Mission: The pui tak center was established to be a christian witness to the chinese community in metropolitan chicago through education, family and community services.
Programs: The adult education and training program helps immigrants develop english language skills and other skills needed for work, community and family life. Classes offered include: english as a second language (esl), citizenship, workforce preparation, computer training and restaurant sanitation certification.
the children and youth program provides academic tutoring and enrichment programs during the summer and school year. Services for children include: after school tutoring, enrichment classes (chinese language, esl and abacus), jsp jumpstart summer program and music lessons. Services for youth include: after school tutoring, enrichment (choir and lego robotics through a partnership with after school matters), sat preparation classes, summer esl classes and service learning. The community program provides information and referral services, immigration legal assistance, community service projects and workshops and disability services (support group for parents and advocacy). Pui tak center coordinates with the outreach program of the chinese christian union church. Program activities include spiritual counseling, yunn fook drop-in center, weekly bible studies, esl outreach classes and special events.
