Mission: Read to me international has a simple yet profound mission and a few goals which guide it. It believes that as stakeholders and communities come together to address the literacy needs of children, they will realize the importance of reading aloud to children as a simple but effective way of raising children who value and love reading.
Programs: The foundation promotes reading aloud to children through: presentations and workshops for parents, educators and other interested groups; read alouds at schools and community gatherings; national quality biennial conferences; and support for parents of young children living in transitional and affordable housing. The foundation's goals are: ensure that every child is read to every day for at least 10 minutes; model good read aloud techniques; and promote reading aloud to a broader audience or stakeholders.
