If you had the opportunity to work with Rae's Hope or be a part of the organization, you'll know how much of a positive impact they make in at-risk girls' lives within the South Dallas community. By improving access to team sports, it's clear how much the girls enjoy being a part of a team while experiencing the benefits of fitness. The organization also focuses on life skills learning through activity-based curriculum and the level of engagement from the girls shows how curious they are in learning and cultivating key skills. Being at the February 2020 Technology Day, it was great to see the girls be able to work through different stations (drone flying, video editing, robotics), working together and teaching one another, all while learning about technology. These are educational opportunities that these girls may otherwise not have access to. It has been amazing to see how interested the girls are in learning new things when they are given proper opportunities to do so.

Rae's Hope does great work with girls 5 to 18 years old in South Dallas. The organization provides fitness and sports activities, financial literacy education, exposure to technology, life skills coaching, overall mentoring, and more. By building knowledge, self-esteem, teamwork, and know-how in girls at a young age, Rae's Hope gives them a leg up in life and helps improve the long-term quality of the communities they live in.

As a board member of Rae's Hope, and someone who was raised in South Dallas, I have been privileged to witness the organization's remarkable impact on at-risk girls in South Dallas and the surrounding areas first hand. With a steadfast commitment to its mission, Rae's Hope empowers these young individuals to become productive, educated, and confident members of their communities. The preventive programs in place results in enabling these girls to stay in school, excel academically, and gain essential life and financial skills. This holistic approach not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to the betterment of the community at large.

Rae's Hope is more than just a charity; it is a beacon of hope and empowerment for these girls, with a promise to revive communities one child at a time. I urge everyone to support this organization, for the returns are not just seen in the lives of these girls but also in the positive transformation of our community.

As a former executive board member, my experience with Rae's Hope was exceptional. I worked with dedicated professionals and volunteers who, today, continue helping young ladies attain enriching life-affirming skills. This 14-year-old non-profit shatters the glass ceiling by allowing these mainly young Dallasites to develop social, nutritional, and financial competencies that facilitate pathways to successful futures. Through experiential learning during events in and around their communities, the students broaden their knowledge about themselves and their contribution to society.

Photos are attached of an April 2022 fundraising car wash event I spearheaded. The girls enacted existing skills and learned new ones by working collaboratively in some of the planning (making posters and rehearsing car wash roles), working diligently to meet the car wash goal, and interfacing with customers - all while having a good time.

The best part about working with Rae's Hope is the understanding that inspiring a child provides hope for an entire community.

I really enjoy working with the children and fellow volunteers of Rae’s Hope. It warms my heart when I see the children doing something we taught them. It shows that we are making a difference, they’re learning, and applying the lessons to their life. This nonprofit also gives the girls opportunities and resources they may not have access to otherwise, so it’s important that this organization continues to grow!

Rae's Hope is an amazing program from what I have experienced thus far. I joined Rae's Hope late 2019 and I had the opportunity to attend one of the annual events; technology day. I was able to witness first hand, the impact this organization is making in the South Dallas area for the young girls ages 5 to 18. The girls were accepting, appreciative, eager, and excited when they were introduced to various technology-related sessions. It was an inspiring event. Overall, Rae's hope offers a great way of learning, and being a woman of diversity it's important to have a program such as this, especially for young girls; a set curriculum and teach volleyball with a focus on fitness and health. When young kids, especially young girls are exposed to a positive environment that is encouraging and supportive then they have a sense of hope and confidence. This organization truly follows it's mission and vision, which helps keep a focus on the end result, which is to build a solid foundation for a better future for these young girls.

I learned about Rae’s Hope and the founder and Executive Director, Angela Fields in a Dallas Morning News article highlighting the competitive disadvantages in high school volleyball between girls from low income and tbetter access to resources. I learned that Rae’s Hope helps girls in South Dallas using volleyball as a vehicle to teach life skills and offer opportunities. Angela and her board are committed to the physical and emotional development of these girls. Rae’s Hope is an important partner with the community where after school opportunities may not be readily available to most families. Getting a chance to attend a college sponsored volleyball camp or play on a competitive club team are opportunities that many girls in the community do not have without access provided by Rae’s Hope. While the improvement of athletic skill is an outcome for participants in Rae’s Hope programming, the empowerment and confidence building of young girls Is Angela’s real mission.

Our neighbors in South Dallas have historically been overlooked by the broader community. Please help these young girls have opportunities in line with their peers in other parts of Dallas.

Rae's Hope does an amazing job of engaging and supporting at-risk girls in South Dallas. I started volunteering with the bicycle and volleyball programs and was subsequently inspired to join the board of directors to help facilitate and expand the organization. The educators engage the kids with educational songs and creative activities, and the coaches provide a lot of fun drills for them. The kids build meaningful friendships and work through conflict resolution as a group with adult facilitators to come to collaborative resolutions. The girls take pride in their progress and accomplishments, eagerly help newer and younger members, and encourage one another to stay on-task.

Well, to start off my daughter Asija and I have been apart of Raes Hope for 9 years. We met Angela Fields at Johnston Elem. , where my kids attended school. We heard about an afterschool program called," The fitness Club". Then after we joined Raes Hope Org.
My daughter Asija was quiet, shy, and soft spoken, but after being introduced to other girls her age, and the positive atmosphere she began to come out of her shell. Raes Hope Org gives girls in our community a chance to experience events, places, and opportunities that they might not encounter without Raes Hope Org. if offers girls and parents opportunities to bold together as well as bonding with other girls and parents. Raes Hope believes in giving back to the community, by helping in community gardens, helping clean-up the community . Also, The organization teaches the girls financial literacy, healthy eating, etiquette ,fitness, and tutoring for girls needing assistance with home work. With the help of many volunteers that are there to assist with the girls. Raes Hope girls have attended events such as GNO(girls night out) session with Margot Lee Shetterly(author of Hidden Figures Book) Mavericks Basketball and Rangers Baseball Games. Raes Hope mission" reviving communities one child at a time".

My name is Kiera Atkinson and my daughter Asija, we have been apart of Rae's Hope Org for 9 years now. We love being a part of Rae's Hope! The organization gives at risk girls a positive environment, a safe place to come to bond with other girls and volunteers. Rae's Hope empowers the girls and keeps them motivated. I'm a parent, volunteer, and also the Site Coordinator . When my daughter started out, she was shy, quiet spoken. But since becoming part of Rae's Hope she is outgoing, out spoken, and is becoming a productive young lady in school and in her community. Rae's Hope gives the girls opportunities, and exposes them to different aspects of life, that they might not get a chance to do. The organization has inspired me also. I'm thankful of such organizations as Rae's Hope, they put our youth first, providing such classes as healthy eating, physical fitness, computer technology. Also, it gives girls and parents the time to work together. The organization offers so much to us parents and girls. I plan on being a part of Rae's Hope, even after my daughter goes off to college. Rae's Hope offer field trips, healthy snacks, community events, bike riding, and volleyball. Rae's Hope helps girls to become productive adults. Reviving communities one child at a time.....

My experience with Rae's Hope in developing a database for them exposed me to a loving and passionate group of people working hard to insure at risk children have a chance to succeed in this world. Their focus on realistic activities and goal such as exercise, reading and basic money management programs seems to me to be a good approach to helping the children they serve.

Rae's Hope is a wonderful organization with the needs of the community at the center of its work. The dedication of the volunteers shine through in the participants and the parents. The children find the light that has always shone within them. Parents are inspired by their girls and become involved with the organization and the greater community. Parents also find a renewed desire to achieve their own dreams and goals. Rae's hope is about more than volleyball, community service, or any other activities offered by the organization. It is about hope above all else. Providing hope to the participants and the community at large.

I have only been with Rae's Hope for a short period of time, but i'm so impressed. Head coach Mrs. Donnie Fields and Angela Brown the team mom and many other women and volunteers that I don't know names because as I stated i'm new 2 this organization, but there are many other women. From the women helping the coach @ practice or the women that after your child practices in the back talking 2 the girls about age appropriate situations and life skills or just teaching your child how 2 send a email. These are great women that want 2 see your daughter succeed in life. Only GREAT things 2 say about this organization.

This program is amazing. Volleyball is a sport but Rae's Hope is so much more than that. My daughter name is Passion and she is like most kids, just want to have fun. Well before joining the program she would get bullied by her "friends". But that never stopped her from trying to be friends with everyone. She was getting in trouble at school for talking and playing when she should be listening and learning. She begged and plead to join the team. So we made a deal, she do well and be good at school she could join and i will volunteer with her. It has changed our household in ways we didnt expect. We look forward to practice each week. Passion has made many new true friends (teammates). She has shown interest in coding and programming. She has gained confidence and intergity. At home she teaches her baby sister to play and shares experiences with her. I too have enjoyed getting to know the all girls. They have taught me so much and each are special to me. Rae's Hope is part of our family and im happy to be apart of developing of these girls , not just my own.

Rae's Hope is a great nonprofit organization for girls. Girls are being taught the necessary social skills needed to persevere. Watching these girls grow into young ladies and enduring the challenging circumstance they face everyday is remarkable. They have talents, they have gifts to share with the world. Every young girl should get a chance to go through session with Rae's Hope. They learn how to stay physical fit, eat healthy, give back to their community and how to be financially prepared . They shine and radiated like the sun, energy and light. Give Rae's Hope a try. Its a wonder organization for girls in Dallas Texas.
