Mission: The Religious Coalition is a humanitarian organization operating in Frederick County serving its most in-need citizens. We foster hope and altruism by bridging the gap between our fellow citizens and their needs, as well as between members of our community from different strata. The primary objective of the Religious Coalition is to alleviate the suffering of our residents and preserve personal dignity through homeless prevention, emergency assistance, and other aid. The Religious Coalition believes that we are all held accountable to our fellow man, and that we can achieve of our goals of a more just society through connection, communication, and outreach.
Target demographics: the homeless and those experiencing issues with rent, utilities, prescription, and security deposit assistance.
Geographic areas served: Frederick County
Programs: The Alan P. Linton Jr., shelter operates year-round and offers a warm, safe haven for homeless men and women. The Emergency Family Shelter provides a safe space for families experiencing homelessness. The Religious Coalition also provides emergency assistance with utility bills and other needs such as clothing, transportation, and hygiene supplies. We work with food banks and a network of houses of faith to house and supply emergency needs.
