I have attended a few functions in the past sponsored by this organization at various venues and have always found the staff to be helpful in terms of providing information and/or support to those in the gay community and to others. If you have an opportunity to volunteer or support their cause it is certain one worth your time.

I spent time in the community passing out Aids awareness information and protection information. I also attend their monthly movie night/discussion group. Both are very interesting and I have met a lot of people needing info and help. I have to say, the movie night is my favorite thing because all kinds of different people come together and share their thoughts on each movie theme.

I love working with Red Hispana because the staff genuinely cares about helping people. I enjoy the events we sponsor, such as educational seminars, movie nights, and special events. Having the opportunity to help people know their status is very gratifying. It's so important to be tested and know your HIV status. I also enjoy the opportunity to share knowledge about community resources with those who need the information and services. Going out into the community and sharing information helps everyone become more knowledgeable and protected.

Red Hispana Florida is a non profit HIV Agency that targets Hispanics for help. They host this counties only Hispanic language Support Group, where the average age is 50 and meets twice a month. In addition, they perform outreach at ALL community events, fighting stereo types/ myths about HIV and also bring Seminars on Issues to long term survivors.
