Mission: Partnering with a local non-profit in guatemala to provide work training, assistance in education, and healthcare to widows/single mothers and their children living in poverty
Programs: Work training program: 10 single mothers/widows were served in the program. Program elements include hands on work training in agriculture, and cleaning 5 days a week for 49 weeks, hygiene and budget workshops, weekly personal counseling, stipend for alimentation of the family.
education program educational scholarships for 25 primary and secondary students. 10 scholarships in literacy and adult education for single mothers/widows. Expenses included: school charges, uniforms, daily nutritional snacks, essential school supplies and transportation costs. 18 primary and secondary students received after school tutoring to assist with homework, reading comprehension and mathematics.
feeding program: 6615 lunches were served in to 10 families of single mothers/widows (27 individuals) living in extreme poverty. These mothers lack the financial resources to provide essential nutrition daily for their families.
medical assistance, emergency medical assistance: three emergency operations were funded as well as healthcare for all program participants. (dr. Visits, labs, medications and therapies)
