Mission: The reading clinic, inc. Is committed to developing readers of all ages to a higher level of proficiency. We are devoted to servicing children, adolescents and adults with dyslexia, the most common reading disability affecting 1 in 5. The reading clinic, inc. Embraces a mission grounded in advances in evidence-based best practices, cognitive neuroscience, learning styles, reading research and the cultural, linguistic, social, and developmental needs of diverse learners. The underlying principles of our mission are aligned to the standards of the international dyslexia association, international literacy association, council for exceptional children and the national coalition of parental involvement in education. Fostering life-long proficient literacy habits is the overarching mission of the reading clinic, inc.
Programs: The reading clinic, inc. Is the 2014 / 2016 wells fargo community connections program award recipient for creating political and community awareness for dyslexia , the most common reading disability affecting 1 in 5; and addressing vital community needs and issues including education, community development, human services, environmental and civic projects. The reading clinic, inc. Also received the190th legislative district image award recipient, women working together for change. The reading clinic, inc. Has been approved with non-profit status to be an official member of the united way donor choice program. The reading clinic, inc. Has received recognition for community outreach from city council, city of philadelphia and the pennsylvania house of representatives.
