Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Children & Youth, Foster Care, International, International Relief

Mission: Prince Ministry in South Africa exists to support The Fold, SA Children's Home which has been registered as a private hostel in South Africa. We currently have 24 children in our care. These are children of various backgrounds, but none of them had any type of a future. They now have love, good nutrition, and a good education to enable them to have a future. We hope they will make a difference in their country. These children are in individual homes with no more than 8 children per home, with a house mother to take care of them.

Results: September 2016 was our 6th anniversary of our first child to move into the Fold. We now have 3 homes which are full. We also started our own private school in 2016, which has creche up to the ninth grade. We need to raise the funds for our additional teacher in 2017 who covers up to the 9th grade.

Target demographics: children to have a better life, good nutrition and a better education

Geographic areas served: South Africa

Programs: 3 individual homes with 8 children in each home. plus our own school up to ninth grade.

Earlier this year I was able to spend nearly 3 months at The Fold setting up a computer lab in the school to enhance the educational opportunity of these children. I also had the time to really get to know the children and listen to their hopes/desires for their future. Without Prince Ministry and The Fold, these dreams would not exist, and could not be cultivated. These children are being given every chance possible to make an incredible life for themselves, and their future families. I have really come to love everyone of them.

I volunteered at The Fold through Son Safaris in May and June 2017. What amazing group of people!! Paul, Mickey, Philip and Rheta definitely have hearts for all these children! I had a wonderful time there and was amazed to see the love and caring for each individual
child at The Fold.

I have been aware of The Fold for a while now, and I was so amazed by their story that I just had to go. What they are doing for the children there pulls on my heart strings, so in October, I will be traveling there to serve. I am looking very forward to meeting the children and working for this wonderful organization. They have done amazing work there and could use the support of anyone who has a heart for the work that they are doing!

I had the opportunity and the privilege to volunteer at the Fold, once a week for 5 months last year and what an honour that was! It was evident that the 'du Plessis' and the 'Princes' have huge hearts towards the children and showered each child with so much love and affection. The impact that this organisation is having on the children's lives will set them up for life, allowing them to go so much further than they ever would have before. While being there I fell in love with each child, playing games, doing dramas and art activities with them. It was amazing to see the work they were doing within the school and providing the kids with education and the hearts of the teachers. The house set up is great as it allows every child to feel like they are part of a home and the mums are just awesome! Praying and cheering you guys on and I look forward to seeing you again sometime in the future!

The Prince Ministry at The Fold is an exceptional program. They give the children in their care love, security, good food, and make sure they get a good education. I f you have never been to South Africa before you must consider going to this ministry. Even you can only stay a couple of weeks you can meet the children and talk to Micky and Paul about their ministry. You can help the children with their school work or even just play with them and get to know them. They have a wonderful school that they recently have built right on their property. If are looking for a ministry to support please consider this one.

We keep n contact with this ministry and the more we hear from them we grow deeper in love with them. We are planning a trip visit them soon. They give so much one on one with the children under their care. They teach then they are loved not only by them, but by their heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. They do an excellent job of sending pictures and keeping us informed. I feel that I am almost right there with them. We work on our church missions board and I can tell you that not all missionaries keep you as well informed.

It has been amazing watching The Fold grow in leaps and bounds, doing amazing things with the little they have.... imagine what they can do with even more. Nothing gets wasted at the Fold, they try to be as economical as possible and as self sustaining as possible. It is great to see how these people always put the needs of the children before themselves

"When we arrived for the first time to serve at The Fold I felt like I was home." These were the precious words of one of my college students who served with us. The environment created by Paul and Mickey to provide a safe Christ-filled home and opportunities to get an education for the children living at the home is impeccable. The love and guidance shown to the kids is beautiful. For us as a partner which brings teams to help with day to day life at The Fold they truly allow us to help. Our teams work hard, get hands dirty, and love on the precious kids. We absolutely look forward to a lifetime relationship with The Fold, because it feels like home.

The Fold is an amazing place that has a really big vision for the kids. They have so much love, and it really feels like a home. It was a pleasure getting to volunteer with them and I hope I'll someday get the chance to in the future. What a beautiful ministry!
