This organization is now Reed House, Inc. See www.reed-house.org. It serves over 100 adults whose lives have been impacted by serious mental illness. At Reed House they experience a word-ordered day, similar to what they would experience in the competitive workforce. Reed House follows the Clubhouse International (www.iccd.org) model of psychosocial rehabilitation which is listed on the US Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices. It is the only clubhouse model of treatment in Georgia. This model has been proven to be the least expensive and most effective way to rehabilitate people experiencing serious mental illness.
At Reed House, "members" learn to show up, get along with others, work as part of a team, gain new skills, take pride in their accomplishments, and transition to the competitive workforce.

Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Community Mental Health Centers, Mental Health
Mission: To afford people whose lives have been disrupted by serious mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningful and productive lives through reintegration into the workplace and community.
Results: We opened the doors in late January 2013 and now serve over 100 members. Our members are growing stronger in their recovery every day. Many have met educational and employment goals. One has now become a mental health professional. One is graduating from a college program next month and several have obtained their GED certificates.

Programs: Clubhouse members choose to come to Reed House to contribute their talents, learn new skills, access opportunities, and forge friendships. Members and staff work as partners to operate successful employment, education, wellness, and housing programs. Our activities and programs are designed to provide opportunities and, at the same time, produce the desire and confidence to pursue them.
