Causes: AIDS, Health, Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, one of the first AIDS organizations established in the United States, works to foster health, independence and dignity for people living with HIV/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis by providing care, support and housing. We work to help reduce the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections through prevention, education and testing services. Our services span all of Cape Cod and the Islands and whenever possible, ASGCC works to address the global epidemic.
Results: In our 30-plus years ASGCC has provided comfort, care and services to hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS including access to lifesaving medical care, food and nutrition and housing. Our prevention and screening team has reached literally hundreds of thousands of people with access to health information and linkages to care when appropriate.
Target demographics: people living with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, Substance abuse issues and to prevent the further spread of HIV-transmission.
Direct beneficiaries per year: nearly 450 individuals living with HIV/AIDS and reached nearly 100,000 people through testing and screening.
