Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health & Crisis Intervention
Mission: Project 375, inc. Is dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding surrounding mental illness and disorders and providing behavioural and mental health support to those who need it most, where and when they need it.
Programs: There has been an increased interest in the mental health community, which has allowed project 375 to continue a very important national dialogue about those affected by mental health issues. Dialogue like this raises awareness, and in turn, decreases stigma. Mental health is an essential part of children's overall health and directly affects their ability to succeed in school, at work and in society. We believe early prevention and intervention will save lives, and through our program, project prevent, we respond to the needs of children and adolescents, introducing technology driven support and providing parents, teachers and staff members with youth mental health first aid training. Project 275 has forged partnerships with a plethora of institutions. Through our project prevent initiative, the organization has teamed with the jets foundation and the public schools athletic league, which provides opportunities for educating students in physical fitness, character development, and social skills, through athletics; to offer over 3,000 students the lucid mental health training application. Working with the lurie children's hospital and thrive nyc, project 375 has also expanded the programs engagement with youth supporters - like parents, teachers and school administrators - with over 22 ymhfa training sessions, 10 being administered during the 2016-2017 school year. Our goal is to create improved access to care for students most at risk and in need of mental health services, as well as ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students everywhere. Change starts with project 375, inviting every individual to be a part of the conversation and empowering youth to proactively take charge of their own mental fitness.
