Rebel rescue is highly deserving and much underrated. Amy takes in so many different kinds of animals from kittens that have finished bottle feeding to reptiles, birds, and bunnies to farm animals. The animals always need vetting. She works well with other rescues in the area. The animals are so well cared for. I wish I had more time to volunteer there as it is such a wonderful place.
Rebel Rescue Ranch in lake Milton, OH is truly one-of-a-kind! The greater Youngstown area (and beyond!) is so lucky to have Amy and the ranch. Amy has the heart, patience and drive that it takes to save, rescue, adopt out, raise, nurture and care for ALL animals. No animal is too big, too small, too wild, too malnourished or neglected for her to take under her wing. From blue cray fish to lizards to turkeys to pigeons to horses, she is always stepping up to help. I can’t wait for the day I have a house of my own so I can adopt a critter from the ranch.
Beyond the animals, Amy strives to make a lasting and sustainable environment for plants, flowers, a garden, and a pond. She uses her amazing networking skills to find resources and supplies so she is always expanding and making all the barns, pens and stables bigger and better. She plants new baby trees several times a year, and even uses her fruit trees to partner with local businesses to create wonderful products such as fresh juice, cider and beer!
I could go on about Rebel Rescue Ranch and all it does for the community. Amy hosts events, parties, and neighborhood gatherings. She hosts volunteer groups, has a neighborhood book nook, and even has eggs/produce she sells locally. She has seasonal fundraisers and is ALWAYS looking for more ways to raise funds for the ranch. The need for supplies, food, rain barrels, and hands never stops. I hope one day she has donors that can see all she’s done and contribute to this amazing little animal utopia on the lake.
I’ll end with saying…once, Amy came running to my cries for help about a wild crow I spotted that looked like it needed help. Amy got in her car and drove 30 minutes to assess the situation and she came with backup. She determined the crow was blind, or losing vision. They did indeed see the crow to safety! She always finds connections if she can’t help a particular animal. Whether it’s for an itty bitty kitty who needs bottle fed, a large pig that needs transported to his new home, or a funny little blind crow, Amy is ready to jump in and help.

Amy is an amazing super woman! For the last 4 years we have teamed up together to save the most vulnerable population of kittens (birth—3 weeks). Without her generosity and partnership I wouldn’t be able to do what I do. RRR is a godsend!!!
This is a magical place. It is beautiful, clean and full of animals whose lives have been saved. Amy is a one woman wonder who is 100% devoted to loving, taking care of and finding homes for rescued and unwanted animals. I love being here and volunteer once a week and am constantly amazed. I wish I had more time to help because she truly could use a break now and then. Yet she keeps at it 24/7 and the world that I see is a better place because of Rebel Rescue Ranch.

I have been volunteering at Rebel Rescue Ranch once a week for several months now with my daughter and my friend, and it has become something we all look forward to every week. The Ranch is a beautiful and harmonious place, and Amy takes great pride in her work as a rescue renegade. Industrious and determined, she rises to every challenge that meets her on a daily basis - and there's always something. It seems every week there is something new happening as Amy is always taking on new animals, even when she is at capacity. She somehow just makes room, or builds new enclosures to makes it all work. One week she took on a flock of pigeons from a hoarding situation, and within a short time she had an aviary built and installed on the property so those pigeons could live their best lives. Another time (and this happens often) she took on yet another surrendered bunny that she had no room for, so accommodations were promptly made because she couldn't say no. Then there were turkeys, more goats and guinea pigs and chickens, some ducks and who knows what else, and everyone just gets along. It's wild and beautiful, and I don't know how she does it all but I'm grateful that she's answered this calling to be the angel that all those animals need who make their way to Rebel Rescue Ranch!
Rebel Rescue is an amazing non profit that helps many animals in our community! They work endless hours helping animals in need and giving them a chance of a better life and even survival in some cases. They also partner with Eastern Gateway Community College's Veterinary Technician Program, allowing the students to get hands on experience with many species. The students love the Ranch and all the experience and knowledge Ame shares with them!!
I have been volunteering twice a week at Rebel Rescue Ranch for five months now and it has been the most humbling and heartwarming experience. My ‘job’ when I go is to clean up after and feed the bunnies and guinea pigs, which I think there are about 25 right now and that’s just in the barns!
Ame loves and cares for all of the animals (goats, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, turkeys, ducks, chickens, fish, reptiles and I know I’m missing a few), whether they’re her forever animals or providing them a safe environment until they get adopted. The rescue is her whole life and I really can’t put into words how much I admire her. Most of the animals she rescues are ‘non-traditional’ rescues (as in non-cats and dogs) and she works so hard to make sure they have a happy life for as long as they will be there. What’s even more amazing is she does most of it on her own with the help of a few regular volunteers.
I bring my 11 year old nephew with me to help with my ‘farm chores’ (that’s what we call them) and he always has so much fun. Not only is he learning about why it’s so important to take care of your pets and that they’re forever family members, he is also learning the importance of giving back to his community. Although his favorite animals to visit are the goats, he loves getting books from the farm’s ‘little library’ and reading to the bunnies and guinea pigs.
I often leave the farm feeling like I wish I could do more but I’m just so grateful I get to help when I can. Ame is a wonderful person and I’ve never met anyone as selfless as she is to save an animal, no matter the time of day. I’m happy and proud to volunteer at Rebel Rescue Ranch!
