I am a committed professional with over 8 years of experience, as well as a proud student. The organization I proudly serve known as “Q” holds deep personal meaning for me. It stands as a beacon of hope, a space space where we ignite inspiration, love, and optimism in the lives of children every single day. Being part of this remarkable team has not only enriched my career but also helped me grow into a better person.
The Quality Life of SWFL has been a huge part of not just my children’s lives but also my own. I have been associated with the Q for close to 30 years and even though I was a troubled teen, Mr. Muhammed, as well as the staff of the Q, never gave up on me. My children are a part of the Q family now and are growing tremendously! I am so grateful for the Q and their staff.

I have been connected to the Quality of Life Center of SWFL for over 20 years. I went through a life skills training program as a young adult that helped me get my life together. Currently, I have a 14 year old daughter who has blossomed because of her connection to the Q, a 10 year old son who is growing into a very productive young man and we are looking forward to seeing our 3 year old twins to becoming a part of the Q family soon. The Quality of Life Center has been beneficial not just to my family but many others and this organization has become a valuable part of our community.
The Q is awesome very hands on always is looking out for the best ingress of the children. I also attended the Q when I was my kids age when it first opened and I couldn’t have kids so they could experience it as well
As a volunteer and supporter of the "Q Family" I have had the opportunity to witness the amazing positive influence and transformation of the lives of those persons connected and serviced by the Quality Life Center SWFL Inc. The dedication of the staff, volunteers and supporters in their desire to inspire the necessary growth and development skills within the youth and their family members, that I believe will ultimately lead to the required character traits and abilities that will help to promote and establish the best community life. Thank you Quality Life Center of SWFL for all the good that you do !!!
I've been going to the Q since I was 6 years old and ever since the programs have been a great experience and everyday they're still improving and making things better for the community. I've been learning lots of things in the Arts & Leadership programs that they serve. The Q is like a home and they make me feel safe, I also enjoy having the experience to teach and provide for others as well as being around the kids makes me feel happy and I really enjoy it.
I'm truly blessed to have the Q in my corner! I’ve have been going to the “Q” since I was 4. I truly can say Quality Life Center has taught me a lot in life and also is shaping me to become a school principal. I can say from every staff member at the Q has taught me something valuable that I will remember for the rest of my life.
I’ve have been going to the “Q” since I was 9. I truly can say Quality Life Center has had an outstanding impact on my life. I have had the opportunity to be apart of the amazing dance program and be an employee.
My journey with the Quality Life Center began at the tender age of 11 and has spanned over two decades. This institution has been instrumental in shaping the person I am today, teaching me the essence of respect, business acumen, martial arts, and the core values of grit and determination. One of the invaluable lessons was learning business fundamentals through selling water on street corners to our local community. This hands-on experience was not just about making sales; it taught us to count money, understand the difference between net profit and gross profit, and it illuminated the boundless opportunities available for those creative and attentive to community needs.
Additionally, QLC broadened our horizons by introducing us to local leaders, from city council members to police officers. These interactions taught us lessons that have been invaluable in my life and, I know, in the lives of others. They showed us the power of engagement and the importance of understanding our civic duties and the role of governance, fostering a sense of responsibility and a desire to contribute positively to our society.
The discipline, education, and knowledge instilled in me from such a young age have been the bedrock of my achievements. Thanks to the foundation laid by QLC, I was able to join the military, purchase a house at a young age, and strive for continuous improvement in my life.
QLC is more than just a center; it’s a beacon of hope and a builder of futures. The lessons learned and the values adopted here have far-reaching impacts, extending beyond individual success to contribute to the betterment of our communities. I am a testament to the transformative power of the Quality Life Center, and I fervently hope it continues to enlighten and empower many more generations to come.
Supporting QLC means investing in a brighter, more resilient future. I urge everyone to recognize the immense value that this nonprofit organization brings to our lives and our communities. Let’s ensure that the Quality Life Center is acknowledged as a TOP NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, for it truly deserves this recognition. My story is just one of many, but it speaks volumes about the potential and promise that lies within QLC’s walls. Let’s give back to the place that has given us so much.
As a parent, I cannot speak highly enough of this afterschool program Quality Life Center. From the moment I enrolled my child, I was impressed by the programs dedication to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment. The staff members are highly qualified and are also genuinely caring, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported. What truly sets this program apart is its emphasis on holistic development, offering a diverse range of educational and social activities that cater to each child’s unique interests and talents. As a result, I’ve seen my child not only thrive academically, but also grow into a confident and empathetic individual. Quality Life Center has truly become an invaluable part of our family’s routine, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the positive impact it has had on my child’s life.
It’s a great program that provides community engagement through volunteer opportunities, they have game night with l.i.t.e which is a program that teens host to watch and have fun games and activities with kids, they have Job fairs and lots of opportunities. The program offers educational activities beyond homework help, such as STEM projects, arts and crafts, or cultural enrichment activities. The program ensures the safety and well-being of children, including qualified staff, appropriate facilities, and adherence to health and safety guidelines. Opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s afterschool experience, whether through regular communication, parent workshops, and parent meetings. The program fosters positive social skills and relationships among children, such as through teamwork activities, conflict resolution strategies, and opportunities for leadership development.
I do not know where to begin about the positive impact that Quality Life Center has had on my son and family over the past decade. They provide much more than just summer camp, afterschool care or activities; they offer a supportive community that fosters growth and development in various aspects of life.
My son's journey and growth at Quality Life Center, from martial arts to performing arts and beyond, highlight the holistic approach they take towards education and personal development. It's evident that the team at QLC is dedicated to instilling essential life skills and values in their students, preparing them for success in the future.
It's heartening to know that organizations like Quality Life Center exist, providing a nurturing environment where children can thrive and learn beyond the traditional classroom setting. Their results driven approach speaks volumes about the profound impact such community-based organizations can have on shaping the lives of young individuals.
My Son is the man he is today because of his experiences throughout the past 10 years and Quality Life Center. He aspires to continue his journey even as a teen with his Q family!
The best in our neighborhood.
Perfect environment for our children. Preschool, after school summer program, Hot meals served everyday. Safe clean environment. Dance Programs and much more.
I volunteer as a photographer for QLC events and I do so gladly! The children at The Q are AMAZING. First, they are RESPECTFUL. Then comes all the other adjectives: courteous, helpful, joyful and talented. I look forward to the summer showcase every year because I know that The Q kids will BRING IT! I have seen so many kids come up through the program and they are flourishing as young adults. That foundation that The Q builds in each child shows up in their school life and their home life. The staff at The Q is the most dedicated group of people in our area. They work and do what they do because of their love of our community and the children.
Ok where do I start. As a parent, community partner & volunteer the Q is a staple in our community. The main focus is the children but they also understand that we as parents need support too weather is be financially, emotionally or physically. This type of support is life changing. My 11 year old son has been apart of the Q family for 4 years . Even tho my daughter is not attending just yet she is treated as she is. Mrs. Allen has not only been helping me with my son to stay on the right path but I am able to seek her guidance in regards to my daughter’s behavior. The Q is our extended family
I had my son at the age of 17, I walked the stage and graduated with college credits. I was young and it was a new journey but I was determined. I heard about Quality Life Center from my aunt and when my son turned 5 I ran to get him registered. At first, I thought it was just somewhere safe I could send my son while I attend college classes and work but I later found out that it was so much more. The people at Quality Life Center have become a family. The minute you walk through the door you’re greeted with a smile, a hug, or a simply “good morning/afternoon.” As a single mom, discipline and structure are important and QLC helps instill that into the children and even the parents. When you walk in you greet and you are greeted, that is the expectation and it feels welcoming. There are no cell phones in the lobby and you actually talk and have conversation with the people around you. The children are taught to meditate and release whatever energy they’ve had before coming in. The kids are given time to do their homework and also socialize with their friends. My son has learned karate at QLC, he’s participated in different performances, learned to play different sports, and also created things in both art and stem. I’m now the mom of three kids; a 10 year old son, a 7 year old daughter, and a 6 month old daughter and we’re still a part of the QLC family. Recently, I loss someone important in my life and QLC has played a big part in me getting back on track. I was offered therapy and counseling sessions to help guide me through the grief process, my kids were offered services, and the staff were more than supportive. When we lost our home, QLC was more than willing to help with resources and anything else that the kids and I needed. We’ve been offered clothes, diapers, food, and other personal items during our transition. I appreciate Quality Of Life Center so much for being a second family to me and my little tribe.

Hi,
My name is Robbin Addison and I want to tell you about Quality life and how they have change my family life. Quality life gave me free flooring for my house and I was able to get my floors fixed from Hurricane Ian. They also have changed my daughters life with the dance class. She loves to dance and there she really gets to show off how she loves it. I love how they spend time with the kids having fun but most importantly EDUCATION!! They make sure we give them the kids report card so they can see where each child needs help and they help the kids with tutoring. And I'm also thankful for the food distribution weekly. It really helps out in my household. All around Quality Life Center has been such a blessing to my family.
Thank you,
Robbin Addison

The mission for the Q is "To stive to strengthen and instill pride into family's" and they have done just that. Quality life center has been such an amazing place for my teen daughter, caring staff and positive energy here. I highly encourage parents to have their children join here, for growth and prosperity for their future.
I worked there for a summer and a school year. Wonderful experience. They taught me to be strong, caring, and compassionate. I also loved the kids. What an amazing experience and opportunity I had. QLC does something no one else accomplishes. They care for kids, empower parents to dig deeper emotionally to be there for their families, and increase community awesome of itself to grow with families, schools, and the interconnected that businesses desire to make the entire process easier for kids to grow and flourish. Community identity!!!
I own a hair salon in Downtown Ft. Myers. I don't have any kids that attend Quality Life Center, but being a hairstylist, I LOVE seeing all my client's kids in the program. I have attended every Summer Showcase and I absolutely LOVE them!!! Seeing the kids singing, dancing and acting. Oh and I Love the gymnastics moves they incorporate into the show as well. The kids have such bright smiles and are so excited to present the show that they've worked on all Summer. A client of mine volunteered one Summer and was So Impressed by the structure and discipline that the children showed in the program. He couldn't stop talking about it and it changed his life as a teacher in the public school system. I recommend the Q to any new clients that sit in my chair looking for an after school or summer program for their children to attend.
My children have been attending Quality Life Center for seven years and I could not think of a better place for them to be a part of. From the time you enter the building to the time you leave you are greeted with friendly faces, smiles, and greetings. The committee they have to the children and the community is beyond measure. After hurricane Ian Quality Life Center was there to make sure my family and I were safe and provided us with needed supplies and food during this disaster.

Quality Life Center ( The Q )
My name is Cathy Brown and my daughter is Gennifer Rhodes Brown. Gennifer started at the Q at 5 years old and she is now 16. The Q has been more than an after school program to me; it is my family. About 11 years ago my quiet and shy little girl walked in and out came a beautiful, smart, intelligent and empowered young lady. The Q has shown me and my child that you can be more than your 33916 zip code. I will be forever grateful for all the kind words and love that the Q showed me when my mom passed and also when my husband had open heart surgery. The one thing that I love about the Q is every time I walk through the door everyone knows your name and talking to the staff is like talking to a sister or brother at home. I would not trust my child to no one else but family and to me that is the Q my family.

This is a truly amazing place that works to serve the community to better it by enriching children. Wonderful programs and resources
Quality Life Centers has been around for many years and has truly transformed the community. They are developing leaders that will make the community even stronger in years to come.
The Quality Life Center, or as it is locally called, the “Q,” has consistently assessed the needs of the local community and found innovative ways to expand and address those needs. It is an irreplaceable asset to children, families, and the surrounding community.
One of the most amazing and dedicated team that I have met in the Non Profit world. They are truly changing peoples lives for the better!
Love sending my daughter to the Quality Life Center in Ft. Myers, Fl…! As a parent, it’s important that my child is in an environment m, over the summer, that will continue to enhance her education and provide positive activities that stimulate physical exercise as well as fun learning! And it’s affordable and the staff (top down) love on all the kids…! I would most definitely send my child back!
I got involved with the Q as an intern through FGCU's social work department, and have since started working for them. A few things I love about the Q are the following: they are supportive of staff and volunteers (it has been a really good experience for me as a new mom) and they encourage staff to pursue what they love. It's most interesting to me that the kids who leave the afterschool and come back are always excited to see old instructors again.
Quality Life Center has been a beacon of hope and service for the Dunbar community for over 30 years. It has been a pleasure to support them. They are committed to leading a legacy of sustainability, impact, and transformation in the community.
The Quality of Life Center's credo is very inspiring: Quality Life Center operates from the premise that if a child and community receives love, develops a healthy respect for the Creator, and forms a positive self-image, then they will be best prepared to meet life’s challenges.
Today's children are the future of our society. By providing a protective and nurturing environment for less advantaged children, QLC is helping ensure that these children will grow up to be responsible adults who contribute to the society they live in. I feel it is our collective duty to help give them a chance to be the best they can be, and QLC's mission is to help them achieve this goal. QLC provides just as important service to their local community as Red Cross and Harry Chapin does on a broader scale.
The Quality Life Center of SW Florida is unlike any other youth organization that I've encountered. I am a Social Worker who has served children & families for over 12 years & I've been able to observe programs fails while others succeed. There are several well respected organizations in Southwest Florida that lead & inspire youth however, in my humble opinion, the Quality Life Center has a distinguished mark of effort & excellence.
The 'Q' is best known for it's ability interrupt heartbreaking cycle of poverty by providing support to help meet the needs of underlying issues within the Dunbar community. The 'Q' emphasizes self- sufficiency, self control & self acceptance through various arts & educational programs. The 'Q' uses programs such as martial arts to boost confidence, discipline & responsibility while simultaneously providing a safe space for children to define, interpret, & express their emotions without fear. The meditation program is something that has worked to help ease the stress of what children are facing today. I truly believe that many things can be better approached form a place of relaxation. The Quality Life Center has produced productive, civil & well rounded youth & I am proud that this organization exists here in our community.
Quality Life Center (also known as "The Q") is an amazing agency that has a huge impact on the Southwest Florida community. The Q has helped provide academic and social support to hundreds of children and young adults. I first began working with the Quality Life Center in a service-learning partnership through Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). The Quality Life Center has taught my students and I valuable lessons in problem solving, critical thinking, leadership, and compassion. The Quality Life Center provides a safe space for the youth and young adults of the community while also serving as an educational outlet for the students of local colleges and universities. The brilliant partnership has not gone unnoticed. In fact, FGCU and The Q have won multiple awards through Florida Campus Compact for the incredible work that they have done together.
If you are looking for a life-changing experience, consider volunteering with or donating to the Quality Life Center.
Mr. Kev
For the past 3 years, I have been a volunteer at The Q. I began this journey as a representative of Health Lee. As my involvement increased, I quickly realized the importance of mentoring. These young men and women are afforded opportunities which help to shape their character as they grow intellectually, physically and gain a capacity for their community. The Quality Life Center provides a platform for young people grow and I am elated to be a part of that process.
I became involved with the Quality Life Center after my niece began participating in their after school and summer camp program. The "Q" as it is affectionately known, are in an under-served area of SW Florida and located in the heart of a community where unemployment and poverty is higher than the national average. The success stories than I have witnessed coming out of this community facility won my heart over and they will forever have my support!
over several years, from time to time I pick my niece up from the after school program. The more time I spent in the facility or one of the many workshops for the kids the more familiar I became with the overall services they provide for the children and teens. They not only provide after school care, they care! The children receive homework help, tutoring, dance classes, martial arts, meditation and a hot meal. There are just a few services that drew me in. It is also the people, the staff, and the volunteers who go above and beyond to encourage, uplift and minister to our future hope, those children!
Many of the young ladies who have participated in the dance program both after school and summer camp have also had the opportunity to perform in the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker that performs every year at the Barbara B. Mann Arts facility. As part of that participation they would also enjoy going to an actual musical. The exposure that they receive to the arts, STEM, educational projects all help students to reach their potential and also helps to build their self esteem and life problem solving skills.
I have watched my niece master dance number after dance number, sometimes having to remember numerous dance routines without skipping a beat, all while maintaining an A+ average. And not just my niece, I have watched children start the summer program who have never so much as seen a "musical," blossom on stage with the seasoned vets and the end of summer musical. I have watched young men step up and guide the younger men through summer rehearsals and afternoon tutoring sessions. It really does take a village!!!
I have volunteered in our school district for over 20 years and I have never seen anything close to or as remarkable a place than The Quality Life Center that puts mutual respect, education, esteem and self-worth first! The Quality Life Center has literally transformed lives and that transforms the community!

"Q" Auntie
I came upon this phenomenal organization when I started my freshman year at FGCU. What started as a first year volunteer day turned into an experience that I didn't even realize I would be continuing throughout my four years of college. I have personally watched this organization grow from having an immense amount of students and still having a waiting list to now seeing them about to complete the ground breaking for their new expansion that will hold even more students.
This organization is the heart of the Dunbar community. The community has given to this organization just as this organization has given to the community. It has helped families like single parents with multiple children not have to worry about if their child is going to have dinner at night or if they will struggle with their homework. The Quality of Life Center ensures all children have a meal before they go home, and they even have the children eat dinner together so they can talk about their day and understand the true meaning of family. After class, I look forward to going to the Quality of Life Center even if all of my friends that I've made there continue to beat me in playing cards. The personality of the kids who attend is just so exuberant. They are all so diverse, and so different and the Quality of Life Center is a place that helps them embrace their true inner self.
The Quality of Life Center provides tutoring, and resources for students like community involvement opportunities, and topics for discussion like sex education and how the youth can become better global citizens. The Quality of Life center offers children offers recreational art activities like dance, meditation, and musical opportunities. The Quality of Life Center is more than an organization, it is an investment. It invests in the future of youth by allow them to experience college tours, and cultural experience tours to explore the possibilities of the world around them. The fruit of this organization radiates into the surrounding community and gives them hope to continue even in hard times. The foundation of the Quality of Life Center was built on making a difference in the world and bringing change to those around them.
