Pushing for Peace is working worldwide to help combat some of the senseless violence that we see, especially among young people. Since the early 90's Peace Game ambassadors have travelled the world teaching children and adolescents, many who have been traumatized by war and poverty, about empathy and connection with others and teaches active listening, empathy and conflict resolution. The practice is based on tai chi principles which have proven track record in improving stress and anxiety.

My experience with Pushing for Peace has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. As a mediator and Qi Gong practitioner, I was immediately drawn to the organization's mission of reducing bullying in schools. Partnering with the founder, Master Sifu Marilyn Cooper, we collaborated to design a more comprehensive version of the Peace Games. The standard offering (called the Peace Games) of nine interactive exercises was enhanced to help connect the dots between the exercises and conflict resolution theory and practice (called the Peace Partnership Project). The Peace Games children's program simplifies Tai Chi principles and incorporates concepts like active listening, empathy, and conflict resolution. Through the Peace Partnership Project, participants engage in both cerebral and physical activities, exploring the underlying concepts of each Peace Game. This program empowers individuals to achieve higher states of being while creating a safe space to share their thoughts and feelings within a circle of trust.
