Mission: To discover, inspire and develop the talents of middle school students with extraordinary gifts in mathematics.
Programs: Project megsss offers several math programs. Elements, our traditional program for students scoring in the top 2% on standardized tests, begins in the summer and continues after-school for up to three school years. Offshoots of this program include an in-school program at mckinley classical leadership academy, a gifted magnet school in the saint louis public school district and a licensed site in rolla, missouri. Total unique students served in elements were 182 ; this includes 99 students in the after-school program, 16 at mckinley, and 17 students in rolla. The program graduated 14 students in may 2015. Mathjam is a mathematics-based summer camp designed for both advanced megsss students and other students who love math and are scoring in the top 10% on standardized tests. Mathjam enrolled 33 unique students in a total of 92 courses. Total instructional hours for all summer programs were approximately 6,500 hours. New for programming this year was an adjunct offeringan amc 8 masterclass series and open math competition. 20 students participated in the masterclass and 23 competed. Three of our students ranked nationally, one in the top 5%.
