Reality's Chance is an Amazing Rescue & Sanctuary and they help many animals that don't have much of a chance of landing in a good spot. They are very knowledgeable in the handling, rehabilitation and training of Mustangs and have also designed and built a beautiful facility that can accommodate some of the most at-risk horses in the US. These horses flourish at Reality Chance because of the excellent care, attention, training and LOVE they receive and upon graduation they have a Real Chance to survive and do well in very different world then where they came from. Their dedication to this cause is immeasurable and their commitment to top notch care and handling is next to none! Not only do they help horses they help people too and have one the most amazing volunteer groups I have ever seen! It's tireless work, there are always more horses that need saved and Reality's Chance is always out there fighting for the safety of these horses.
When I first found Reality's Chance Rescue I was looking for somewhere to volunteer and learn more about taking care of horses. I had ridden other people's horses all my life and wanted to purchase my own in the near future. I knew I needed to learn more about their care and upkeep so I signed my family up and we started helping out.
Helping out turned into spending many hours a week cleaning pastures, feeding, and loving on the equine residents here. I participated in clinics the founder held to educate horse lovers on the care and training of horses and found myself adopting two American mustangs who needed a home.
The volunteers pour their heart and souls into the care of the horses. They celebrate when things go well and victories are won for the horses and feel the heaviness of the most hard fought battles that are sometimes lost. They do it with grit and grace and for the good of the horses they love and take care of.
This place is amazing for people as well. It's a beautiful place, peaceful, and makes a great place to find quiet rest.
Reality's Chance is an amazing place, run by amazing people. The horses are treated with compassion and professionalism, and I highly endorse Reality's Chance as an organization much deserving of support in whatever form that may take.
I always look forward to visiting Reality's Chance Rescue and Sanctuary. It's such an incredible place to be. The team of compassionate people who care for the horses there really inspires me to want to do more. It's an incredible place. We need more places like this in the world.
I volunteered for several months.
I plan to return to Reality’s Chance to volunteer and help wherever I can.
It is a well run nonprofit. It has dedicated people, hard-working who are strongly dedicated
They put everything in it this rescue to make it successful and to support the wild mustangs.
What a gem RCRS is! Not only does this rescue and it’s awesome volunteers provide amazing care and love for all the animals at the rescue. Reality’s Chance also provides a much needed safe place for all. The healing that occurs here is truly amazing for both equines and humans.
I have visited Reality's Chance a few times and have always been impressed with the kindness & knowledge of the volunteers and cleanliness of the facility. The story of how it all started is truly amazing.
I love volunteering at Realities Chance! I have always loved horses but have never owned a horse so volunteering is the next best thing. It’s also a lot of fun meeting new horses and other volunteers! I have been able to experience great activities such as a roping clinic, and a volunteer challenge to help train horses. I was so happy when the horse that I helped during the volunteer challenge found a forever home.
This rescue has heart!
I volunteer at this peaceful sanctuary because the horses are all loved until the end of their days.
Reality's Chance also makes an impact on the community.
I've been part of several volunteer crews to help people keep their horses at home; they just needed support.
We repaired fences and stalls and provided supplies /resources so that horses could remain at home.
Volunteering here is good for your soul.
I found the rescue via quick internet search when I was working full time as a nurse and needing an outlet to decompress from the stress I was feeling. I came out and started volunteering as often as I could and realized how much it was helping my well-being. I’ve been there for about 5 years and can’t imagine giving it up. The volunteers are wonderful, the owner gives her all to the horses and never says no to helping others, and her partner has built a gorgeous property worthy of a magazine feature spread.
I am delighted to share my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible work of the person and people behind this nonprofit rescuing horses. Their dedication and compassion for these majestic animals are truly commendable. Through their relentless efforts, countless horses have been saved from dire circumstances and given a new lease on life.
Their commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for the rescued horses is evident in the care and love each animal receives. The nonprofit's impact extends beyond the rescued horses, as they also educate the community about equine welfare and responsible horse ownership.
I am truly inspired by their selflessness and determination in making a positive difference in the lives of these innocent creatures. Laura’s passion for rescuing horses is contagious, and it's clear that she pours her heart and soul into this noble cause.
I wholeheartedly recommend this nonprofit and its founder to anyone looking to support a cause that touches the lives of both animals and the community. They are a true beacon of hope for horses in need, and their unwavering dedication deserves all the recognition and support it can get.
Beautiful property with folks willing to answer any questions. First stopped by for pictures when there was an outbreak of a virus, but afterwards coming back they seemed to have handled everything professionally.
Absolutely horrible place for a horse, has had a strangles outbreak all spring and summer. The owner won't follow quarantine protocols. And anyone who speaks up and says anything is just 'banned' from the property. The owner has some very seriously angry issues, horses are boarder line neglected, vet care is withheld ($?) and is just using a 'non-profit' to tax shelter her own hobby farm property. This place might have been great at one time but an individuals personality has driven it into theground.
I have been a volunteer for 4 years now almost 5. This place is amazing. I was able to build up my horsemanship skills and was eventually able to do a mustang TIP challenge and adopt a horse! It is a absolutely beautiful place and great to be apart of making a huge difference. One horse at a time
I haven't volunteered at Reality's chance, but have donated, following on Facebook, and drive by most days (2 miles away). They have come a long ways in a short amount of time. They have a beautiful sanctuary and is obvious from that and their posts to FB, that all their animals are well cared for and loved very much.
Love what they do. Always interesting things in the gift shop and fresh veggies in the summer. Love the stories about horses getting a better life.

Working to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses in need, this beautiful facility is a truly peaceful place where all the animals are carefully cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. They also rescue and gentle American Mustangs to place in loving homes and offer clinics, lessons and tours...I highly recommend visiting and supporting this group!
I could never thank this Reality's Chance Rescue enough for taking in my 2 burros when I was in desperate need! It brings me peace to know that they are being well cared for and will be together forever!
So I am a volunteer at Reality's Chance Rescue and Sanctuary on every Saturday for 3 hrs. It is the most beautiful place ever. The owners are really trying to rescue all the Horses and donkeys etc. I would donate my whole bank account. They are very appreciative to have volunteers, to scoop up stalls, brush the Donkies and fill up water, feed them nutrients to let the horses gain weight, and just be happy. All the horses are adorable and very gentle. This is a good place to let kids look and pet at the horses. They also do horsemanship classes for kids. But they do fill up very fast. So I would plan as soon as you want to do the classes. There is even a thrift store, Candles are homemade, the shirts are pretty cheap. All the horses are adaptable and even Foster the horses, There are some horses are boarded which means that the owner either has not enough land or just are unable to care for the horses.
We absolutely love Reality's Chance. They are knowledgeable, helpful and passionate about the horses they take in and adopt out.
The fact there are such amazing people who are willing to help these horse and care for them is amazing. I just started volunteering there about a month ago and it’s amazing working with such beautiful animals. It’s a great to see so many people have such big hearts to help the horses out.
Absolutely amazing place. This crew is absolutely amazing and takes exceptional care of there animals
This place is absolutely awesome! Laura and her crew sacrifices so much of there time to help these beautiful horses. My 6 year old niece and 7 year old nephew has been taking riding lessons there for about 2 months now and have learned so much about horse safety and the amazing American mustang.
My daughter Mia and I love this place. You can feel how much the love every animal that the rescue!!
The team @ this Sanctuary is outstanding! The dedication is obvious & the love of equine is as well. Truly in it for all the right reasons.

We adopted 5 beautiful horses from Reality's Chance. Each one has a touching story and given a new life because they cared! Such an amazing group of men and women!
Reality’s Chance is an incredible Rescue/Sanctuary! Their mission & vision is inspiring! Truly an exceptional organization.
This non-profit animal rescue group is in my neighborhood (Pleasant Lake, Mi) and they do great work. They're able to do more and more every year. Not only do they rescue horses and as far away as Colorado but they have other animals on site to help. Reality's Chance. And their work never stops. Every day rain or shine or freezing or snow they are out there.
I have never been happier when stepping foot on this property! The people are so warm and inviting. The horses are happy. The birds are a fun addition. And the donkeys. The sweet, sweet donkeys. My favorite :) There has been so much done here to make it warm and inviting, it's amazing. I could go on and on all day, but then I'd be rambling and nobody wants to read that. All I can say is, if you want a healthy and happy addition to your farm and pasture, look here first.
I have been volunteering at the rescue for some time now. It was built for a worthy cause and I have met some wonderful volunteers along the way. Good hearts, good souls, good people, and good medicine. Peacefulness and serenity is what you find there. If you were ever to come visit you would understand why...
I’ve been out to this Sanctuary several times. The horses are all loved and well taken care of. It’s so heartwarming that many end up finding great forever homes do to the hard work by Laura and her team gearing each horse ready aand then pairing up the right family with the right horse. Any horse who ends up at this address is one lucky pony!!
I rescued a mustang and couldn't have been more pleased with the help and encouragement I recieved during the process. Great place, even better people!
Volunteering at this Rescue the past few years has been such a positive experience. The people there are so nice and helpful. The animals are all so happy and very well taken care.
I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking to to volunteer, adopt or take riding lessons. It is a beautiful place.
Such a wonderful place! My daughter and I always look forward to our visits here. The setting is amazing, the people are friendly and helpful, and the horses are pretty special, too. We are so thankful that we found this place and are able to spend time here. It's definitely the highlight of my daughter's weekend!
My home away from home!! The love, patience, kindness of the people who make this mission possible are absolutely top notch. This place has helped my daughter and I connect, and also helped me thru the darkest time after I lost my mother. Full of zen and tranquility. We also have just adopted our own mustang!! Love, love, love the horses, property and people!!
Reality’s Sanctuary is an amazing place! My sister and I just recently volunteered there. Everyone there is extremely nice, and they all have full hearts for the horses. The horses are given the care they need, and are all more than happy. I have never seen a more beautiful place, or more beautiful horses!
We have adopted 2 wild American mustangs from this great non-profit as well as taken other horses up for help with training or other services. They really are a “barn family” and provide such a wonderful service to both equine and their partners alike.
Reality’s Chance is an AMAZING place!!
I have loved spending time with the beautiful horses and the awesome volunteers!
