Causes: Environment, Environmental Beautification
Mission: Our mission is to engage the community to plant and steward native trees, mitigate the effects of climate change, improve the environmental health of the Petaluma watershed, create habitat for wildlife, enrich our lives, and save the planet.
Results: Do you want to volunteer for an effective organization that is working nonstop to address climate change and the biodiversity crisis? In less than 2 years, ReLeaf Petaluma reached the milestone of 1,000 trees planted. By April 2024, ReLeaf and its volunteers planted a total of 1,643 native trees. We created a team of Tree Stewards, who care for the trees for three years after planting. Our Teen Tree Corps gains valuable skills as they work with adult mentors learning urban tree planting and life skills.
Target demographics: ReLeaf Petaluma plants California native trees to address climate change and help increase and provide habitat for biodiversity.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Since December 2021 we planted 1,643 trees in parks, schools, open spaces, private residences, and non profit properties.
