Project T.O.O.U.R. has served four neighborhoods in Baltimore, Maryland officially for 13 years. One of the neighborhoods, Westport has been a victim of gentrification in the worse sense, politically, crime, a poor performing school and a failed waterfront development. Throughout this time this organization has continued to serve a large number of residents of all ages. They have worked dispite the politics and the lack of support from Baltimore City. I admire their continued determination to make things work as they as "in spite of" lack of support of the developers friends. Our agency send clients to them regularly and they help them in areas that we did not send them their for. My respect for them as individuals is that this is an all volunteer organization. It is worth it to check them out to see how you can help them, especially in renovating their buildings.
Project T.O.O.U.R. has provided services throughout the years that have helped my family through tough times. Our children participate in most of their programs and my wife and I both got our GED and jobs because of the extra tutorials and family strengthening activities that they encourage. We are now on our feet and volunteer with the organization to help others.
