I adopted a mixed breed puppy from Rancho Coastal Humane Society in December, 2020. From beginning to end, the experience was amazing! The people I spoke with truly cared about the animals finding the right home, and my family finding the right pet. I had been looking to adopt a dog for some time. When I found this puppy on Rancho Coastal Humane Society's Facebook post, I immediately reached out. They did a thorough intake of my application, and spent quite a bit of time detailing out what type of dog would be best for my family. They gave open, educational and helpful information during each conversation. Once we had found the right dog, they even offered to have it delivered to my children on Christmas Day. They have an amazing program called Santa Paws, led by John. He and Mrs. Paws made the most incredibly memorable experience for my family. They even brought along the local news to capture the moment. Scout (formerly Dylan) came to us already vaccinated, neutered and very well taken care of. They even delivered him with a brand new crate, blankets, puppy bed, and enough food to last the first week, so we could just focus on helping him adjust to our family and home.
Our puppy, now called Scout, is 11 weeks old and is a complete sweetheart. He is already an important member of our family, and our 2 year old dog plays with him hourly. We are so happy we made the decision to rescue a puppy, and feel incredibly grateful for the diligence, care and passion we saw from every single Rancho Coastal representative. My wife and I adopted a puppy from RCHS and he has turned out to be a great dog! The process was smooth, and we appreciated that the staff really cared for each animal up for adoption and wanted to make sure we were a good fit as pet parents.
