I joined Project HEAL as a volunteer in 2014. I started following them on social media to get motivated to start my eating disorder recovery journey. They provided me with a sense of community and gave me the resources to start treatment for my eating disorder. With Project HEAL by my side I currently have 7 years of recovery under my belt. Through Project HEAL, I have gone from a volunteer Ambassador to volunteer Ambassador Program Co-Manager where I help to support over 800 Project HEAL volunteers. Project HEAL is dedicated to helping folks overcome barriers to accessing life saving eating disorder treatment. For example, Project HEAL's Cash Assistance Program gets dollars directly into the pockets of folks who need help affording co-pays, groceries, airfare, gas cards, and more while in treatment. I deeply resonate with this cause as someone who spent $130 per week traveling to and from Day Treatment. These costs caused stress and often times hindered my ability to make it to session. Project HEAL helps eliminate the financial pressures that folks are faced with. Project HEAL saved my life, continues to impact my life for the better, and works hard every day to help countless of lives get access to treatment and healing.

Project HEAL is such an important part of my story. They played a part in saving my life when every other door to treatment was closed on me. The work being done at Project HEAL to break down barriers to treatment is life-saving and life-changing.

As a Board Member for Project HEAL I've seen firsthand the way that this organization is breaking down the systemic barriers that make it difficult for marginalized identities to get the support and care for their eating disorder that they deserve. They are not only saving lives, but also helping change these systems so that in the future, more and more folx will get the help that they are entitled to.

I'm a proud Board Member for Project Heal, and as such, I get an intimate look at how hard this nonprofit works to get those suffering with eating disorders the life saving treatment they need, and otherwise wouldn't have access to.

Project HEAL is the first and only non-profit of its kind. Staff are empathetic and so highly caring about helping marginalized folxs with eating disorders gain access to the treatment they need. Wether it's obtaining a residential bed at no cost to the client or paying for a deductible so someone can attend IOP/PHP and even obtaining pro-bono outpatient therapist and dietitians. Not just as a board member but as a provider I am indebted to this team who have helped save the lives of my clients.

Project HEAL is making leaps and bounds to help marginalized individuals find eating disorder recovery which is extremely difficult to finance. This organization saves lives. Eating disorder prevention is suicide prevention.

Project HEAL is a wonderful organization that works to fight inequity in treatment access for people with Eating Disorders. PH offers treatment scholarships, direct cash assistance, help with insurance navigation, and free clinical assessments.
The team at PH is composed of caring individuals who are passionate about their work, and aim to create opportunities for those in need.

I followed Project HEAL for a very long time during my eating disorder recovery. They provided so much information and resources that helped me feel seen. Once I recovered from my eating disorder, I became a Project HEAL Ambassador, and was able to give back in such a meaningful way. Project HEAL is the only nonprofit in the United States that gives free treatment to their beneficiaries. Not only do they give cash assistance, treatment placement, insurance navigation, but now they have a new program where they have culturally competent, clinical assessments. All of this is free for their beneficiaries.

Project HEAL is a great organization that I have utilized quite a bit in the past 5 years or so! They are so supportive in trying to expand access to eating disorder care, which is so so important in this day and age. Thank you Project HEAL!
