Raindrop organizes many intercultural events. All backgrounds, faiths are welcomed. They thrive to close the gap between diverse groups which is the most needed act in today’s world. It is always wonderful to attend their events, sit around a table with all kinds of people and enjoy delicious food.
The raindrop foundation provides good opportunities for the community such as festivals, blood donation, donations to people in needs and gatherings for valuable topics for the community.
Raindrop helped me to meet, talk and listen different cultures of San Antonio. These events changed many of my wrong understandings, prejudices towards people of my city. I witness and wish continuity of their great contributions to our wonderful San Antonio.
I had the chance to join to Raindrop music ensemble that brings people from different backgrounds together.
I’ve not only learnt a lot about world music, but also met wonderful people. I started playing qanun and started a band, joined to another one, thanks to this group.
It was a highly enriching experience to meet all group members coming from various backgrounds.
Thanks to all organizers.
Have interacted with the Raindrop in San Antonio since 2013. It is a welcoming and non-judgemental safe space to learn and interact with a wide variety of people. Attended cooking classes, Ladies Coffee Nights, Sunday brunch, breaking the fast (Iftar during Ramaden), and other gatherings promoting local organizations such as the Diaper Bank, Battered Women’s shelter, etc. Also had gatherings that brought in speakers from other countries who proved an inside look at places around the world, i.e., Egypt, Poland, etc. Many interfaith dialogue opportunities also which I feel promote knowledge and tolerance of religious differences. I met so many wonderful people there.
I meet with Raindrop two years ago, they were organizing cultural festival.
They are organizing many intercultural, educational, and interfaith activities for San Antonio community.
I found Raindrop through a Craigslist ad inviting people to join their community ensemble four years ago, but I found so much more than great music! Raindrop run a vast variety of events that invest in the San Antonio community and facilitate dialogue and understanding. You can come to a cooking class! A "coffee night" lecture on women's issues! Learn a language! Give blood! Support new members of our community! Break the Eid fast with people from four different religions! I feel so lucky have met such a wonderful group of kind and generous people!
I was an immigrant trying to integrate to the new country I came ..Raindrop helped me a lot in the process of getting used to my new home..
