensive renovations and so they came to stay in dad's in-house apartment. Now it needs to be understood that my sister was a nurse (out on disability herself) and at the time was one of RDR's 'go to' fosters for some of the more 'special needs' cases. Well, they also have 3 dogs of their own, so when the call came in that there was a 'small breed special needs' case, my sister asked me if I'd be willing to help her in what ever capacity.
I agreed not knowing that that would become one of those life changing decisions... and I couldn't be happier about it.
Slater is a male Blue Chihuahua mix. According to his paperwork, he was found at about 1.5-2 year of age in a convenience store parking lot down South with sustained injuries indicating that he was most likely hit by or thrown out of a car leaving him with a fractured femur (right at the hip) and a luxated vertebrae (basically the force of the trauma caused one of his spinal vertebrae to pop out of line, pinching his spinal cord and then immediately popping back into place). Though he could still technically walk, aside from the hip damage, the spinal cord injury left him completely incontinent.
So as you can imagine there were an awful lot of vet visits for Slater including an operation to remove the very top of his damaged femur as it was not healing and beginning to deteriorate. On top of all this, the poor little guy also had heartworms. Now for full disclosure, my sister did all the interactions with the vet & RDR but I can say that I never once saw, nor heard of a problem pertaining to treatment of any kind excluding 'life gets in the way' things, and even then it was a minor issue of heartworm meds delivery delayed by a day due to the carrier company.
Jump forward about 3 months and my sisters house reno is completed and they all move back home. 4 day later my sister calls me to ask if I would be ok fostering Slater because she can't keep him out from under her bed. Of course I said yes and the next day Slater came home. The moment my sister came through the door Slater was a big old squealing grey ball of happiness and that's when I realized that he chose me.
Now fast forward 4.5 yrs. and everyone who knows Slater loves Slater and are all totally amazed at how well he is doing now compared to when first meeting him. We wound up rescuing each other and I'd be a total fool to think otherwise. He helps me with my depression and I give him safe shelter and love. It's a win-win for us and that's why we are so very appreciative of RDR and all the work they do.
When our 13 year old dachshunds passed, my husband said ‘no more dogs, it’s too heartbreaking”. A house without dogs is empty and I knew I had to find a way to heal his heart and rebuild our pack. A friend who fostered dogs introduced me to Rescue Dogs Rock. The organization is amazing. We were properly vetted- they interviewed everyone in the family. We started fostering puppies, often in pairs, and although bereft each time one was adopted, we also had that thrill of knowing we had been one of the stepping stones into their best lives. The pups often arrived with mild medical issues that needed attention - RDR pays for all medical costs. The admins and volunteers are the most incredible people I have ever met - they are available round the clock - exhausted and broke - they are also resourceful and tireless and they have saved thousands of dogs (and cats).
Needless to say we foster failed twice - and adopted two of our lovely fosters , both from Texas. Four years on we are at ill fostering, still impressed by this org from top to bottom. Heart healed. Home full of laughter and loyalty and wagging tails. If you are looking for a dog, or simply want to help through fostering, admin or donations, THIS is the organization to work with. Thank you RDR, and Trixie and Bear send their love too!!
Six years ago I spotted a dog who was in the local shelter and who was scheduled for euthanasia due to kennel cough. She could only be adopted if a rescue took her. Immediately Rescue Dogs Rock pulled her to safety for me and even allowed me to foster her first due to the fact that she was a stray whose behavior wasn’t known. She was my heart dog and was loved! I eventually became a volunteer almost 4 years ago and have been with RDR ever since. The people I work with are beyond incredible and work sometimes throughout the night if a situation calls for it. They truly have only the dogs’ and cats’ best interest at heart
I have been fostering dogs for the past few years. The dogs I have had are ones that have had medical issues from where they were found. I had worked as a vet tech in the past and have experience with sick and injured animals.I have worked closely with the people from there in all different jobs and they have all been so helpful in the treatment and care of the dogs. They spare no expense when it comes to the care of the animals. They vet the people that foster and the ones that adopt very carefully to ensure that the animals are placed in the best homes. I have also helped in transport of another dog. I look forward to helping out fostering again. I highly recommend them as a rescue to look for a pet to adopt from.
We can’t imagine our lives without Ella. Thank you RDR NYC for bringing this girl to us from an abandoned litter from TX.
The application process was easy, they sent us her photo and we said yes and she was ours! We’re connected to all the other mommies from her litter. We got Ella at 8 weeks and she’s 2 now. Just a joy our baby we’re beyond thankful we have this beauty! ♥️
Rescue Dogs Rock is above all a rescue with heart. They care so much about dogs, and it shows in every effort they put forth - from pulling a "no chance" case, to arranging transport, to vetting adopters, to organizing adoption events. They are all heart because they are strictly volunteer based. No one is in it for the money, and that is the bet guarantee that they have the purest motives for their dogs.
When we adopted our dog, my husband and I were a little surprised at how thorough they were in vetting us- all references were checked, they had a volunteer do a home visit and they asked very pointed questions about our schedule, our experience with dogs and our expectations. If this sounds like too much, then that's not because this isn't the rescue for you, it's because a dog isn't for you. Every single person I have met through RDR has been solely focused on making sure the dog will be well taken care of and loved for the rest of their life. They are solely foster-based, allowing dogs to settle into home life and providing incredible insight for adopters into their potential new pet (and sometimes with added benefits of the dogs already being housetrained, on schedules, crate trained, etc...) They also have a vibrant online community, providing an invaluable asset to fellow adopters and fosters. I can't recommend RDR enough if you are serious about finding your next four-legged best friend.
I have been a foster for the past6+ years
This is a group who have opened their hearts to save as many pups ( old/ puppies) the medical care is 5star
If only I lived closer I would love to help more
I adopted my lab mix, Finn, from RDR in 2019 after my daughter was born. RDR was thorough, quick to process my application, and really took the time to get to know myself and my family to help us find the best match for both us and our dog. We originally applied to adopt a different dog and they knew it wouldn’t be a good fit as that dog was having a hard time with kids. They really took into account where he would thrive and pointed me in the direction of my dog, who assimilated beautifully with my cat, other dog, and my now 2 babies. RDR really works to find the best, forever homes for the dogs they rescue. In my extended family, we have adopted 7 RDR dogs and will continue to use RDR in the future when adding furry family members.
The name may be Rescue Dogs Rock, but they are also saving cats too. A year and a half ago we were lucky enough to be the adopters of Aslan (fka Garfield) and Rooster (fka Gary). These boys were raised in different fosters and united in our home. First let me say the fosters did a wonderful jobs of raising these boys- they came to us only slightly nervous to their new surroundings (expected so we had thier recommended decompression room set up) but NOT at all afraid of people or our 75 pound (loving but maybe intimidating) dog. They have turned into the most amazing cats who are engaging and friendly.
Rooster was a kitten who may have been discarded by the shelter system, an eye infection ruptured his eye and he required surgery before he was adopted. Most may have given up, but thankfully RDR saw him and knew his home and people were out there; and we were and we were waiting for him. RDR was quick and responsive to our application the volunteer coordinators, home team and transporters were amazing to work with we love keeping them posted on "our bous" new lives and adventures.
I have fostered for other rescues and I will say RDR has always given me support that I did not get with past rescues. This rescue is more like a family and we all know families are not perfect, they have their ups and downs but THIS family stands behind their dogs, has always surrounded me with physical and emotional support especially when one of my fosters lost her fight with cancer. I am happy and proud to be a foster with RDR.
I have been a foster for Rescue Dogs Rock NYC for almost four years and also adopted a dog from them. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the organization and everyone I have worked with. They accept the sad cases that other rescues won’t and they do everything they can to help every animal heal, blossom and find the perfect home. As a foster they have given me (my fosters) everything they need to have the best chance at finding their forever home. They continue to work with adopters when needed to make sure the dog succeeds in its new home. I have been amazed at the way volunteers come together and always step up to help with anything from answering questions and transporting animals to setting up adoption events and fostering. They truly care about saving dogs (and cats) and finding them the best home.
I stumbled across Rescue Dogs Rock NYC by chance one day while scrolling. I came across the cutest little face that drew me in. The look in their eyes, the story about his suffering.. I knew I had to do something. I was an avid terrier owner who had lost my last dog during covid . I knew if I had enough love to give and time to share and memories to make , that this rescue was the one ! I needed to do something and do it fast.
I adopted my baby Charlie from the Texas division and it has been 3 years now. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Charlie was exactly what his description on petfinder said and more ! I couldn’t have asked for a better behaved rescue . From start to finish the adoption process was seamless. The patient, understanding volunteers who emailed and called me, I couldn’t have worked with a better rescue. From start to finish it was an amazing process. They explained every part of the adoption to me throughout.
Rescue dogs rock is a special cut above the rest rescue because of what they stand for. They swoop into these areas where these dogs and cats are highly neglected and take action quick ! They don’t stop until these babies are placed in the right home with the right owners. They have these animals best interest at heart and I wouldn’t adopt anywhere else !!!! Best volunteers !!! Best fosters!!!! A +++ for sure
Was approved for a dog a few years ago and then 24 hours before the dogs supposed “arrival” they called and said “the dog isn’t fit to be in your home we have concerns”
Which is all well and good and totally fine but why initially approve me, why give me transportation info and why wait until 24 before to pull him and say JK it’s not a good fit?
I also was repeatedly ghosted by the org and several times was emailed every person I’d been in contact with and messaging the orgs Instagram to get something answered because no one knew who the authority was on anything: on dog transport, in application progresses, on who has what records, etc.
At the end of the day, I got a truly lovely dog out of this org. don’t get me wrong. She’s a blast. But the headaches of going through the process and having my feedback ignored left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
I attempted multiple times post-adoption to meet to give my feedback and let SOMEONE know of the trouble I faced to ensure no one would face such issues again but no reply ever came. As if they did not want to hear it.
I was going to leave it alone until I saw in their alumni group, they appealed for ONLY good reviews to be posted and if you had a negative experience, to message them privately. So I did and I got the stock “sorry you felt that way” and gave no indications that my concerns were heard and what they were doing to fix it.
I give this review not to bash them but to reiterate that there are problems to be addressed and with reading some of these reviews, my problems seen in 2017 are still being seen in 2022.
Also they posted a private photo i shared on the group on their public Instagram of my dog and me without telling me they were going to do so and made me super uncomfortable. But I also didn’t say anything and tried to play it off. But as a result I left the alumni group and distanced myself because who knows what they would’ve posted next.
So I have discouraged people from using them at this juncture but I am MORE than happy to be proven wrong. I am truly happy that many have had positive occasions with this rescue….But me personally I will never be working with them again and my experience is just as valid as the positive ones being written.
So a TLDR; a good at heart rescue who just need a bit of improvement on the logistics side. Hope this helps.

RescueDogsRockNYC 10/25/2022
Thank you Ms. Tibbs for your feedback, we sometimes learn more about our dogs' needs once they leave the vet and get on transport which was the case with the dog you were approved for. We are very sorry for your disappointment and perhaps the communication could have been better, but we are thrilled that, after great effort, you found Wrigley and is loved by you. I note that you called out several RDR volunteers by name in your comments on one of the posts. Some of those volunteers tell me they messaged you privately, asking for clarity on your accusations towards them and that either they received no response or were told "it doesn’t matter now.” It seems that you have misinterpreted our post soliciting reviews. At no time did we ask for 'good’ reviews and we didn't intend to imply that we expected such. Please understand that we take all feedback seriously and we are constantly making operational changes to that end, but we don't feel obliged to report back on every change.
We thought we adopted a dog last week after it was dropped off and they had all the paperwork. My eight year old became attached to her and then we get a call saying they found a home for her and are coming to pick her up. This would have been our second rescue from them not to mention the donations we have made. We will NEVER donate or rescue from them again. Terrible people running it.

RescueDogsRockNYC 09/06/2022
Hello - similar in response to your trolling our community network group, harassing our volunteers and defaming our rescue with false claims on the internet, we are happy to clarify this scenario here as well. This dog was being fostered locally while multiple applications were being processed for the dog. The foster confirmed with us she was going away and gave the dog to you as a temporary foster. We had an approved adopter who had received an approval letter/paid and we notified the foster - and you - as soon as that was formalized. You never received any confirmation of your adoption because it did not happen. The dog remained chipped and kept under RDR until the (approved) adopter received her this past weekend, which we facilitated transport for as standard. All vet records travel with the dogs from transport until they find their forever home. We have all of the documentation in place supporting this and wish you well in finding a dog for your family in the future.
Total scumbags! Wanted to adopt a pup to rescue him, and be a friend to my exist rottweiller 8 yrs old, all shots vet checked, not a canditate for neauter at 8 yrs old!
Whole application process very invasive!
We have a beautiful 32 acre farm, all the wonderful comforts for any dog!
Sadly we werent good enough! We were honest, truthful, and in ernest with this application. More of the woke mentality in manhatten! Im going to report you to the state dept of taxes in ny, and the fed irs for tax evasion with your 501c tax exempt status
JOHN KELLY ESQ.

RescueDogsRockNYC 09/06/2022
Sadly, Mr. Kelly has not told the entire story. First, our application form specifically asks for name and age of pets in the home, as well as whether they are spayed/neutered. Mr. Kelly did not disclose that his Rottweiler is not neutered; in fact he lied and stated on the application that he was neutered. We spent valuable time processing his application, which we would not have done if he had disclosed the truth. We confirmed with Mr. Kelly’s vet that he had 8 years to neuter his perfectly healthy Rottweiler but he choose not to. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, like most rescues, has a policy whereby we do not adopt pets to people who have not spayed or neutered their current pets. When we learned of his dog not being neutered, we sent a denial email as we do in all such situations. Mr. Kelly immediately wrote back to us stating that he was going to contact the IRS. Unfortunately, he fails to realize that denying people the dog they want does not constitute a breach of 501(c)(3)
I adopted my beautiful senior dog Bear in August of 2016 . His elderly owner had passed away and he ended up in the NYACC. Before he came to me, he had some medical issues and had been under RDR's care with a vet in NYC. I loved that RDR had ensured this elderly dog was given such good medical care. I was very impressed with the entire adoption process, from the application intake to the day of transport. Everything went smoothly and a beautiful, gentle and healthy dog was delivered to me with his complete medical file while he was under treatment as well as the brand of his food to make transition easier.
Just before the Covid Pandemic,In February of 2020, Rescue Dogs Rock, NYC introduced me to my newest family member, Phoebe. The entire process, from initial application to actual adoption, took between two to three weeks, and went very smoothly. RDR was extremely thorough in their background and home check, and spoke to all of my references. I would not hesitate to use this awesome rescue in the future. I am a member of their Facebook group, where foster parents and adopters share photos, ask questions and offer support. This is an invaluable resource, and one I enjoy viewing every day. RDR rescues many dogs and cats needing medical attention — animals passed over by most other rescues. RDR believes every dog and cat deserves a chance, and I couldn’t agree more!
Once upon a time this puppy was thrown away to die…. Enter Rescue Dogs Rock!! They invested thousands of dollars to give him life saving surgery!! He is thriving & happy - because RDR did not hesitate to provide all the help necessary. I always supported RDR & never imagined that I would welcome one of their rescues to my home. I will continue to support such a worthy, caring rescue - and LOVE my addition to my family !! Thank you for all you do !!!
Rescue Dogs rock is amazing! They care so much about the dogs as well as the people adopting. They made sure we were able to adopt the perfect dog for our family. They go above and beyond taking care of the animals in their care. Thank you RDR for giving us our sweet dog Molly who we love so very much!
I’ve been a volunteer and supporter of RDR for several years. An excellent organization that helps helpless animals. I’ve adopted 3 RDR dogs and know they’ve been well taken carE of and given the best medical attention they need. I highly recommend RDR to anyone looking for a pet. They’re the best!!!
We had a great experience with this rescue organization. They were thorough, they helped provide a smooth transition and very user friendly. Very collaborative. Highly recommend.
I have been a foster for RDR for many puppies and it has brought such joy to my life.
RDR has always kept me updated on the puppies forever homes so I know when they are in their special place.
RDR gets all the care the animals needs it not about the cost it’s about saving lives.
RDR has been awesome to work with and the I even though I cry each time I put a pup on transport I know they are going to a safe libeling place until they reach that special forever home!!! Please foster and if you cannot please donate every little bit helps even if it’s $5.00 it goes to such a great organization

Rescue Dogs Rock broke our hearts. 2 states, NY and PA both deemed us worthy adults to care for, raise and love our adopted son. He's almost 9 and we promised him a dog once we were able to buy our 1st house. We just celebrated 1 yr in our 1st house and Rescue Dogs Rock broke our hearts by not deeming us a worthy family to adopt a dog...
My wife is a teacher and pet lover. She's had 1 dog and multiple cats in her lifetime. I am a pet lover and also owned 1 dog and had multiple cats over the past 50, yes fifty years. Additionally, I've been through 3 litters with my female cats in my lifetime. We currently have 2 cats, both adopted from North Shore Animal League on Long Island, a no kill facility.
Apparently, after working with our new neighbor, who works for Rescue Dogs Rock, we had picked out a puppy from a recent litter she was fostering and begun the process. No one had placed any interest on our puppy. After submitting the application and patiently waiting for the pups to get to 8 weeks. Rescue Dogs Rock rejects our application. Our neighbor, very disappointed requests a meeting to discuss our qualifications for the adoption of our puppy. However, before she even gets a chance to speak on our behalf, she is notified they are giving our puppy to someone else.
They knew the dog we were interested in and knew that the current representative fostering the litter was requesting to speak on our behalf and yet they give away our puppy anyway?
My only guess, we did not offer them enough money.
I do not recommend this organization.
Edit:
Since I can't reply to the blatant lies from Rescue Dogs Rock: As mentioned in the review, both cats are adopted from Northshore Animal League. Both cats were vaccinated upon adoption, As per NYS Law, and received boosters from Northshore not our vet. The cats are 8 & 9 and not due again till Next Year. However, your application only asked for Vets and since you Never Called Us or had a detailed conversation with your own representative, you wouldn't know this and gave away our dog to the highest bidder.

RescueDogsRockNYC 07/07/2022
We did not give “your” puppy away, you were denied because you failed your vet check. Your cats were years overdue on vaccines nor received their rabies vaccinations which is NYS law. Per RDR guidelines this pattern of vet care, or lack of, is unacceptable. We did speak to your neighbor, our foster who understood.
In 2015 I started looking into adopting a rescue dog. I saw a photo on petfinder of a puppy who we wanted to adopt. The puppy named Bandit was found roaming the streets down south and needed medical Attention. Rescue Dogs Rock took Bandit off the streets and provided the medical assistance he needed. I sent my application to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. After going through the application processing we found out Bandit( now Archie was ours. I have had Archie for over 6 years . He is a wonderful dog and I thank RDR for saving him. I was so impressed with the rescue I recommended it to my son and daughter-in-law.They adopted. BElla from them. Another wonderful dog. I lost my Wheaton this past October (not a RDR dog) to cancer. I decided to adopt again from RDR. I adopted Linus this past November. He and his sister (puppies) were left in a closed crate with no food or water. They were full of parasites and skinny. RDR saved them. Just like all the other dog’s they save. I am a dog lover and because of RDR’s dedication to helping the most vulnerable and giving them a chance to have a good life I decided to volunteer. I have been a volunteer since 2017. To see the conditions that those dogs have to endure is heartbreaking. To have to see it on a daily basis is saddening. I truly feel this rescue goes above and beyond for the dogs and cats they save.
Rescue Dogs Rock was such an amazing rescue to work with! We rescued our sweet girl (Pebbles) in 2019. The entire adoption process was very smooth and straightforward. Everyone we came in contact with throughout the adoption process was very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY recommend this rescue to anyone looking to adopt a dog!
The work that they do is absolutely amazing! I truly can’t thank them enough for rescuing our baby girl and other dogs like her who have very serious injuries/medical conditions that other rescues/shelters might not be willing to take.
We adopted our sweet boxer girl, Lola in August of 2020. She instantly became our best friend and had put smiles on our faces every day since. The adoption process was so smooth- we were informed every step of the way, including regular updates as she was transported to the north east. We were given tips for decompression and the follow up phone call was so kind of RDR! Lola adapted beautifully to our family and I think this is in part to the information we were given about the needs of rescue pups! She loves her human and puppy brothers! I would recommend RDR rock to anyone looking to adopt a dog.
Last year we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog of 16 years. I wasn't looking for another pup but there I was, scrolling Facebook and found a post on the Rescue Dogs Rock NYC page. The sweetest face looking back at me and I knew I needed to be his mom. The process was easy but thorough! I filled out an application and was contacted within a few days. They had my permission to contact our vet and a few personnel references. We had 2 phone interviews and 1 video conference since they couldn't do an in house inspection due to covid. We found out that the pup we fell in love with was being fostered with his brother. So we decided to adopt them both. Since the pups(4 mos old) were able to bond with other dogs and ppl, RDR said it was fine. It's been 10 months since these boys came into our lives and although it's challenging with 2, we couldn't imagine life without them. RDR has resources if we need them and a community page that helps when we need advice, or want to connect with other adopters. I still keep in contact with their foster mom and send her pictures often. I highly recommend using RDR and often give their information out when I know someone is looking to adopt. I included pictures just to show how cute they are!! Zeke (brwn/blk) and Ollie (blk/wt)
We adopted our dog Roxy from RDR in September 2019 and the experience was thorough and smooth. From filling out the application to speaking with their dedicated volunteers, it was a smooth process. And once we were matched with our dog, her foster mom was so helpful and really made the transition as easy as possible for us. We can’t imagine our lives without our Roxy girl and we are so thankful for Rescue Dogs Rock NYC!
Rescue Dogs Rock helped pair us with our current dog. They walked us through every step of finding a dog that matched our household and family type. Even a year after having adopted our puppy they are still available to us for any questions we may have. There are not enough kind things I can say about this organization and it’s people. Once you adopt from them, you too become part of their vast family.
Seven years our family had two dogs which were our loves. One had just passed away from cancer leaving a big hole in our hearts. One day I was looking on Facebook at Rescue Dogs Rock NYC and had seen puppies dumped out of a PT Cruiser in Georgia. What a horrible thing to see! One of those puppies was Betty Boop. She was so adorable and won our hearts from the minute we saw her! I got in contact with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC and they were just great to work with. They immediately sent someone to talk to us to make sure Betty Boop would be a good fit for us, very polite and professional. I am not a person who likes to drive very far because of an accident I had been in in the past. Rescue Dogs Rock went out of their way to get Betty Boop dropped off right at my house and I will forever be thankful for this! It was a pleasure to work with them and will do it again in the future. Thank you RDR NYC!
Rescue Dogs Rock is a great rescue. I adopted my dog, Bixby, from them almost three years ago. The process was very thorough and supportive, especially since Bixby was a tough dog. I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer with them for animal transports and most recently at an adoption event. The volunteers are dedicated, hard-working and have a love of animals, especially some heartbreaking cases. I would highly recommend adopting from RDR.
I can’t express how much RDR means to me and my family! Back in 2018, we saw a photo of an emaciated puppy that RDR was in the process of rescuing from the NYCACC. The puppy had been brought in very, very bad shape and the prognosis was not good, but RDR took him on without hesitation! We immediately expressed our interest in him and began the adoption process. He was placed in a medical foster with Joyce Sheridan Savino, who went above and beyond to get him healthy! After our application was approved and a home visit completed, we got the amazing news that the sweet pup would be ours once his health was stable. After two months of touch and go, we were given the best gift ever – a healthy, happy, beautiful little miracle named Benji! RDR spared NO expense in making sure this guy was given the best chance at life and now Benji has become our child’s best friend and our constant companion! We are so grateful for what Rescue Dogs Rocks does for the animals in their care and also for their diligence in finding just the right home for each dog. A dog rescued by RDR is lucky dog indeed! I’ve provided some before and after photos of our guy! He is loved beyond measure!
Rescue Dogs Rocks definitely “rocks” ! They never say no to a dog in need regardless of the dog’s condition because they truly care! It takes a village and lots of love and time.
They rescued and saved our sweet fur baby Cooper that we adopted three years ago.
They cared for him and attended to his wounds and medical issues. I followed his story and fell in love!
My daughter is a veterinarian that often vets and cares for RDR rescues so I know how much they do! They are volunteers, non profit and special people. I know what’s involved as I too volunteer for animal rescue.
Thank you RDR for all you do especially for saving my Cooper!
We adopted our beautiful Moose from RDR a few years ago.. Moose had been confiscated by the police in a cruelty case. RDR did not hesitate to swoop right in and save him no matter the cost! This rescue organization does that all the time - they take in the hard luck cases no other rescue will touch. The compassion and dedication RDR exhibits on a daily basis amazes me. I have found RDR to be very “user” friendly through the adoption process and ever since.. I would highly recommend RDR if you are considering adopting a new family member..
RDR changed my life by letting me adopt the most perfect girl. I saw Chloe on a social media post I knew I wanted her in her to be my best friend, her eyes touched me. I went through all the paperwork and had her come here to see if she was happy and then they sent somebody to make sure she was happy here, the process was very thorough. Through their program they are giving people the chance to be with their lifelong furry friend and they are giving so many animals a chance to have a good life. Chloe and I appreciate all that you do! I couldn’t imagine my life not ever having her be a part of it. Thank you RDR!!!
We adopted our now 6-year-old pup through RDR. They are incredibly thorough with screening applications, interviews, home visits, etc. I was impressed with the care they take to find the right home for the animals in their care. Our experience, from start to finish, was pleasant and everyone was very helpful. They have a great long-term support system in place for their fosters and adopters as well. Highly recommend!
RDR what can I say about them. Well let’s start with the adoption of my Maximus. Maximus was used as a bait puppy & then left for dead in a cemetery in the south. When Maximus was found, the response was there’s no saving him. That’s when RDR stepped up. They took a chance on him & guess what? Maximus thrives today, RDR saved an innocent puppy from being euthanized because nobody believed in him. They believed, they gave him life, they gave him love. They gave me my best friend. I’m positive it’s not easy having a nonprofit animal rescue. It takes everything you have in you to help save all these innocent animals. Having such an incredible experience with RDR a first time, we adopted a second time with Stormy. Both of our dogs were given a second chance because RDR took a chance. If your not approved for some reason, then there’s a problem with you. If your paperwork gets pushed aside or you didn’t get a response back as quickly as you would have liked, remember RDR relies on volunteers. People who make time to volunteer, people who give up their time to save animals. If you want to adopt an animal, I with all my heart highly recommend RDR.
Rescue Dogs Rock is an amazing group of caring individuals who volunteer their time to rescue, rehabilitate & rehome pets. They pull dogs from the most horrific conditions, provide them with state of the art medical care. Once they've received lifesaving veterinary care, they are transpored to a loving foster home until their forever family is found. This rescue doesn't just take on the easy rescues they take on the dogs who've been abused, neglected & dumped by those once considered family.
The rescue is 100% volunteer. I believe in this rescue because they really are in it for the dogs. I became a foster with this rescue a few years back, and I can tell you I've watched dogs go from a scared shell of a dog, to a confident happy dog. Watching your foster dog change and transition to their forever family is priceless. Please consider adoption 1st.....if you are not in a position to adopt, please advocate, donate or volunteer. Or even better open your home to one of their amazing fosters. Btw I've fostered & I've adopted from RDR!!
I can't say enough things about how positive my
experience was with Rescue Dogs Rock. The whole
experience from the start of my filling out an application to
the time we got approved for our adoption was very
thorough with extreme attention to detail. The rescue
clearly wanted to make sure I was a good fit for a new
puppy. I appreciated that because I felt they really had the
puppy's best interest at heart. Every team member was
professional and showed so much care and compassion
for the animals and you could feel how they work so hard
to find good homes for all their babies. I have been so
blessed with the adoption of my puppy and so lucky to be
a part of this wonderful experience with this incredible
group of volunteers at this amazing rescue. I would highly
recommend DR to everyone!!!
Candid? Simply awesome! We adopted our Texas plott hound pup, FDR, from Rescue Dogs Rock last summer and every day has been a joy with him. The application process was professional, along with the home visit. The staff communicated frequently with us about any questions we had, in a supportive and experienced manner. When we finally picked up FDR at the transport, we couldn’t believe how it all came together. The adoption was seamless, and we have maintained our friendships with all the wonderful staff who volunteer in various capacities for RDR. Some of the staff we regard as friends (Rachelle, Alyssa, Lori, Kelly, Randie, Ashley, Erin) - these people compassionately volunteer with the adoptions, medical, transport, fostering , and rescues ALL hours of the day and night, 24x7.
FDR, our wonderful rescue, aka, Mr Kissy, Franklin, Pissy Paws, Frankie, Crankie, Frankly, and Frankfurter!! ❤️
We looked and looked to add to our family after we were ready after losing our last boy.
We tried many rescues and they either never updated their dogs or took forever to get back to us.
Months and months, heart ache and heart break, finally, we found the one through RDR.
They got back to me quickly, informed me of the process step by step, was never mis informed.
THEY are wonderful! They work tirelessly to rescue and find homes for all their rescues, treat them, care for them and transport each to their forever homes. Other rescues ask for a separate fee for transport.! They go above and beyond. Not one unkind person I've found in this bonded community. They have a support community that bonds together. We are blessed with our little Poni. It's been 3 months and it feels like she's always been here. And she's only 5 months!!
We are so thankful for RDRNYC. Miracle was rescued and rehabilitated by RDRNYC. She was one of the desperate pleas on facebook (see below pics for before and after) and RDR did it ALL they didn't give up on her for a second. RDR gave Miracle a chance at living the beautiful life she deserved and that god intended for her. We signed up to be fosters and fell in love with her. I knew that if there were potentially other adopters that were approved for Miracle that I might not be able to keep her since that comes with the territory of fostering. RDR allowed us to adopt her after performing a home visit and felt that she was in her forever home. They marked her as adopted and the rest is history!
I’ve adopted 4 dogs from RDR! I absolutely love this nonprofit and I donate regularly using amazon smile. Some kinks that did occur but DOES NOT deter me from continuing to adopt from this organization and donate. 1) adopted an older dog and they did not give much background; she needed to be a single dog household- we kept her and worked though the issues 2) when I adopted the last puppy, some mix up occurred; multiple ppl contacted me about my “foster” I paid the adoption fee and took her very young so she was vaxxed by me etc. This issue was quickly resolved but I had to show all my receipts-I felt I wasn’t trusted and this was my 4th dog I adopted! Any how, of course I have the paperwork to prove it.. maybe too many hands on deck trying to help and information was lost. Either way, resolved and I absolutely LOVE my dogs! They bring me to much happiness. RDR is truly inspirational:)
I adopted my beautiful puppy who was in the devoted and loving care of Joyce who not only fostered my Lulubelle but cared for her 5 siblings and mother.
This was a truly amazing experience and when I am ready to adopt another furry family member; I will reach out to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC!
Full story:
If you're considering getting involved with this organization at all and have a passion for dogs - I strongly urge you to reconsider.
We fostered a gorgeous, extremely anxious trauma puppy for the last 7 months named Lexa - spent an enormous amount of time decompressing her to our space, ourselves, the city neighborhood we live in, and strangers on the street. She's blossomed beautifully, but undoubtedly a work-in-progress. We made the mistake of getting her involved in an adoption event for this rescue (aka, the sidewalk in front of a Bareburger in a busy corner in Brooklyn) to help expose her, socialize with other people/dogs, and be active fosters for the organization. What transpired there and thereafter was so disturbing; I easily see so much truth to these negative reviews on here and Google.
Saturday, April 9th. Their first major red flag was receiving angry texts during the event from our foster coordinator, Patricia, (I was asleep at home prepping for night shift work with my husband in attendance) about false statements that I apparently said at this event, "you told Stacey you crate Lexa 8 hours a day? They are texting me going off about it". Bewildered, I cleared up the fact that I'm not even there, we absolutely do not keep her crated (she's been housetrained and she has a deep bond with her open crate), and I am home during the day as I work nights right now. When my husband comes home from work, he takes her out on our terrace and for walks, typically dragging her lazy butt from said crate. Seemingly also confused, Patricia said she’s texting back whoever is making all these claims while I’m offering more clarity and detail, but no one’s returning her messages. Exactly fifty minutes after receiving the initial text with nothing but confusion still, I get a text from a volunteer, Patti, saying there’s a driver coming to pick up Lexa tomorrow. I asked why, to which she said she had a foster-to-adopt interest, and that I would have to ask Patricia. So I asked Patricia. “Idk what’s going on, maybe an adopter idk.” Meanwhile, my husband is still at this event with other fosters and volunteers, completely unaware of the drama unfolding feet away from him and no one indicating any solid interest or concern for Lexa. I’m upset, asking why isn’t anyone inquiring further with my husband standing right there while he’s being spoken about like mature adults? “Idk what’s going on.”
I texted that if this is, indeed, a foster-to-adopt and doesn’t work out, we are applying to adopt her ourselves. Also, if I don’t hear about the details of where Lexa’s going, I don’t feel comfortable with having her picked up. According to Patricia, “usually they will reach out to the foster…I know Texas team does it their own way, then not sure their process. Maybe an approved adopter.” I reiterate our interest in adopting her, adding that there has been no direct mention of Lexa when asked about interest in the event group chat. Then was told, “dog needs socialization from what they saw today and will re-evaluate…probably someone with other dogs.” I expressed how sketchy this all felt, asking, “so they’re taking her because of how scared she started out and judged us?”
“Sorry, I wasn’t there either. They are moving her tomorrow, probably to a special foster.”
I’m outraged. My husband returned and was dumbfounded over what’s unfolded, while he observed Lexa there, eventually growing more comfortable with the foreign environment and greeting other dogs and people through the last half of the event. Patricia says it’s not her call, but she empathizes. I ask who’s call it was and why we weren’t given the opportunity to speak on our, and Lexa’s, behalf. She gives me Stacey’s email and we send one right away.
This second red flag is a flag beyond flags. About 3-4 hours after I was told she had a foster-to-adopt by both Patti and Patricia, the rescue’s Instagram page posted an advertisement with a photo from her at the start of the event frightened and hiding in a crate with, “Sweet Lexa urgently needs a home…desperately seeking a home for Lexa immediately!!! Even if it’s temporary. NEEDS other dogs in the home, lots of them!!” I confront Patricia who appears to have no idea, and the event’s group chat, with Joyce admitting she got a foster-to-adopt and a great adoption application through that post. No one could answer to the lie about the foster-to-adopt claim from the adoption event or why I wasn’t notified at all. Joyce only stated that, “if you had an issue with Lexa being moved from you then to take it up with the Texas team” and I was blocked. Unclear of what that meant.
No replies to all our messages, email, and no number to call or offer to call. Still in the dark about what is happening and why - where is the puppy we lovingly raised and fiercely protected going? Why won’t anyone actually talk to us?
Sunday, April 10th. Patti texted me to confirm Lexa’s pickup time.I said I’m discussing adopting her and the transport is canceled. It was only after that we received a phone call from Randi, the volunteer who supervises the transports, AKA “Texas Team.”
Once again, another volunteer apparently not involved with the decision to remove Lexa, but here solely for her role in securing her transport. As condescending as she was the entire time, Randi was at least able to provide, “Lexa had a foster-to-adopt interest who filled out the application after she returned home from the event” who doesn’t live far from her. She stated she was unaware of what Stacey was sending to Patricia and was not there during the conversation in question - but when confronted with how troubling these events unfolded over these last 24 hours, Randi repeatedly deflected with, “but are you gonna give us OUR dog back?” Or, “but all the other dogs there were playing and running and she was the only one in a corner.” She continued in circles, incessantly interjecting with nothing of substance except, “I’ve never had such a hard time” about picking up a foster because “we do this all the time…perhaps the process seems out of wack to you.”
Upon recentering to the core of the issue - that an assumption was made and we were never presented the opportunity to dispute it, Randi made it known that, “even if we addressed these concerns at the event, it wouldn’t change the outcome.” We asked to speak to Stacey, considering all roads lead back to her. Randi didn’t believe she was available that day, “perhaps reachable, but don’t know.” Randi admitted she “purposefully unblocked my phone number” so we can contact her and find out more.
They took Lexa at 4pm that afternoon. She seemed excited to be going out for a walk again only to open the front door and see a volunteer holding a new leash towards her. The sudden terror on her face, visibly shaking and frantically searching for where to run away, was the last thing we ever wanted her to feel again. It was the most haunting, heart-wrenching thing we ever had to do.
Following Lexa’s pickup, there were no updates, no responses to our messages, still no Stacey, and blocked from the community as a whole. Public backlash on the rescue’s Instagram ad for Lexa got it deleted, but not forgotten. It wasn’t until my briefly-summarized Google review that we received any acknowledgement at all, albeit indirectly and publicly. The only feedback was in response to our adoption application for Lexa with Joyce addressing only the “negative” attention on social media, not Lexa. When offered the opportunity to admit their mistake, allowing us to also change our tune, Joyce placed the blame on me and these “inaccurate attacks.” We still have no answer as to what happened to Lexa, not even to provide assistance or advice to the new provider. Instead, Joyce continued to evade our primary concern (Lexa) with their primary concern (their reputation).
If you like second-hand, unclear information with miscommunication running rampant, provided with zero transparency and the utmost unprofessionalism, then Rescue Dogs Rock is for you.
All of the reviews referencing the terrible communication skills of these volunteers (and lack thereof from the founders) are valid. I’ve reached out to the public and encountered multiple similar experiences with withholding pertinent details or spreading misinformation, resulting in avoidable unhappy endings.
These poor dogs are ultimately the victims here, especially while under their continued care. They would rather cling to their pride than give a happy home for their rescues.
We became foster parents to raise these fur babies as our own - fully expecting to be involved in their growth for life, whether with us or with another loving family. To think anyone, even the rescue, would believe we’d accept her removal without explanation for why or where without due diligence chose the wrong family.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/28/2022
Our position remains the same as your last review: Crating for more than 4 to 6 hours is a red flag for us and not acceptable for fostering. 10 month old Lexa was cowering, hiding in a crate, while all the other dogs were well adjusted running and playing with the other dogs at the event. We immediately knew Lexa has not been properly socialized and a change had to be made immediately. This is absolutely no reflection on her foster family as they are kind and lovely people, just the wrong fit for Lexa. Our mission clearly states, our dogs come first, no matter what the circumstances are. We are here to support the dogs that we rescue first and foremost.
WARNING: DO NOT foster or donate to this unprofessional organization! I fostered a beautiful, intensely anxious puppy for the last 6-7 months who has since blossomed after many months of effort, only to have her ripped from our household without any direct explanation yet. They said she's getting picked up and already had a foster to adopt interest and hours later, they posted a very misleading ad on the rescue Instagram "desperately looking for a home, even a temporary one!!" with a picture of her at her worst moment they snuck in without transparency to us at all. Nobody ever reached out to directly communicate how she is elsewhere, or truly inquire with us their concerns. Have communicated with other fosters who are also very troubled about how this rescue is run. Still being brushed under the rug and ignored - do NOT trust them!!! Message me for full details and I'll be happy to share! We still know nothing about what happened to her from the rescue! Disgraceful to re-traumatize a dog without doing due diligence first.

We are very sorry that things did not work out for Lexa at her present foster home . We know they are a wonderful, kind family, just the wrong fit for Lexa. Lexa was brought to an adoption event whereby we were told by the foster Dad that Lexa is crated most of the day while both parents are at work and then again overnight. He told 3 different people the same exact thing. Crating for more than 4 to 6 hours is a red flag for us and not acceptable for fostering.
We adopted our rescue, Ferdie, now Flynn, this past week! The process was flawless from beginning to end. It took about a week to apply, be approved and pick up our furbaby. The process was thorough and fair and only had the best interest of the dog in mind. They obviously care deeply for all the animals and want the best, most suitable home for each of them.
I can’t say enough good things about Rescue Dogs Rock NY! I was already to 3 rescue dogs when I decided to add another small breed puppy to the family. I friend told me about RDRNY and I was lucky enough to see a picture of my boy at 1 day old after he had been rescued with his family from a shelter. I immediately applied to adopt him. After making sure I was the perfect fit for him I was able to bring my boy Finn (formerly Armani) home at 8 weeks old. Everyone I dealt with at RDRNY was so kind and caring, they make sure their dogs end up in perfect forever homes. I would recommend this rescue to anyone looking to adopt and hope to adopt from them again someday.
Let me tell you about the horrendous experience I had with Rescue Dogs Rock because if I could leave zero stars I would and I certainly will never recommend friends/family to adopt through them.
My name is Elizabeth and I’m a veterinary assistant at a specialty and emergency center in New York. When I first met Jameson he had just come up from Texas for a consultation with our neurologist. He had a raging skin infection at the time, eye infection, was cryptorchid and all of his incisors had the roots exposed, he had extreme tartar on his teeth and pockets of hair and debris stuck in his gums -- this all ON TOP of his neurologic issues. I fell in love with him and my mother and I submitted an application for him at the end of January. On 1/27 I received an email from Erin requesting I read through some documents and to set up a phone interview if we were still interested in proceeding with Jameson’s application. The phone interview went smoothly, Erin was very kind and told me I should expect someone to reach out very shortly to set up a home visit. On 2/1 Amanda reached out to me to schedule the home visit which we did virtually the following evening. Amanda was extremely kind in answering all of my questions and was very pleasant throughout the home interview process. From the very beginning I was very clear with RDR that my mother and I were not looking for just any dog, it was pure coincidence that Jameson came into our lives and we are suckers for an English bulldog, especially one with a sob story. I was very clear that we’ve had our heart broken by rescues in the past but we we’re willing to try again because of how special of a case Jameson was and knowing that he probably wouldn’t have a lot of interest due to his vast number of medical issues. On Sunday 2/5 I received a call from Rosa stating my mother and I had been approved. I asked if my mother could meet Jameson at his next neuro appt pending the foster mom’s comfortability as the hospital lobby was technically a public facility. Rosa stated she would have to speak with the higher ups as this is not something they do. At 1:15pm Rosa texted me back stating she spoke with the director and unfortunately would not be able to offer a meet and greet. I can’t possibly fathom how you adopt a dog out to someone without the person meeting the dog first but regardless my mother and I made the decision to proceed with the adoption. I texted Rosa back that there was a miscommunication as we were under the impression my mother could meet him as she is a co-adopter. I told Rosa we would still like to move forward and asked questions about his current medical issues, specifically if the rescue would be taking care of his dental issues and neuter as these are “pre-existing,” what the time frame would look like for this, and if Jameson had been set up with a new neurologist yet as his was moving out of state. I received no answer so on the morning of 2/9 I texted Rosa again stating it had been a few days and I hadn’t heard back from her. She asked for my name and I told her it was Elizabeth in regards to Jameson. Rosa texted me back that evening stating she would “find out and get back to me.” On the morning of 2/19 I texted Rosa again stating I was following up and that we would still like to move forward with the adoption and how could we proceed. Rosa asked me if we were still requesting the meet and greet, I stated we were not and was told she would pass along my message and someone will be reaching out to me. On 2/24 I texted Rosa stating it had been another week and no one had reached out to me yet from the rescue. I asked if there was someone I could follow up with as I was eager to make Jameson a part of our family. I received no response so I reached back out to Amanda as she was the last person I had contact with. Amanda stated she was unfortunately no longer with the rescue but would pass along my message to the appropriate party and stated it was best I continue trying to reach out to Rosa. I thanked Amanda for her timely response and on 2/26 messaged Rosa yet again stating I haven’t heard from anyone at RDR. I was told again that Rosa would pass along my message. On Sunday 2/27 I received an email stating my application was not approved at this time and wishing me luck in finding a new pet. I was stunned, heartbroken, frustrated and angry all at once. I texted Rosa after getting this email about getting an explanation as 3 weeks prior she told us we were approved. No response. On Tuesday 3/1 I texted Rosa stating that once again I had received no acknowledgement or response from her or RDR, that I was not trying to be rude but felt I deserved an explanation as to why I was told 3 weeks prior our application for Jameson had been approved and now it was denied without reason. I told her my mother and I were heartbroken and would appreciate an acknowledgement of the message and someone from the rescue to contact me directly regarding the decision change. Rosa explained she kept passing on the message as she is simply a processor who had no control over the final decision and told me I could contact Randi. Now let me tell you about Randi. I don’t know who decided to let this woman have any responsibility to speak with the public, let alone represent a rescue organization. Immediately after explaining who I was her tone changed to one that was condescending, she was nasty and had an attitude throughout the entire conversation. It was uncalled for. I feel the issues first began when I requested my mother meet Jameson, Randi was quick to bring this up stating it was a dealbreaker for us and that I was the one refusing to move forward when we were told this wasn’t possible. I told Randi this certainly was not the case and I could even show her the screenshot of the conversation where I stated I still wanted to move forward. Randi stated “well I didn’t see that in the message and we’re not moving forward anyway.” Randi then stated my mother and I should never have been approved as she does the final processing and no one else should have the right to make that decision. Randi stated we were denied because we work too long hours and are out of the house too long. I only work 4 days a week, my mom has a typical 8 hour day with the ability to work from home. We both have the option to take Jameson to work with us, something that was stated multiple times in our application and during our interviews. Randi stated it was not realistic to bring Jameson to and from work every day. I told her this would be 4 days a week and I work at a specialty/ER facility DIRECTLY WITH JAMESON’S NEUROLOGIST. Randi stated this didn’t matter, she wasn’t moving forward with our application and the neurologist was leaving anyway. Randi then stated Jameson wasn’t medically stable to be placed into a home at this time. When I asked why I was even allowed then to go through with his application (the still have him up on petfinder btw with no information about his copious medical issues) or why we weren’t told 3 weeks ago he wasn’t ready to be placed in a home or why we couldn’t revisit in a few months time I was given no response. Randi then implied that part of the decision was because I kept reaching our to Rosa and foster mom Barbara for answers and that I was in the wrong for this. I was eager to make Jameson part of my family and the foster mom was the one reaching out to ME with updates on how he was doing, asking how the application process was going, etc. (Sidenote, Barabara is an absolute angel of a human being and a phenomenal foster mom. She was always a pleasure to speak and interact with.) Then Randi went on to say I have too many dogs – I think 3 dogs is a pretty reasonable number especially considering one is a laid back senior bulldog that wants nothing but to eat and sleep on the couch all day long. My mother and I already had a plan in place for Jameson’s de-escalation period, we were going to convert the bathroom into his own special place for the two week period and then start very slow, controlled introductions with our other pups. I ended the conversation by telling Randi that it was really quite unfortunate she was making this decision as Jameson could have had a wonderful, loving home with someone who works in the veterinary field, has a great continuing relationship with his former neurologist and fully understands his needs. Randi gave no meaningful response and the conversation was over. Realistically Jameson is going to be a work in progress the rest of his life whether that be 6 months or 6 more years. This is something my mother and I fully understood and were committed to taking on. I’m sure he doesn’t receive much interest after informing adopters about his copious issues and I really don’t understand how Randi expects him to find a better home than the one we could have provided. All of my coworkers said my mother and I were crazy for even considering adopting him given his multitude of medical issues. I feel like this entire decision was made without all the facts and full of bias. This entire process was unorganized, someone was always reaching out to someone else for answers, there was no communication from the rescue and when I was finally able to speak with Randi she was exceedingly rude and made me to feel like the bad guy for consistently following up and asking questions. My feelings aside, having Randi as an integral part of RDR is doing them an extreme disservice and most importantly is doing a disservice to any of the dogs she is responsible for homing. I’ve had dogs for 18 years, I’ve been working in the veterinary industry for 3 and I am appalled at how this woman spoke to me. I’m actually embarrassed for RDR and strongly urge other to adopt elsewhere.

We are so very sorry for your experience with RDR. There definitely was miscommunication. We will work to help insure this does not happen again in the application process. RDR takes pride in doing our best to make sure of dogs go to the best home for them. Again truly sorry and apologize for your experience.
while i do believe this rescue does the best that they can with the many animals they help, it’s pretty sad that some animals they push donation posts for on their instagram essentially get swept under the rug. there was a sweet little dog on their ig a few months ago named Lilly who they posted asking for donations as she had contracted parvo and after making that post and raising nearly 2,500 dollars, the rescue never posted an update about her. no tribute post saying she didn’t make it, no she’s getting better post. it is only recently after surfing through their instagram do I see that they updated their caption on the original post to say that she passed away after people started asking what happened. this is, keep in mind almost 2 full months and almost 2,500 dollars after their original post. If you’re going to update your followers on critical cases, do it the right way please.

You are absolutely correct!! We could use you to volunteer with us. We would love to have you! A fresh set of eyes would be amazing. Just to give you a small view of who and what we are made of here it goes. We are all overwhelmed and exhausted volunteers. We work weekends, days, nights, and holidays. Our phones ring all hours of the day and night. We don’t take breaks - ever. Why? If we take a break animals suffer or die. It’s tragic. We neglect our jobs, our families, and our health to help the helpless. We have made a choice to do this and we have no regrets but we need you to know what really happens in rescue. What we are up against - daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. Minute by minute things can change dramatically. It’s an emotional rollercoaster. Truly, we know there are times things fall through the cracks and we appreciate your feedback. Please know we do put our all in - every single day. The emotional side of medical rescue is soul crushing. Perfect example…
I had a terrible experience with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. On 1/13/22 I submitted an application to adopt a small 2 year old dog with a congenital defect. On 1/16/22 I received a letter of rejection filled with misinformation.
1. I am not eligible because I am out of the house too long, which according to the letter is more than 6 hours per day..
Actually I am out of the house 2 to 3 hours per WEEK, for food shopping and an occasional appointment.
2. I have declawed and unaltered pets.
Actually, I have two cats, that are not declawed and are both neutered.
3. I have too many pets
Are two dog friendly cats too many pets?
4. The dog is not a good fit for my home.
I own a single family home with a backyard and a dog park near by.
5. I surrendered a pet in the past.
I never surrendered a pet.
6. I am too young.
This is the craziest reason. I am over 65!!
7. That he is no longer available.
As of today, 1/21/22, he is still on the website.
When I received the letter of rejection on 1/16/22, I e mailed a letter stating that this must be a mistake, thinking they mixed my application with someone else, and I submitted a new application. I did not get any reply.
I think it is terribly sad that Rescue Dogs Rock NYC have deprived this beautiful little dog of having a loving home with an owner who would have corrected is disability and given him a great life.

We have a very strict set of standards and guidelines in place that have to be met before any potential adopter is considered or approved. We will never just place a dog simply because they are “wanted” by a specific applicant. We place dogs in homes that we feel are the best fit for each individual dog. Unfortunately your partial list above does not include “other” reasons you cannot answer. We are sorry you misread the paragraph bolded at the beginning “Reasons MAY INCLUDE ONE OR MORE BUT NOT LIMITED TOO” you just assumed each and every one pertained to you. This little dog has not been deprived of anything, he is loved and living his best life.
I recently had a very poor experience with this organization. Our family found a bulldog in need of a forever home on their website. I went through the application and interview process. All appeared to be in order. The dog in question had a wonderful bio written from RDR's perspective. During the interview, their adoption case manager could tell me little about the dog's history (completely understandable), other than to say in passing "the dog just returned from hospital the night before". The dog ended up being special needs as he has some type of neurological disorder, needed 5K for an MRI to find out the nature of the problem. Oh, and one more thing, the dog couldn't walk. How you post this dog as adoptable and fail to mention his health is very concerning. Possibly why family wasn't allowed to visit or meet my current dog prior to adoption.
The adoption manager understood why we wouldn't be adopting the dog, but said at least I wouldn't need to go through the application process again as everything checked out. (references, interview, living situation etc.). I donated to the dog's recovery and sadly moved on.
2 days later I received notice my application was denied with no explanation. (except for a generic list of reasons that I don't know are applicable to me, Was like a slap in the face and an overall disappointing experience.

We are sorry for this confusion and would like to look into it but we can not find any records under this email. If you would like us to look into this then please email info@rescuedogsrocknyc.org with your personal contact information. Please note attention "Joyce" in the body of your email. Thank you
Meh.
They could be worse. They could be better. They were pretty quick on the application and I actually loved the volunteer that did our virtual home tour but once everything was approved and they received payment it seemed to go a bit downhill.
The foster seemed anxious to get rid of our puppy to be honest when we drove 8 hours to pick her up. She was a hot mess in terms of allergies, skin, vaginitis and severe entropian in both eyes. I was a vet tech and have had multiple rescues. I was relatively shocked that she was spayed at about three months. Two months later we received an email from the rescue telling us that they will relinquish her to us once we provide documentation of spay or neuter….I just didn’t respond.
We have gotten her skin and allergies under control but still have the vaginitis and entropian. I do not think she will outgrow the entropian. We will move forward with surgical intervention but this is exactly why people drop dogs off at shelters…this is a dog that has a defect that was visible to me (though I didn’t care), that may not be apparent to a regular dog lover, that will be extremely expensive to treat at some point in life that was NO where in her records. There should have been more transparency from multiple vets that saw her before she came to us…again…spayed at 3 1/2 months.
Thank God we love her and have lots of money.
I fell in love with a picture of my Noah. I knew I had to have him. Everyone was quick and efficient . I met with him and my girl Gemma, it sealed the deal. Quick and easy application process. Thorough process and top notch adoption processors. Thank you RDR for making my family complete!!
My wife and I adopted from Rescue Dogs Rock. We couldn't be happier. The process was not the easiest however it proves how much they care for these dogs. The volunteers we worked with were all great and our puppy is the best! If and when we are ready to adopt again we will undoubtedly go back to Rescue Dogs Rock.
I am forever grateful to RDR for rescuing my fur baby Charleigh! I had never heard of this organization before, but I reached out when I saw Charleigh on PetFinder. RDR was wonderful through the entire process. Once my application was approved, they put me in touch with Charleigh's foster mom. She was so helpful, answered all my questions about Charleigh, and even sent me photos while I waited for Charleigh. Then, RDR coordinated a small army of volunteers to get Charleigh from her foster in New Jersey to me in Pennsylvania. The RDR team goes above and beyond for so many dogs to give them the lives they deserve. Thank you RDR!
I am so blessed to have found this rescue! My sister had adopted her first dog Penny from RDR and I was lucky enough to adopt my first dog Cash from the same foster. His foster Barbara was so helpful during the adoption process and answered all my questions. The application process was smooth and I adopted my sweet boy in less than a month. I recommend this rescue to all of my family and friends! They do such a great job finding loving homes for these animals!
I heard about Rescue Dogs Rock through a family member and ultimately adopted and welcomed a second dog into our family. I was also able to meet with a dog behaviorist and learn more about my dog, which helped us find activities and training support so they could thrive. A great network to be a part of with lots of resources...and of course I love what they do for dogs in need.
We adopted our pitmix from Rescue Dogs Rock NYC in 2018 and had a great experience. The process was easy yet very thorough - it required an application process, vet reference, two personal references, a virtual home visit and an in person home visit. This is exactly what should be required when giving animals their forever homes - RDR goes the extra mile to make sure their adoptables are going to good families. The whole process took approximately 3-4 weeks and I was kept up to date throughout. We are furever grateful to RDRNYC for giving us our furry family member! Also, please be mindful that animal adoption processes take time and that most rescue organizations have volunteers who have full time jobs, families and animals of their own - everyone is doing what they can to help.
Adopting a senior dog is not an easy choice. So many seniors and special need dogs get overlooked and not much interest. When our family decided we needed to offer another senior the love and family it so well deserves, we needed the right fit (we already had 4 dogs and 2 cats) Rescue Dogs Rock nyc volunteers were amazing. Although there were tears along the way (only being able to take just one) Rescue Dogs Rock took the time to learn about us and our pack, to provide us with the best possible choice. The foster family was amazing, offering videos and many conversations to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and our pack. We adopted with confidence ,without any meet and greets or even remembering what breed of dog we were getting. When we picked up Betty, she could not have been more perfect! She immediately became a member of our family and pack. As I said, adopting a senior is not always easy.... Our Betty was only with us for just over 2 years and we are Furever grateful to Rescue Dogs Rock for Betty. We cannot tell you how much love and joy she has brought to us and so many others in such a short time. Since Betty, ( white boxer/bull mix pictured) we have adopted another senior from Rescue dogs Rock and puppy. (Our pack is currently at 4 ) and we will only go to Rescue Dogs Rock when it’s time for another. Rescue Dogs Rock is committed to providing the best homes possible for the dogs they save and although the process can take some time, I would not have it any other way! We are sincerely grateful for all they do and the team of volunteers that spend hours of their own time to help save so many.
I am so grateful to the Texas team and Rescue Dogs Rock for our sweet baby girl Annie, fka Candy. My fiancé and I had initially planned to foster but wound up adopting because she is just the sweetest angel. Our experience with this organization was incredible. Annie came to us quite sick from Texas - we can only imagine the state she was in when these incredible people rescued her off the street. Annie is an older pup, she came heart worm positive, among a litany of other things. Rescue dogs rock followed up on our precious girl weekly to ensure she was on her way to getting better and went above and beyond to make sure we had all the information we needed to help her thrive. Even after adopting Annie, they still check in just to see how she is doing. The amount of care they put in to these dogs and finding the proper home to care for them. I cannot say enough about the work that they do. Thank you for rescuing our baby!
When a friend couldn't keep her adorable, but very active, Portuguese Water Dog, she asked me to help find her a great home. I reached out to Joyce Sheridan from RDR and the rest is history. They found an amazing family who already had a Porty and they came to pick her up from us in Brooklyn. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this rescue. It doesn't matter how bad of a medical case they are faced with, they do not flinch. I love RDR.
I am an RDR adopter, turned volunteer with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. Having worked in law enforcement for almost 32 years, I considered myself extremely fortunate to be part of the blue family. They are there during the best of times.........and the worst of times.
I feel the same way about Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. The RDR family is simply amazing!
I started volunteering in 2017 as a foster, and corresponded with the Foster Coordinator, who was awesome. When one of my foster pups had a health issue, she responded to every single text, and answered all my worried phone calls. She was my first contact with RDR, and why I chose to volunteer with this rescue organization. I have expanded my volunteering roles to include application processing and transport. I have witnessed firsthand so many, many success stories and happy endings for thousands (YES THOUSANDS), of neglected, abused and unwanted dogs. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC truly does ROCK!!!
Previous Stories
I have been a volunteer with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC since 2017. RDR rescues the worst of the worst. We get the dogs the medical attention that they so desperately need. Once they are healthy enough to travel, they are placed into one of our amazing foster homes. Some of these dogs have never stepped foot inside of a home. Some do not know what stairs are, or how to navigate them. Some have never felt the loving touch of a human. Some have been abused or mistreated, and only know the cruelty that a human has bestowed on them. The profile and bio are created early on in the rescue process. It is not until a dog is placed into a foster home that we begin to know more about what the dogs needs are, and what their personality is like........as they begin to feel safe for the first time in their lives. It may be discovered that the dog would only do best in a suburban setting with a fenced in yard. Or that the dog would be better suited for older children in the home. So........to the woman who was angry when the foster recommended a home with a yard, please keep in mind that these dogs are just beginning their lives and finally learning how to be a dog. RDR is always about the dogs.
We have adopted two dogs from RDRNYC - one in April 2019, a puppy from Alabama and one in June 2020, a 1.5 year old from Texas. Both of our experiences were great and we worked with different teams during each process.
We adopted both of them directly from transport and after going through the application process, received clear and concise instruction on how pickup worked. The process was also very thorough; we received detailed instructions on how to help our dogs acclimate and everyone was very helpful when we decompressed them both upon arrival. Our 1.5 year old also had medical issues, as she was found with thousands of ticks on her on the side of the road (!). RDRNYC covered everything and sent her up with the appropriate medications to care for her when she arrived and she is healthy and happy in our home today with her fur sibling.
Thanks RDR for all you do!
When I adopted King from RDR I knew nothing about rescue. He is the 1st of 4 dogs that I would adopt. My experience with RDR, during that adoption, is why I am here 5/years later One of my dogs is a former bait dog. She’s the only survivor of a dog fighting ring, and needed extensive surgery and hospitalization. RDR made sure she got the expensive care that she needed. Now she is a very happy member of my pack. Even though I was a full time working RN I knew I needed to join their team of volunteers to help other abused dogs find their happily ever after so I joined their team as a medical coordinator. Since 2015 RDR has never refused needed medical care and many times have gone above and beyond, I am proud to be one of the many volunteers that make up the RDR family!!
I have had the great pleasure of volunteering with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC for nearly 3 years now. I am so proud and happy to be part of an organization that cares so much about the animals they rescue. The work is done by dedicated volunteers who have a heart for the innocent souls RDR saves. Each person is motivated by love and caring for those animals. We hurt when they hurt. We rejoice when they find a great family to spend their lives. Absolutely nothing makes us happier. Some people are upset when they are not approved for the dog they want; however, our responsibility is to find the best fit for the dog. Our entire objective and desire is to find the best possible home for each dog or cat that we rescue. I know from experience that nothing will be spared medically, training, or otherwise to give these animals a wonderful future.. I could not be happier to be connected to this wonderful rescue, and I recommend it highly if you are planning to adopt!
For the past 6 years I am both a medical foster and an adopter for this rescue. RDRNYC rescues some of the most horrifically abused and neglected dogs I have ever seen. With the belief that every dog deserves a chance to live a happy, healthy and protected life has not only impacted me but also helped shape my 5 children. The support I have always received for my fosters and the continued relationship I have with their adopters makes me very proud to work with this organization.
I have been involved with rescue for many years and RDR is just amazing on so many fronts! Their dogs never go without and it is a well run rescue. RDR is very careful about who gets one of their dogs. If you are not a fit it just won’t happen. Isn’t that the way it should be? Everyone works together to find the most beautiful homes for these babies!! It’s brilliant!!
For the past 2.5 years I have been a volunteer with Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. Everyone involved has a tremendous love of animals and seeks to find loving and appropriate homes for each dog. Like people, dogs have their own set of personalities and individual needs, and RDR strives to match each dog to its forever home that best fits those needs. I recommend this rescue highly.
It's unfortunate so many people have a poor experience with Rescue Dogs Rock, as it takes away from the good work they do. Based on our experience adopting our dog from them three years ago, I believe their heart is in the right place and they are saving countless dogs from a horrible existence -- but it's true that their communication skills are terrible. Luckily, the wonderful volunteer who did our in-home interview was an exception and kept us informed during the process. When our sweet hound pup arrived from Georgia, he was about 5 months old and healthy but clearly had a rough start to life; he would barely let us touch him and was afraid of everything. Since then we've worked diligently to help him overcome his fears and it's been such a rewarding process. He has blossomed into a joyful, trusting and well-adjusted dog who clearly loves his life. I shudder to think what would have happened to him if RDR hadn't stepped in. If anyone from RDR is reading these reviews, I encourage you to do what you can to improve communication and ensure that prospective adopters have a positive experience, because, although it may seem like a secondary concern, it will ultimately help more animals get adopted into good homes. And to some of the people who are leaving strongly worded negative reviews, try to be understanding and recognize that rescuing animals and finding homes for them is tough and noble work; RDR may not be the most coddling organization but they do have the animals' best interests at heart and are most likely doing the best they can.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/25/2021
We appreciate your feedback and your kindness!! We have heard you and we are definitely working on our communication. We are all volunteers and sadly sometimes there just isn’t enough hours in the day to get to everyone. Trust us when we say we are not making excuses because we clearly need to tighten up our practices. We do try our best but sometimes it’s just not enough so we are trying to pinpoint our weak areas in order to find the best solution. We would love to hear more about your experience so we can figures out exactly where the communication breakdown was. It will help us a great deal to fine tune our processes in the future. Thank you for rescuing and giving a pup in need a wonderful life! Please email us with details outlining what you experienced. You can email us at info@rescuedogsrocknyc.org Please put attention Judi or Joyce in subject line.
We filled out an application for a specific dog and within a day we were contacted regarding our application. The first staff member did an intake on us and by the next day we were already contacted by the next staff member who was in charge of a home visit. She conducted a virtual home visit with me, my husband and my three boys. She answered many questions and provided us with lots of resources regarding our potential adoption of a dog. Then, we were put in touch with the foster family who asked us additional questions and was very sad to see our dog leave her home. She answered many of our questions and warned us that our dog would be shy and timid for a while. He was a stray since he was a puppy, and he never had owners. She took excellent care of him.
The next day we told RDR that we wanted to proceed with the adoption and we provided a donation. Within that week, I had a few more conversations with the foster mom, and she sent me many videos and pictures of our dog... it was very clear that she loved him. The next weekend, we met the transport from NC and Ziggy was ours.
Every single step of the way, RDR was professional and organized. They made sure that we understood the implications of adopting a rescue dog, and they made the process as easy as possible from beginning to end. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks and Ziggy is still timid and shy, but every day there is a new and exciting development with his adjustment to our family. Something as small as a tail wag or a kiss on your hand is an amazing event when you adopt a rescue that has never known life off a street. Thank you to RDR for our new furry family member!
We adopted a puppy from this organization with no problems. They did a home interview and approved us. We had the puppy with us for 5 months when he started showing symptoms of mental issues. Hallucinations, sight issues, protecting nothing, and most importantly biting us and attacking us leaving marks and scars for seemingly no reason. The vet recommended we get rid of him but we kept him for 2 more months trying to find someone who could help our puppy.
His condition started worsening which led us to the difficult decision to give him back to the company. We have a 6 yr old in the house who could potentially be seriously injured, and we wanted to find him a home that would have more experience. The company and the foster mother attacked us, called us clueless online and did not listen to any of the issues we presented.
His condition continued to decline and only when his foster mother started experiencing the same issues we had did she get him evaluated, where he was given prescription pills.
Now he is up for adoption again with no mention of the issues we had presented and again attacking us in the same adoption post. I pray this puppy gets a home where someone will help him, but this company’s ego is putting him on the fast track to giving him to another family who may get injured.

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/09/2021
Unfortunately, there is enough blame to go around where this dog was concerned. Sadly, we defiantly are not void of blame. What we can say is your uncertainty on how to handle this dog from a training standpoint made it difficult for us to properly assess what was actually happening with him. We were also receiving feedback from our professional trainer that there was not an issue directly with this dog but more a case of improper handling. Aside from that we have no control over what a foster says or doesn’t say to you. Fosters are valued volunteers, not paid employees. She simply said what was on her mind. To say it is our ego driving if a dog goes up for adoption is outrageous, slanderous, and frankly ridiculous. Honestly, that statement doesn’t even make any sense. We make informed decisions based off of our trainers and our experienced fosters assessments. Clearly, nothing to do with ego.
We filled out an adoption application, and never received a reply. It takes but a minute to send an email. Why leave people hanging when they want to adopt a cat or dog?? I think it is a rude way to run a business. Their website even states, "***If you do not hear from us within 5 days, please assume you are not a match for the cat you applied for***" hey should rethink their process.
What REALLY irritated me was that they had time to add me to their email list to ask for money for a dog that needs medical care, but couldn't bother replying to my application. Disgusting.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We are sorry to hear that you had an unfavorable experience. You are right! We heard you and we listened. We have since started replying to applications received. Unfortunately, we have found people are also unhappy with that if we choose not to move forward with their application. However, responding is the right thing to do so that is what we are doing. We thank you for your feedback.
First off, I adopted a RDR dog. She is the love of our life. However, if I could give RDR 0 stars I would. My best friend fosters, which is how we adopted our dog. RDR appears as a good rescue, but they are RECKLESS. They take dogs on the verge of death, post them to social media for clout, and then afterwords completely lose interest in the dog. When we adopted our dog, she was medically cleared by RDR. when we took her to our vet we found out she had stage 3 heart worm that was completely neglected by RDR. We had to haraunge RDR to speak with the medical director, after, the best RDR would offer was to send our baby 2 hours across the state to a veterinarian (who was then arrested for animal abuse) who would do the treatment for “less money”. In the end we paid for it completely by ourselves. We love our fur baby. But stay FAR away from these people.
I will add my voice to those who have submitted negative comments about the Rescue Dogs Rock organization. I have 40 years experience owning dogs, all rescues who have had long and happy lives. (See photo). I have also had professional experience training dogs for the deaf.
I heard nothing from RDR and when I inquired I was told : "Our Adoptions team has determined that you are not a match for our available dogs at this time."
I really wonder what they are looking for. I regret having donated to them. Will not do so ever again given how many other worthwhile and needy rescues there are.
Have you noticed how many bad reviews they have gotten? Makes you wonder about the authenticity of the few 5 star reviews!

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We have a very strict set of standards and guidelines in place that have to be met before any potential adopter is approved. Not every application is able to be paired with a dog to move forward to the approval process. We have saved over 7500 animals since our inception so through much trial and error we have learned what works for the animals we save as a rescue. To leave us a poor review simply based on us not moving forward with your application seems to be completely unwarranted. Just as you can question the authenticity of our positive reviews we can also question the authenticity of our poor and seemingly disingenuous reviews. We have placed thousands of animals in wonderful homes resulting in multiple thrilled people and happy families. That being said we hope you were able find an amazing dog for yourself.
we had a wonderful experience with RDR. I tried adopting from others but they never got back to me. RDR was extremely organized and kept in touch with me every step of the way! One person called to say I was approved to adopt the one of the puppy's they had rescued from the South. Another person contacted my references and vet. The next person did a face time interview with me and then the last person called to tell me where to meet for the puppy drop off. This has been a wonderful experience! And our new puppy, Jack, has been an absolute delight and a wonderful addition to our home with our other dog and cat!!!! Theresa

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We truly appreciate it! We are so happy to hear that Jack is doing so well! We love updates. So amazing that he found a wonderful forever home where he is loved and treasured. Hope and your family have a healthy and safe year ahead.

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
OH! Jack is SOOOO adorable!! Look at that precious smile! Please give him lots of kisses from the RDR crew.
This rescue has available dogs listed for months on petfinder.com and constant Instagram posts at their foster homes, but rejects interested adopters based on a laundry list of generic excuses.
Another example of a “holier than thou” rescue.
Steer clear.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We hate to be presumptuous but it sounds like you have been turned down before by other “holier than thou” rescues. We have a very strict set of guidelines that we follow when reviewing applications to be processed. If certain standards are not met we pass. WHY? Because everything we do stems from what we believe in our heart of hearts is best for these animals. So, If putting our animals A#1 first makes us a “holier than thou” rescue than so be it. We will never apologize for standing behind our animals. Leaving a poor review simply because you didn’t like the email you received seems a bit disingenuous.
My family decided that we wanted to adopt a puppy. I contacted at least 12 rescues but every time no one responded or the pup was adopted. Through my research I saw that puppy adoption is now a craze because people are home and have the time at home to train the puppies/dogs. I wanted a puppy because my dog passed away with cancer and my other dog was just sad and unmotivated just laying around.
RDR responded with the pup I wanted. Others did too but had bad ratings regarding vetting dogs before they came to the house. I did see a few bad reviews here also, but I decided to take a chance.
My RDR puppy was delivered well taken care of and healthy but very very skinny( obviously not their fault since it was a street puppy). I am adopting a second pup through them. After they approve you they do remain in contact. I haven’t had an issue communicating with them. The process is funky because of COVID you cannot meet and greet and even see the puppy before you get them. You can ask questions about the dogs background (I am not sure what the non Covid practices are). We had to meet the transport at a drop off area. They stop in PA, NJ, and NYC. We were there with about 30 other dog adopters. All dogs transported in a crate safely. Buses looked safe and the RDR representative was present to ensure things ran smoothly.
My advice is to talk to your vet and have a list of questions to ask the rescue about the puppy. It’ll help gauge whether it is a good fit for your circumstances.
RDR followed up to ensure everyone settled in and are okay. I am adopting again this coming weekend for a second puppy. Hopefully that will also go smoothly.
I was contacted by RDR for a phone interview and then a virtual home visit my references were checked and my vet too never was advised if I was approved or not approved the one volunteer was very rude and sarcastic they get your hopes up and you never hear from them again, stay away from this rescue

We are terribly sorry to hear of this. We would love to know more about the chain of events and who you were working with. You should’ve been notified of the status of your application once the process was started. We would need your full name to review our notes. We are a large rescue and it might’ve been truly just been an oversight. Not that it makes your experience any better but it was likely not done with malice. Again we would love to know more so we can hopefully improve our checks, balances, and processes in the future. Please email us with details outlining what you experienced. You can email us at info@rescuedogsrocknyc.org Please put attention Judi or Joyce in subject line. Thank you!!
Rescue Dogs Rock really made the adoption process seamless for our family. Each team member promptly answered our questions and matched us up with a dog that would appropriately suit our needs. Every deadline was met and the staff we worked with were professional, kind, and truly interested in finding the right placement for each dog. I would highly recommend this rescue service!!

We are so happy to hear you were happy with the process. Thank you for offering feedback. It's incredibly helpful and much appreciated. We wish you a safe and healthy year ahead.
I've been applying for adoption of a dog with various rescue organizations for months, and most of them don't even bother getting back to you! RDR NYC got back fairly quickly, and both a background check of references, a screening interview, and a video tour of my home -- all reassuring, meaning they take the placement of these rescue animals VERY seriously. (I'd inquired with a few alleged "rescues" that rang alarms when they required NO references, interviews, or background checks, but had a huge adoption fee.) One approved by RDR, After a few misses where someone else got a newly posted dog I'd been interested in, they got in touch with me about a wonderful, sweet, "senior" pup who is everything I dreamed of in a new doggie companion. Not only were they professional all along the way, unlike many rescues that have a high adoption fee plus a charge for neutering/microchipping, RDR covers spay/neuter and any pressing medical conditions, usually while they are in foster, as well as microchipping. The fee is in the form of a relatively small -- $200 -- donation, which is amazing. Their all-volunteer model of dedicated fosters, transporters, etc apparently keeps costs down. These guys are the real deal -- rescuing difficult cases from high-kill situations, bringing them to home foster situations as they are evaluated and treated for any health issues, and doing sensitive "matchmaking" with adopters so these pups all have forever homes.
One thing to note: At this time, there is a HUGE demand for animal adoptions, so naturally there is a wait with most rescues, and the GOOD rescues, like Rescue Dogs Rock, take time to carefully screen potential adopters to make sure these pups are going to loving homes that suit their temperament. Best bet is to put in an application and go through the screening process, so when you see the ideal dog to adopt, you'll be right on top of the list...
Rescue Dogs Rock NYC really do rock!! I've gone through another rescue group in the past and I was reluctant to do it again because they were so difficult to deal with. This wasn't the case for this rescue group. These people are actually doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. I dealt with at least 5 people and each were extremely sweet and pleasant to work with. Not to mention we got the most AMAZING pup out of it. We could not be happier with our experience. Thank you so much!!

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
YAY! We are thrilled to hear this! Thank you so much for your kind words :) We truly appreciate it! Love that you got the most AMAZING pup. That's the best part for us. Finding fabulous homes for these babies and completing families is what we are all about. Hope you have a blessed and safe year ahead.
I adopted two amazing pups from this rescue. The process was incredible both times. The volunteers were so friendly, the process was nice and seamless, the pups were taken such good care of. When we got Bernie, they even gave us a bed and toys for him! Both Bernie and Mo have been with us about 2 and a half years and they are so well behaved and sweet. I would recommend RDR to everyone.
Someone I know adopted a dog from here despite her lease forbidding pets! The dog had a cherry eye and needed hernia repair, neither condition was treated by the rescue. When the landlord found out she had to give up the dog. She gave the dog to her mother. Her mother walks the dog only 2-3 times per day, its cherry eye had not been treated and I doubt its hernia has been treated either. The dog has become very overweight and it has injured its leg and is limping. It has not seen a vet for its injury. Rescue Dogs Rock has FAILED this little dog in multiple ways. They provided inadequate veterinary care for it, very poor background checks and no follow ups to be sure the dog is being well cared for. This is shameful.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/20/2021
I can say with confidence this absolutely could not have happened as described. We have very strict guidelines that we follow for our approval process. One of those guidelines are we speak with EVERY landlord before approving an application. Did you ever try to contact us with your concerns? We would like to get to the bottom of this and would love for you to contact us via email so we can discuss your concerns. Here is our email: info@rescuedogsrocknyc.org please put attention Judi or Joyce in subject line. Thank you!!

As of today we still have not heard from you. We would love to get this resolved as soon as possible.

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
We still have not heard back from you. If you are truly concerned for this dogs well being we hope you will give us the information needed to resolve this issue.
We applied to adopt a puppy through them. We have a house, fenced in yard and driveway, I work from home, have excellent references. We have 2 rescue kitties, not through them, and basically I have wanted a puppy the cats and puppy can grow together. I never heard from them after I applied. I sent an email and was told they received my application and I am not a good match for any of their rescues, but never got a reason why. So is it cause I am older, not too I am 52, or is it they really don't care about placing these animals in good homes! So thoroughly disgusted.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy. We receive hundreds of applications for puppies and our puppy team is tasked with the unpleasant chore of having to choose who moves forward and who doesn’t. Unfortunately, not everyone moves forward. We can assure you your age had nothing to do with your application not being chosen. We do have a very strict set of guidelines that we follow, as well. We don’t know the circumstances behind what happened with your application as your username is not your full name so we are unable to search for an answer as to why your application was not chosen. We hope you found a wonderful pup to grow up with your kitties!!
Was sent an e-mail tonight listing reasons why I wasn't good enough to adopt a pet through them. Reasons range from the simple "this animal isn't available" to "your name was found on a public 'Do Not Adopt' List," which I KNOW is not the case. This organization wants the donations and help, but isn't willing to adopt animals to the places they're wanted. Good luck to them, turning so many people down. I won't be applying here again.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We have saved over 7500 animals since our inception so through much trial and error we have learned what works for us as a rescue. We have a very strict set of standards and guidelines in place that have to be met before any potential adopter is approved. We will never just place a dog simply because they are “wanted” by a specific applicant. We place dogs in homes that we feel are the best fit for each individual dog. It is very possible that the dog you wanted was no longer available so to leave us a poor review simply based on us not moving forward with your application is quite unfair.
Not a good experience in trying to do the right thing and rescue a dog... I am a veterinarian who has several rescue dogs. I recently lost my "heart dog" to kidney disease and looked to RDR to adopt.
Well, being a veterinarian who works and volunteers with dog rescues, who has impeccable references and a partially fenced yard... this isn't "good enough" for this organization. I have 9 small dogs, all but 1 is under 10 pounds) and yes, I work so a dog may be in a crate for 8 hours 4-5 days a week (some of the better behaved dogs can stay out... but otherwise it's safest in their crates). I never travel and the one vacation spot I go to is my cabin in Maine where all the dogs get to go. They said the dog I was interested in "wouldn't be good with so many dogs" and "wouldn't be able to be in a crate for 8 hours a day" and they didn't have any dogs that fit that bill.
They have NO dogs that can be crated for 8 hours and are good with other little dogs? My dogs have the life! It's like going to the dog park every day! These folks say they pull the tough cases, well some dog is dying somewhere because RDR wouldn't adopt out to my sub-par home so they'd have space and funds to rescue another. Shameful! Donate to an organization that actually cares about the animals and isn't on a power trip.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We as a rescue have a strict set of standards that have to be met before a potential adopter is approved. Crating a small dog under 10 pounds for 8 hours a day without being walked is just not what we are looking for in an adopter. It would be difficult for us to confidently place one of our dogs in a home with 9 other dogs simply because it would be too great of an unknown. When we place a dog it has to be done with absolute belief that the outcome will be positive. We have no doubt that you are a wonderful dog owner. That never came into question. We simply have guidelines in place that we enforce as a rescue. For you to leave us a bad review for no other reason other than we decided we could not move forward with your application is unfair. This is not about us having a “Power Trip” it’s about us standing by our dogs 100% and doing what we feel is best for them. Best of luck in you endeavors to find another dog and we are very sorry for your loss.
We have had a terrible experience with RDR, after which we would not recommend them to anyone. There is a reason that this site is essentially the only place to leave a review on them.
While not all volunteers that we dealt with we’re bad, the organization clearly has issues.
We adopted our dog from them, and she showed up with a laundry list of medical conditions that were not disclosed to us. Prior surgery on an ankle, dewclaw removal, gastroplexy, and a MRSA infection.
When we found out about her issues (when she got to us from the transport!) RDR told us they would take care of any the Vet care related to her issues. They were insistent that their adoption volunteer told us everything they knew about the dog. We were told by volunteers in their medical dept. that we could bring her in to have follow up treatment, then we were told that the rescue would not cover the visits because “the dog would not have been allowed to travel without a clean bill of health.” This is after they had instructed us to bring her in, and we were physically at the vet. At this point we were told “you can give the dog back to us and we will refund you.”
Avoid this rescue at all costs. I would never recommend them after the experience that we have had. They’re too large and don’t seem to care very much about the well being of the dogs they are adopting off of transport from the south.
My experience with this organization is negative and I find them untrustworthy. They had a dog with a handicap that I thought would find a good home with me. I went through all of the interviews and virtual home inspection. The 2 ladies who I dealt with who are volunteering their time were excellent, friendly and professional I passed all tests and was considered ideal- references checked out, vet report good, I have 2 of the same breed, large fenced yard, work from home for years 90% of time, large home and experience introducing new dogs to a home. I was told that my situation was ideal and that all was good and would be getting a call from whoever had the dog now and make arrangements the pick up. So I got everything ready for him at home. 5 days later no call so emailed again and a day later got an email back that he was adopted elsewhere like no big deal. Of course I was disappointed. I spoke to others who have adopted or worked for adoption agencies and they have never seen such action or someone would renege like this. It shows either disorganization, bad ethics, dishonesty or incompetence but either way personally I have zero trust in those at the top of this organization. Even those who had worked through the application process were surprised. My advice- think twice about looking for a dog with them or you may have a similar experience

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the handling of your application. Unfortunately, we are unable to research what happened with your application since we don’t have your name. It’s not unusual for one dog to get many applications. We have to choose the best home for that specific dog. We are unclear as to if someone promised this dog to you. If someone promised this dog to you it should’ve never happened. If that did happen we sincerely apologize. Our processors are generally very good about making it clear that just because you applied for a specific dog doesn’t mean you will get that dog. You can be approved to adopt but not necessarily get the dog you applied for if there were other approved applicants in front of you or if another applicant is a better fit for the dog. We always choose the best applicant for each dog. Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescue pup!!
Horribly disorganized and poor follow through. This organization was the first org I went to when I started looking for a puppy. I was delighted to see how fast they were at contacting me for an interview, checking my references and setting up a home visit. After all of this, I was excited at the thought of getting matched with a puppy. Unfortunately, I heard absolutely nothing from them. I e mailed like 4 times and my e mails were constantly ignored. If I got a reply, it was always a different person. I was so frustrated, upset and heartbroken that I had gone through the whole adoption process just to be ignored and unmatched with a puppy. I live in a beautiful home with a backyard and have a lot of love to give. There are so many animals out there that are in need of a home, yet, they were completely irresponsible and unresponsive with follow up. I am completely disappointed in my experience with this organization. This is probably why they don’t have a yelp or google reviews. I do not recommend going through this org at all.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
We are terribly sorry that you had an unfavorable experience with our rescue. What you are describing never should’ve happened. We are unable to research what happened here as your username is not your full name. I would love to get to the bottom of what happened so we can learn from our mistakes and better ourselves in the future. Please email me with your full name so we can figure out exactly what happened and do better next time. Thank you for your feedback. You can email us at info@rescuedogsrocknyc.org Please put attention Judi and Joyce in subject line.
This is a horrible organization. My partner and I are currently fostering a dog from them. The initial process was super easy to "get in" and it seemed like they were very eager to push a dog on us. They seem to have hundreds of dogs coming in who need homes and don't truly take the time to get to know them, their personalities, and behaviors. We were told this dog was a puppy, good with people, and with other dogs and would be about ~30lbs. After about 2 months she is at 50lbs and has extreme stranger danger and barks constantly and sometimes nips at people. We've asked the rescue for help and they did oblige and pay for a trainer but it takes going through about 4 different people who are all labeled as "directors" to get through to anybody. We try and promote this dog and get her help on their community Facebook page and then we are told that we are not supposed to be posting things on there. This company is disorganized and terrible. They likely do not have a public organization who people can review on Google for a reason. Please do not work with them unless you want serious headaches.
I rescued a puppy (Hunter) four years ago from Rescue Dogs Rock. I found them to be extremely professional and very serious re adopting an animal from them. Frankly, I was very impressed. I had to first fill out an extensive application, a phone interview and an in-home interview. I assume most of these people are volunteers and they spend a lot of their personal time making sure the animals are placed in a good, safe, permanent home. They also make you sign a contract, if for any reason it doesn't work out, you have to return the animal to them and its all because they truly care about the animal. Since then, I so believe in their rescue, I regularly donate money to their cause. May not be a lot - but if everyone chips in a little, it makes a huge difference. Thank you Rescue Dogs NYC Rocks. :)

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
Thank you so much for leaving us such a wonderful review. It's so nice to hear what we are doing right. We are blessed to have people like you who believe in us and the work that we do. We truly appreciated your donations, as well. Hope you have a wonderful and healthy year ahead.
Horrible rescue. I was approved for a dog and both times the fosters found a reason why they dog wouldn't be a fit despite the profiles indicating the dogs were a match. The second dog was selected by one of the rescues match finders and again because the foster felt it wasn't a match because the dog all of a sudden needed a yard (no where mentioned on the profile). This rescue has totally unprofessional fosters and they are not truthful, placing people with children and other dogs at serious risk of harm when they are not truthful. I have emails from both incidents from this rescues staff and the dogs original profiles.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
As we are sure you felt quite justified in leaving us a bad review we have a different opinion. We specifically have potential adopters talk to each foster BEFORE moving forward with an adoption. WHY? Well, that it is very simple… each dog has specific needs and who best to know those needs than the person they are living with. Sometimes our fosters find out things about a dog as time goes on. Such as, the need for a fenced in yard. Perhaps they learned the dog had a much higher level of energy once he/she settled in. We take what our fosters have to say very seriously. Your review is a compliment as far as we are concerned. It proves we care very much and we are diligent in placing a dog in the right home vs just placing a dog to place a dog. Just because you think you are a fit doesn’t always make it so. We always do our best to place dogs properly and if we adopted a dog to you that we felt was not a good fit for you that would make us reckless and negligent.

RescueDogsRockNYC 04/24/2021
2 of 2 - So if doing what you outlined makes us unprofessional and dishonest then we will take it.
This is a warning to anyone ready to open their wallet to donate to RDRNY- they DO NOT ever state the dog in distress pictured in their weekly pleas for money IS IN THEIR CARE----the pictured dog could be ANYWHERE!! they supposedly "take care of" lots of abused/neglected/injured dogs-------so they say------- but without saying that dog is in their care WHO KNOWS WHERE THOSE DOLLARS ARE GOING? please check out the Facebook page Scam Rescues BEFORE opening your wallet!!!!!!

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
What?? We are sorry but this makes no sense. We have read this multiple times and it continues not to make sense. We are a medical rescue supported by donations. Of course the dogs we post are in our care. To suggest otherwise is slanderous and frankly ridiculous. You could’ve simply asked us if you had questions? Why the anger? Oh, we understand… If someone says something disparaging about us on Facebook it must be true, right? People love to criticize others and unfortunately it looks like you joined the mean girls team trying to hurt a rescue that has saved over 7500 hundred animals since our inception. That is one heck of a run for a scam rescue and I am pretty sure the 7500 animals we saved feel differently. That is 7500 living, breathing creatures that got to live to see another day because we are here to help them.
This is a wonderful organization that rescues dogs and finds them good forever homes. I applaud the work they do and urge people to support them and also I urge those looking for wonderful dog companions to use their services.

RescueDogsRockNYC 05/08/2021
HI! Thank you so much for leaving us a review. We truly appreciate you taking the time to do so. Wishing you a healthy and safe year ahead.
Rescue Dogs Rock New Youk City is an amazing dogs rescue center which has never shied away from the most injured or neglected animals. Founded in 2015 by two women, Jackie O’Sullivan and Stacy Silverstein, it depends on donations alone to save the neediest dogs, many of them medical emergencies, from further pain and suffering. They have helped more the 3000 animals in their existence and then given them out for foster care and adoption.
I am aware that there are many animal rescue group in this country all of which do an incredible job saving dogs and other creatures. But I have never been so touched by a group that never turns down a desperate animal as these folks have. They can use the money as a life-saving gift for the wonderful animals they save and I think they would be the best rescue group you can pick.
They have an Instagram email, rescuedogsrocknyr.org, where there are many pictures of the puppies they’ve saved.
