Programs: Provide subsidized housing with 77 one-bedroom units to low income elderly and physically disabled persons. During 2014, there were 38,326 tenant days. Overviewprovidence gamelin house is a high-quality, supportive housing program founded by the sisters of providence and owned and managed by providence health and services. Designed and built especially for low-income, aging seniors, the building features 77 private apartments with all the comforts of home. Each apartment includes full kitchen amenities with a dining area, a private bathroom with tub or walk-in shower, built-in storage and an open floor plan. Shared laundry facilities and welcoming community spaces are available to all residents. Located in the rainier vista community in south seattle, providence gamelin house provides safe and affordable housing for seniors with easy access to seattle's link light rail and metro buses, local markets, restaurants, entertainment and community events. Apartments are located above providence elderplace, an innovative and voluntary program of health care and social services. Providence gamelin house is a perfect choice for seniors who enjoy community living in an urban environment. Providence places a high value in supporting individual residents and creating a vibrant community by providing raised garden beds, a shared computer lab with internet access, gathering spaces for resident groups, and a wide variety of scheduled activities including educational and recreational programming. A service coordinator can help residents identify and access local resources and services and can advocate for residents who need assistance. Providence gamelin house receives an operating subsidy from the united states department of housing and urban development (hud). Hud requirements state that applicants for housing at providence gamelin house must be at least 62 years of age at the time of application and their annual income cannot exceed 50% of the area median income. Residents pay approximately 30% of their monthly income toward their rent and utilities.
