Mission: The mission of reprise is to produce musical theatre of the highest artistic quality for southern california audiences while making this unique american art form accessible to new audiences through education and outreach programs.
Programs: Description of program service one: the company has dissolved. There have been no productions or program services for the past two years. In the past reprise produced a series of classic broadway musical productions to educate the public about the art form, preserve it as an art form, and to promote public interest in continued production of classic musicals. The organization also produced a series of one night only readings and concerts. Program expenses included the supervision of student interns who assisted professional theatre production personnel in all aspects of the staging of a broadway musical. Interns also worked in the administrative office assisting with support activities directly related to the productions.
description of program service two: there has been no educational program activity during this year or the prior year. In the past student education programs were provided to high school students in low income areas of los angeles in order to bring this art form to an audience that would otherwise not have the opportunity to see or learn about musical theatre productions. The programs consisted of in- school instruction, production of study guides and transportation and admission to the productions. The outreach program provided low income senior citizens an opportunity to learn more about musical theatre and to attend productions at no cost. This program consisted of artist visits to senior centers and transportation and admission to productions.
reprise theatre company has dissolved and can no longer further their mission: to produce musical theatre for southern california audiences. By donating their remaining funds to the ebell, that also has a theater, they will assist in making theater accessible to los angeles audiences.
