One of the goals of this organization has been to promote what are called "Right-to-try" laws. This Michigan law was created to let terminally ill patients try experimental therapies (drugs, biologics, devices) that have completed Phase 1 testing but have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Rebecca tried to obtain several therapies that were refused by her doctors because they lacked final FDA approval. While we tried, success in approval came too late. The value of these therapies has been called into question on multiple grounds, including the fact that they do not require pharmaceutical manufacturers to provide the therapies that patients are seeking. The Rebecca Kelly War on Cancer continues to advocate this experimental process by obtaining professional support to navigate the available therapies and customize the particular patients needs in 2018.
