Mission: Pro Bono Counseling's mission is to remove barriers and provide relief by connecting Marylanders to mental health support.
Results: Founded in 1991, Pro Bono Counseling (PBC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to ensuring accessible mental health care for Marylanders with limited resources. By connecting individuals and families with licensed volunteer mental health professionals, PBC provides free counseling for concerns such as stress, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. PBC’s vision is to make quality mental health care available to all in Maryland. With a network of more than 900 licensed volunteer counselors specializing in diverse areas, PBC offers services statewide—both in person and via video conferencing. In the past year alone, volunteers donated more than 12,000 hours of counseling to 1,817 clients across the state. Additionally, PBC operates a WARMLine, staffed by trained mental health professionals, providing immediate support and connecting callers to essential resources.
