As the President of a non-profit organization that provides affordable, long-term, permanent housing for individuals with disabilities, I have been affiliated with PWA Holiday Charities for over 8+ years. At least 2-3 times a year, this organization graciously provides much needed financial assistance to ALL of our residents, all of whom receive monthly income that place them far below the NATIONAL POVERTY level. On behalf of our board and the residents we serve, we are privileged to be a recipient of the unselfish generosity of this fine organization.
Sincerely,
Elliot P. Gite, Chairman

PWA Holiday Charities has always been there though so many crucial times in our Houston history. They have always stayed on one task to help as many people with AIDS and HIV in the Houston area. Their giving has no boundaries and these folks that have raised money and given to others have the biggest hearts in Texas! There are few Charities that have the reputation, competency, and professional that PWA Holiday Charities possess. For a small board, they have rallied battle cries for hundreds and even thousands of people to volunteer and donate their time and money to help others! I Thank God for PWA Holiday Charities has been here during my lifetime to help others.
The Holiday Charities has celebrated a long tradition of giving back 100% of its Holiday Fund to the persons they serve with HIV/AIDS.
A member for over 2 decades I can attest to its devotion to helping those affected with and by HIV. I am proud of this fine organization!
Living in the Houston area, I can attest to the real benefit that they give directly to the folks they serve. Whether it is the holiday gifts they give out to those affected by HIV or the utility services they provide for the local HIV hospice, or even the support they give to the campsite that caters to HIV affected families, this organization and their members always lead with their heart. Their board and members are all hard working, and trustworthy volunteers that give their time, money, and effort to lift hearts during the holidays.
For the past 20 years, I have been a singing-volunteer for PWA Holiday Charities. Raising money for Holiday Charities was/is my primary focus as Daddy Of Montrose 2019-2020 as well. They have provided financial, material or spiritual gifts for thousands of people; even during the pandemic, which has struck our great country. The people they give to are our brothers, sisters, friends and family: in need. PWA Holiday Charities has and always will be there and, it is both a honor and a privilege to be a part of such an incredible organization.

Back in 1992, I heard about what the PWA Holiday Fund did to lift people's spirits during the Holiday Seasons. Then I had the privilege of meeting the founder of this idea that became a Charity. We became friends and I saw first hand the joy the gift cards ( Kroger & Target ) brought to people’s faces. To know you helped some less fortunate than oneself to purchase food and possibly even go purchase for themselves or a gift for a parent was better than a vacation. Assisting people and seeing the results of it, I put myself in a position to hold a microphone and assisted this organization in raising funds to carry forth their endeavors. Today, I am now on the Board of Directors of the PWA Holiday Charities that now has their own 501 ( c ) 3 status and enjoying it more and more every year. I have seen the work these volunteers do and I am very proud to be a part of this team.
Five (5) years ago I was speaking to a gentleman about where in the Community I could invest my time and energy. I had been in Houston for a few years and wanted to contribute. He recommended PWA Holiday Charities and the rest, as they say, has been history. For being a small organization, they are a powerhouse in the Community. For over 30 years, the efforts to raise monies and support those less fortunate at the Holidays has been exemplary. It is hard to go anywhere in the Houston LGBTQA+ Community and not know PWA. I am honored to have been welcomed into this organization and into this Community. I plan on being here a while.
I am the board chair of a non-profit organization that provides affordable, long-term housing exclusively for persons with HIV/AIDS. For the last 6 years, it has been through the unselfish generosity of the PWA Holiday Charities that our residents receive $200 gift certificates 3 times a year. Since most of our residents live at or below the National Poverty Level, the annual gifts to all of our residents from the PWA Holiday Charities is truly a godsend, which enables our residents to purchase food and other essential living items.
On behalf of our board and the residents we serve, I am proud to offer our review of the PWA Holiday Charities as a organization deserving of national recognition.
Sincerely,

This is a charity that has been around for a long time and has helped so many people in their times of need. Long before other organizations were working to assist this cause it was working hard to raise money. Through assorted benefit shows and giving platforms they have raised a tremendous amount of funds for the needy.
