I have volunteered with Querencia Community Bike Shop for 2 years, and in that time the group has received their 501c3 status, begun holding standing weekly workshops open the the public, and most recently signed a 5 year lease on a piece of property. The group is still hosting shops where individuals can learn to maintain and repair their own bicycle, or can learn skills by working on donated bikes that will go back to the community. Very soon we will have a permanent public home where we can expand workshop hours and improve storage options, as well as hold larger events and maybe even host after school programs.
