I was able to meet a clinic volunteer who told me that a year ago he was homeless and he was a patient at the clinic. He told me that because of the clinic he was able to be healthy again and get into a more supportive stable circumstance. At that moment I knew this clinic was special and that my time was really helping those in my community who truly needed it.
volunteering with the promethean group is very rewarding. As a student FNP I am sharing my expertise and skills learned to those in need. Not only are we helping those in need, we are giving them a sense of compassion and comfort in knowing that some one cares. The services that are provided at the clinic are amazing. I personally love how different organizations come out to participate in helping with medical and non medical needs. I plan on continuing to volunteer with the Promethean group after graduation
I have been working with the Promethean group for about a year now. As a volunteer, I have been very impressed with their program. The process of working for and with them has been very easy, and I usually don't feel that is the case with volunteering other places. They are very open both to feedback and to new ideas. The program has expanded even in the time since I have been there and added multiple other benefits to their participants in an attempt to provide holistic and seamless services. The board is accessible, open and earnest. Overall, its been a great pleasure.
It is refreshing to be a part of giving back in my field, but even more rewarding to see all the different types of professions working together.
It is great to see different people with different backgrounds and professions to give back all for the same mission to provide access to medical treatment and resources for the underserved. I am so glad to be apart of this wonderful cause.
