Mission: To assist refugees with community acclimation and personal self sufficiency
Programs: 1. Fruitful friends program pairs american volunteers with refugee family desiring mentorship and friendship 2. Refugee help center operates 2 days per week where refugees receive assistance with a variety of issues, ranging from reading mail, making telephone calls, completing government forms, understanding bills and learning self-sufficiency skills 3. Free vegetable distribution, family literacy opportunities, knitting program and community- and skill-building classes and events education of americans about refugee crises at free refugee 101 workshops on site at galilee center or on location at a community partner event 4. Special events held: annual 01-01 refugee birthday party, swim day at the j, spring fling, free stuff garage sale, deer/game delivery, family fun day, quarterly ladies' tea parties 5. Self-sufficiency workshops nutrition information, cooking classes, home-buying & credit-building, voting clinic, financial literacy,family first aid, personal hygiene
