I have worked with the staff and Board on several occasions and always found them: focused on what is best for the community; searching for ways to prvoide the most effective, useful, high-quality service; identifying ways to provide more even with limited resources; deeply committed and caring about their clients and their families and each other.
SARCC IOU-1....I have been involved in some aspect of my life with SARCC for the past 10 years, first as a client and then as a volunteer, I cannot say enough about SARCC. In some respects I owe them my life. The staff is excellent, caring, compassionate, and always there, if even just to talk to you. The 24-hour hotline is and has been in the recent months a godsend. It is comforting to know that when one is awakened during the night from horrific nightmares, all one needs to do is call the hotline and there is a compassionate volunteer on the other end.
My wife and I have been associated with SARCC for over 15 years. I have never know such a dedicated group of individuals, from the staff to the board to the volunteers. Not only do they provide first rate counseling and referal services, the community education and advocacy around sexual violence has been successful in moving the issue out of the shadows. Caring and compasion is wonderful, but results are what count. SARCC has the results to prove their value in the community. Thousands of sexual violence victims have been able to overcome their horrific experiences and move forward to become healthy, caring and productive members of society; raisng their own families and breaking the cycle of violence.
Rape Crisis Services of Lebanon County do an outstanding job of helping children and adults of all ages who are victims of sexual assault. They have many programs throughout Lebanon County to get the word out about their services. They have individual counseling, as well as group counseling. They go to schools, hospitals, bazaars, among many others so they can reach those who are in need of some help. They have wonderful staff who truly care about what they do, and they go above and beyond the call of duty when they are helping their clients. They have a director that dedicates herself to helping victims of sexual assault. As a current board member, I am humbled by the dedication of the Director, staff, volunteers, and board members, all of whom are constantly looking at ways to improve current services, reach more people, and to come up with new programs. If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual assault, this is the place to call. For more information: www.sarcclebanon.com
