Mission: Proveedoras Unidas de Eastern Washington (PUEW) is an organization created by Early Childhood Educators, recognized within the Eastern and Central Washington community. Our mission is to promote intercultural understanding and support early childhood educators in overcoming challenges while amplifying their voices. PUEW offers a diverse range of programs and resources designed to empower early childhood educators. These offerings include professional development workshops, networking opportunities, and advocacy initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of early childhood education. By fostering a nurturing community and equipping educators with essential tools, PUEW enables them to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children and their families. In addition, PUEW provides safety training in adult and child first aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens for certifications and renewals. PUEW also offers continuing education training STARS for childcare providers and conduct various educational webinars throughout the year, focusing on enhancing the quality of care and education provided to children, as well as essential topics for childcare providers, including Business Management, Financial Literacy, Recordkeeping and Deductible Expenses.
Results: PUEW has significantly enhanced the understanding and confidence of childcare providers and early child educators through various initiatives. Over the past two years, we have successfully hosted webinars that have reached over 800 providers in the last 2 years. Notably, our recordkeeping and IRS deductions webinar, offered in both English and Spanish, has been a tremendous success and is now an annual offering, presented by partnering with an over 10-year experienced accountant in this field who updates the content according to tax regulation changes. We have also informed our members about state grant opportunities, successfully guiding many applicants in securing funding to improve and expand their businesses, open new childcare facilities, hire staff, and develop better curricula. In 2024, we provided training for businesses to obtain or renew CPR, First Aid, AED and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications. Additionally, PUEW has supported new entrants and interested parties in navigating the process of obtaining home daycare licenses, assisting them in preparing for inspections and compiling necessary manuals. Our commitment to training and resources continues to empower providers to enhance the quality of care for children and families in our community.
