Remote Area Medical has helped the underserved for about 40 years now. The founder Stan Brock made it his life’s mission to care for people in need and the staff carries on his legacy with pride. RAM truly is a testament to the heart of community service and people helping people.
I have volunteered with RAM now for 7 years. Every clinic I attend I see the need
and how much Remote Area Medical helps with those needs. I will continue volunteering with them as many years as I can.
RAM is a fantastic organization that provides healthcare to so many patients in a dignified and safe manner. It’s efficient and full of caring people.
RAM provides healthcare services in terms of medical, vision, and dental to not only remote areas in the United States but also in urban areas in and outside of the US. they provide free services, which is very important in these communities since most of the citizens do not have an health insurance so they are more motivated to come to remote area medical for medical services. I believe that this nonprofit organization has changed millions of lives, not only for the patients but also for volunteers who the main reason is to help RAM and help others in the world. disorganization also brings everyone together and also fights for patient qualities.
This organization truly meets a need in our communities. They are able to alleviate suffering for so many and may be people's only access to health and dental care. Each patient is treated with dignity and respect and the staff, providers, and volunteers are wonderful. The generous donations make this kind, caring work possible and I am grateful to have been involved for 10 years.
I volunteered at a clinic in Jamestown Tn. A lady made her own frames out of hot glue. She was in dire need of a new eye exam and glasses. She waited all night to be able to receive a ticket for the clinic. In my 43 years of optical I had never seen this before. She was a working person barely getting by and desperately needed glasses to work, drive and continue to be a productive member of society. Made my heart full to see her so happy and thankful for eye exam and glasses. Remote Area Medical provides much needed help to communities. Great organizations to volunteer with, very rewarding to use my professional skills to help others. Everyone getting together like family for the greater good. RAM family

Started my journey with RAM many years ago. You do not have to be a doctor, nurse, vision professional, or dentist. Your skills and talent can be put to work. Remote Area Medical - RAM is a nonprofit that provides free dental, medical, and vision care around the USA. Volunteers are not only needed to help provide professional services, but we need volunteers to register volunteers and patients, guides, parking lot help, and make glasses (they teach you!) In other words, RAM needs you to help them help others.
My journey with RAM started with a newspaper article offering "free" dental, medical, and vision services. I was looking for a volunteer opportunity so I volunteered at a clinic in East Ridge, TN. I kept waiting for the patients to be asked for ID, Insurance, or Money...never happened. Thought this was too good to be true. Continued volunteering and found, Yes, all services at the Remote Area Medical Clinics ARE indeed FREE. I loved my volunteering so much that I applied for a job as a Volunteer Coordinator!
Can you imagine a father having a tooth that hurts so bad he was ready to pull it out himself? This man came to a clinic and the tooth was pulled, and the pain was gone. He thanked everyone at the clinic - from the dentist to the greeters. I've seen people get glasses for the first time in years and are able to see to read! I've seen children get the physicals they need for school. With our RAM Volunteers - we make a difference!

Remote Area Medical is one of the most important charities in the United States. RAM's clinics provide a wide range of services, including dental, vision, and medical care. These services are often life-changing for patients, who may have gone without care for years. RAM's work helps to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities, and it is a vital resource for tens of thousands of people every year.
I have Volunteered with Remote Area Medical for 6 years now. I do between 15 and 20 clinics a year.
This organization is the true meaning of Compassion and Devotion. They have helped me to be a better person and to give as much as they do. The smiling people that we are all able to help is the greatest reward. In turn, some of these people have opened their hearts to also give back. I hope that this cycle can go on as long as possible and more people can help each other.
I love working with this organization because I feel strongly that we are making a big difference in filling the gap for the uninsured and underinsured people of our communities.
I having been volunteering for around 20 years with RAM. I have been able to help young and old receive new glasses to be able to see the world better. Love that there is an organization that cares about the uninsured and the many deserving people that need assistance with vision, medical and dental services
I needed to get shots for my dog and I am on Social Security so I don’t have a lot of money. I called Remote Aaea medical and they made it so easy to get my dog her shots. Not only did I get her 2 shots but also was able to get her microchipped as well. All this was free to me. All the volunteers were so nice!

I have volunteered with Remote Area medical for 15 years. The work they do is absolutely unparalleled. Not only for the quality of the services provided but for their wide open arms philosophy in serving patients. Yes, there are other free clinics but nearly all of them come with the requirement for a mountain of paperwork, ID, proof of income, proof of residency and the list goes on. Remote Area Meducal just says, “do you need help? Let us help you.“
I first was made aware of RAM some five years ago by watching one of the television news shows. I was taken by the thought that they [RAM] were able to bypass the the medical machinery out there and just plain give help to those who really needed it, at no cost to the people they help. Doesnt matter where. I dont see any religious or gov't affiliations or any agenda other than direct , volunteer straight to the heart good work. RAM sends me emails, only to inform me of their current projects and the next mission. Never to solicit money. I only wish I had more to give them. Great Organization!!!
Remote Area Medical provides free medical care, dental care, eye examinations, and eye glasses to the indigent. RAM services primarily rural areas, but will go most anywhere there is a need. I have been a volunteer with RAM for nine years. I began as an optometry student and I am now a Doctor of Optometry and continue to volunteer and donate to RAM. There is no question that RAM deserves 5 stars!
