There are many wonderful nonprofit programs that offer services; however, Project 180 is the only one of its kind that will give former offenders a second chance to rebuild their lives, and most importantly -- stay out of prison. I truly believe that as a board member it’s imperative not to duplicate any other service, but rather provide a return on a donor’s investment. The success of Project 180 comes from the practical tools they will offer—education, job training and social support in a long-term clean and sober living environment. This support will allow former inmates to break away from criminal activity and the destructive aspects of prison life and increases public safety for everyone. I hope those reading this will take the time to learn more about this program and how it can be used as a model for stopping the cycle of crime and violence.
