Programs: Advocated for effective management of 245 million acres of public land administered by blm for the public's benefit and enjoyment. Produced quarterly issues of newsletter "the public lands monitor. " with a distribution to about 1000 recipients. Provided recommendations and input on various issues to the blm, department of the interior and congress.

educated members on land issues and providing information and books to members on related issues. Held an annual convention for members to network and share views on blm issues. Maintained archives, which contain thousands of papers, documents, books and photos and other historical memorabilia from the blm and its employees.

supported national public land day, a national event that shows appreciation for the public lands all over the united states. In 2014, there were over 175,000 volunteers at 2,237 sites, of which about 200 were on lands administered by the blm.

organized and hosted a "student congress" that involved 21 college and graduate students who developed recommendations on wilderness and public land management. These recommendations were provided to the department of the interior and bureau of land management. Awarded two 5,000. 00 scholarships to college students earning degrees in public land management or related fields. Neither student had any relationship to plf board members or organization members. Wrote published and distributed 15,000 copies of "america's public lands: origin, history, future. " a brochure the defines aned clarifies the status of federal public lands in america.
