Nonprofit Overview

Mission: Prison fellowship ministries is an expression of the church, bringing peace to a broken world through works of grace, acts of justice and telling truth. The colson center lives out this mission by building and resourcing a movement of christians (see schedule o, page 42)

Programs: In-prison ministry: in fy 14 prison fellowship served the incarcerated population at more than 1,360 prisons and jails, bringing programs including mentorship, bible studies, life skill classes, evangelism events and family restoration activity. More than 24,500 prisoners attended 247 one-day evangelism events in prisons, connecting prisoners with the opportunity to register for our in-prison programming. More than 15,700 volunteers and staff are helping us deliver bible studies, mentoring and reentry support at 470 prisons and jails. (see schedule o, page 42)

worldview ministry and public education: as a program of prison fellowship, the colson center seeks to build and restore a movement of christians committed to living and defending the christian worldview through proclaiming the truth, training christian leaders, and resourcing a movement through coalition building with like-minded organizations. The program was founded by chuck colson and includes online newsletters, radio programs, leadership programs and dvd study series.

international prison ministry: pfm makes grants to pfi whose mission is to engage the christian community to pursue justice and healing in response to crime to the end that offenders are transformed, relationships are reconciled, and communities are restored. Prison fellowship international works in over 125 countries to bring lasting transformation to prisoners and their families by helping share the gospel and provide humanitarian aid.
