Results: Our one-year Christian discipleship program helps adults who battle chronic homelessness and substance abuse overcome their past and become productive citizens, no longer enslaved by past addictions and errors. They hold jobs, secure housing, become active members of local churches, and serve others in the community. We baptized more than 20 people this past year.
We provide after school care and summer programs for low income children. We minister to at-risk teens with activities and meals. The children in our after school program have improved their reading skills. Our Project 5:10 ministry hosts more than 30 teens for evening bible study, meaning they choose to study the bible and share a meal instead of joining a gang and/or participating in gang activity, which is common in this neighborhood.
