I have served on the PROGRAM's Board for six years. The organization provides housing, counseling, and life skills to women and children involved in the criminal justice system. Additionally, the employees who serve the women given them love, encouragement, and confidence - often it is the first time that the women have experienced these positive supports. Women who receive services from the PROGRAM have a far lower recidivism rate than those who do not.

Over the past thirty years I have had the pleasure of working with The Program through the criminal justice system. This agency has always been a non profit agency, so must often struggle to obtain funds to keep the program running. They somehow always managed and were able to provide quality programming to women in prison and the community. They have a dedicated staff that has a difficult clientele. Over the years they have grown from simply providing life skills to women in prison to experience in running a family center, to operating a community center, and a halfway house. Their presence in the community is well received and appreciated.

As part of an overall church service project to help Women in Prison in and their Families I got involved with The PROGRAM to volunteer the help of my IT skills, fixing computers and installing computer networks for the organization.

I am proud to contribute my time and talent to an agency that has been helping the local community for over 30 years. The PROGRAM brings a wealth of experience and provides needed counselling, rehabilitation, educational and inspirational opportunities for incarcerated women who are returning to the workforce and other potentially under-served populations in the local community.

I have always believed in the power of technology to provide tools that help people achieve their potential. I am proud to have helped build a computer lab at two facilities managed by The PROGRAM to help women gain basic computer skills, assist in the search for employment and allow them to gain experience and guidance while interacting with others as they prepare to re-join the workforce.

Our agency has worked with The Program for Female Offenders for 14 years. I believe that this organization was established and dedicated to helping women become productive members of society through their many programs offered. The compassionate and caring staff make this organization successful in completing their mission with not only helping the women but their families.
