Nonprofit Overview
Causes: AIDS, Health, Homeless & Housing, Housing Search Assistance, Job Training, Vocational Rehabilitation
Mission: We believe in a world where all people have a safe, decent, and affordable home. Toward this vision, we prevent homelessness for people with HIV/AIDS by protecting the housing people already have, providing resources to help secure new housing, and promoting public policy to increase housing opportunities.
Programs: Our program, AIDS Housing Alliance/SF provides housing referrals, deposit assistance, tenant's rights counseling, credit wellness & homeownership clinics, application assistance, peer advocacy and public policy advocacy. We will serve over 400 housholds this year with direct assistance, the majority of whom are disabled people with AIDS who are homeless due the becoming impoverished after losing their ability to work. We are the only AIDS organization in SF that provided housing public policy advocacy at thte state and local level.
