I have been proudly involved with Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill for 20 years. It has helped so many low-income homeowners with much needed repairs. There are a large number of wonderful volunteers that return every year to make those repairs. It is such a reward to see the joy in a homeowner's face when the work is completed and they can be warm, safe, and independent longer in their own home!

Mission: Rebuilding Together Greater Haverhill, Inc., a local affiliate of Rebuilding Together, Inc., was formed in 1991 when a small group of local community leaders and volunteers partnered with the Christmas in April USA organization. At that time assistance to over 250 affiliates across the country to provide necessary repairs to low-income homeowners and communities was given through the local affiliates. Nationally and locally, the work done on homes is free to eligible homeowners, and is done primarily by skilled and unskilled volunteers. Both volunteers and recipients benefit from the program by working together to improve their communities, by keeping homes and non-profit facilities safe, warm and accessible, one house, one non-profit facility, at a time.

Geographic areas served: Haverhill, Groveland, Georgetown, Merrimac, West Newbury, Plaistow
Programs: plumbing and electrical repairs, installing grab bars and handrails and wheelchair ramps. Installing new windows and doors.
