Mission: Promote athletic competition within the latino population of the united states, with a special emphasis on the latino community of puerto rico.
Programs: The federation offers programs and support to its future diverse membership such as; the developmental competition under the prfsf's campeonato internacional principiante (or beginner international competitions) program. We implemented the learn to skate program with the help of carolina and aguadilla ice rink leadership. We have modified the program to serve and meet the needs of the local community in aguadilla, puerto rico and carolina puerto rico. We created a new website in both english and spanish for all the members that live inside and outside of puerto rico. The prfsf basic skills program will help teach all the fundamentals of figure skating. The program was designed by u. S. Figure skating association and is the best beginning ice skating program that is challenging and rewarding. With the permission to utilize this program and once modified as our own, the prfsf can insure that the young children in puerto rico have from inception the best in figure skating instruction. The curriculum is designed to keep skaters enthusiastic about learning from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals. Whether the goal is to achieve olympic fame or simply enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, the basic skills program will set a foundation. The entire basic skills program has special classes for many facets of skating including free skate, pairs, synchronized skating, choreography (artistry in motion) and hockey. The objectives of the program are:1. To provide skating experience for the beginner as well as the more advanced skaters2. To teach correct technique of the basic elements of skating3. To develop a finer degree of coordination and balance4. To promote physical fitnesswe are making progress in many areas including in the international arena.
