Programs: The first project of ransom minsitries was ransom cafe, a donation only lunch restaurant based on matthew 2028 which states that jesus did not come to be served, but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. In october of 2010, ransom cafe began serving quality meals at one location on weekdays from 11 a. M. Until 2 p. M. Ransom cafe grew to five different locations in mobile county and one in baldwin county. If someone cannot pay for lunch, they are also given the opportunity to work in the cafe as payment for lunch if they so choose. While they are encouraged to do so, they are not required to work. The cafe also provides a thanksgiving day meal for free to the community. In 2017 we began moving this project to the control of the churches and locations involved in serving the meals. That way, we can empower them to serve the community on their own.

another project of ransom minsitries, inc. Is the clean machine, a self-contained 22-foot trailer with two bathrooms, three washing machines and three dryers. The idea for the clean machine came to matt armbruster after he spent three days on the streets as a homeless experiment and realized how much people needed these services. After generous donations from businesses, churches and individuals, the clean machine was built and started serving people in june of 2013. The clean machine allows homeless people to get their clothes cleaned and provides them a hot shower. The trailer is portable and travels all over mobile and baldwin counties. During 2017, the clean machine was unable to provide service for most of the year until we got a new generator in the fall of 2017. With the new generator, this program can now resume. We also started ransom on the road. This is a food truck that can help provide meals to homeless people and those in need throughout the community. The food truck also provides a training tool for our re-program job training program.

through a partnership with habitat for humanity, ransom ministries developed its first raised bed community garden in the hillsdale community off of cody road. It started with 10 raised beds and has expanded to 18. In june of 2013 a second raised bed garden was created in the prichard community. We also bring in mission teams and volunteers to serve in the community. Weekend or week long service camps are available for youth, adults or a combination of ages. These teams can work in the cafe, with the clean machine, in the community gardens, or with our other ministry partners. We also offer a summer camp and a christmas outreach.
