I love what this sanctuary provides for these majestic animals. The fact that they don’t exploit these animals by having tours where people can see them tells me they really are out for what is best for the animals. The pictures they send are proof enough that the sanctuary is well maintained. I only wish I could donate more money.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is a reputable wildlife care place. I always enjoy hearing news from them and admire beautiful pictures of their animals captured in their calendar. I am an occasional donor.
I am not an American but am Australian, and have been supporting PrideRock on a monthly basis for years. They really take great care of all the Animals they have, I especially adore the large cats, their yearly Callander and all.
PrideRock Wildlife Rufuge is such a wonderful forever home for the animals under their care. I’ve been a fan for years! Love how they share when the animals are playing in their tubs of water or enjoying their enrichment treats. Also playing with their barrels or other toys. These are beautiful animals with loving and caring people giving the best lives they could live. You can tell how happy the residents are by the pictures and videos shared on their Facebook page. Love all PrideRock does to care for them. I also like that they don’t profit from or use the residents, they just let them live out their lives happy. Thank you PrideRock for all you do! Sherri Harper
I am a new donor to PrideRock. Last year, I researched exotic animal rescue groups and chose PrideRock on National Giving Day 2019 and both fund raisers in 2020. They mailed me a beautiful thank you letter all 3 times and invited me to visit their sanctuary. Who does that these days? My goal is to visit their sanctuary when COVID virus is contained. I will say I donated my entire stimulus check to many diverse charities in March. So many organizations took a big hit so I wanted to pay my good fortune forward. My heart wants to volunteer, even if it once a week. Love showing the animals how much I care about then. PrideRock will be an annual donation from now on. I will Continue helping these magnificent Animals and pray that get more money this year.
As an animal lover I have chosen to donate what I can to Animal Rescue Organizations. I learned about PrideRock Wildlife Refuge on the TV news after moving to Dallas, Texas. I liked knowing that they are a caring, legitimate organization. I have donated over these 15-20 years as I was able to help in a small way. I particularly have always been drawn to Large Cats and have rescued the small feral house cats myself. I hope to visit one day. It's not far and I shall push to do that soon. I appreciate the volunteers and caretakers who work so hard to make the animals lives enriched and safe. Thank you.
I follow PrideRock and am a monthly supporter. They really care about the animals In their sanctuary and keep me updated on things they are doing to improve the lives of the animals.
I really I fell in love with this sanctuary through their Facebook posts. They do such a good job of photographing the cats, giving you details about their daily lives, and generally educating the public about the issues big cats face.
I love PRIDEROCK and what they do for the animals they have been able to provide a great home to. I just love the shirts and calendars that I have from them. I picked up a hat and some wild animal toys for my grandkids, and rhey just love them. Thanks Priderock for all you do, keep up the great work.
I love what they are doing for all the animals in their care. All the big animals that have been rescued or just taken in, are very well taken care of and always look very happy. I really enjoy being able to see all the wonderful pictures that they post. Love this place!!!
I am grateful there is a place like PR. They really care and treat the residents with love and respect. When I donate to them I know in my heart my money is going to a cause close to my heart. The people of PR are not just employees, they have a calling to be there.
Also I love giving as much as I get in return
The photo is a self portrait from Big Mike! One of my favorite Tigers at the moment. It is hanging with love in my front room
I ordered some merchandise from Pride Rock for my Grandkids. After doing so I realized I had made a mistake on the number ordered. I messaged them & they called me on the phone & spoke to me like we were old friends & got it all straightened out.
When I was an intern at PrideRock, staff showed true compassion for the animals' well-being. Not only did everyone meet standards, they went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a clean tubs and pools, enclosures, and drinking water. Everyone who showed up at PrideRock truly cared about the animals and gave each of them a better life.
Priderock is a true labor of love, the animals are exceptional well taken care of and happy to be living there lives at priderock.
I've been to classes out at Priderock and have personally met everyone which was a high honor and I felt so privileged and proud, and the work they due humbled me...
The owners and staff are truly amazing....
Its beautiful out there, and this is my favorite charity to which I give....
love and hugs to the Priderock Team....
I've had privilege to attend classes/support out at the Priderock Sanctuary and see first hand the dedication and commitment and love that Carol and Gary have given over the past 20 years is undeniable a true blessing and labor of love.
To see the growth of the Wild life refuge and the love and perfection to each and every step of the facilities you see the love.
The facility is so beautiful and well maintained, its awesome.
Yes, they have tigers, lions, bears, wolves, cougars, and yes a hyena....All beautiful and loved.
Its very peaceful there and they are so loved. Yes, I'm amazed by this place. ITS a True Labor of Love..... Gorgeous place & filled with hard sweat, blood, tears and pride and more love than i can express......xoxoxxo
I was an intern there and they allowed two tigers to breed even though they weren’t a breeding facility. The first time there were two cubs, and they died. Then they allowed them to breed again and told the public it was an accident so that the owner could have a baby tiger to raise in her house when she took it from the mother. This place is only a nonprofit to make it legal for them to own tigers because the founder is obsessed with them.
This is slanderous and no part of it is true. There was an accidental breeding before we could separate the cats. We do not breed and it most certainly was not created because of an owner's obsession. Read our mission on our website. Being in the public eye, there is always going to be someone that holds a grudge and makes it public with untruths.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful and peaceful facility. Carol, Gary and the wonderful caregivers and volunteers pour their heart and soul into the property and caring for the animals they rescue and protect – they are all wonderful guardians for these beautiful animals. They have given old, unwanted, abused, confiscated and retired large cats, bears, hyena, wolf-hybrids and dogs a loving and caring forever home where their every need is met. The animals in their care will never be rehomed. They will live out their days on this earth being loved and cared for by the amazing owners and caregivers. Then, after they have drawn their last breath, they will be lovingly (and with many tears) laid to rest on the property they called their forever home. They are not open to the public and operate solely on funding through private donations. Please consider adding them to your philanthropic endeavors. PrideRock is a definite labor of love that can be felt from the moment you enter the property. Please support these folks and their wonderful efforts to give a forever home to some of our planet's most beautiful critters. They have my complete admiration and respect.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is an amazing place for wild animals in need. It is a secure location not open to the public and is perfect for wild animals in need. The love and care they receive daily is really something special. Any donation is appreciated and funds are well managed. . Gary and Carol started PrideRock 20 years ago and continue their compassionate commitment to their life-time residents. Just an awesome place where the animal always comes first!
I was FORTUNATE enough to find PrideRock when I expanded my search on VolunteerMatch, back in 2005 when I had plenty of time to spare. I volunteered my time to help clean, and gained SO much in return. Carol and Gary are amazing to have set up this sanctuary for big cats and wolves to live out their lives in peace and love. I was lucky to have some time to come back and volunteer for a day a few years ago and met Corey, their now full-time keeper. He's amazing with the residents. I'm so glad that I still get to follow their story on social media. All love, and I wish for them continued peace and success
I have learned so much from PrideRock Wildlife Refuge. I follow their facebook page daily, and have come to know the animals they care for, their personalities and all of the special things that PrideRock does to make their lives as comfortable as possible. I feel like they are part of my family and they have really opened my eyes and heart to the protection of different animal species. And I have a crush on one of their cats...Kumal xoxoxox
We love all the big cats, hybrid wolves, bears and hyenas at PrideRock Wildlife Refuge! The staff and volunteers do an amazing job caring for these animals!
PrideRock is a wonderful facility for our furry friends. It makes my heart so happy to see the enrichment programs they have in place. These animals are loved & cared for and they seem happy. Bless this place for providing a safe home for these animals to live out their lives.
I started working with PrideRock Wildlife Refuge at the beginning of September and have never enjoyed a job so much. It's so obvious how much Carol, Gary, and Corey care about these animals and how passionate they are about giving them the best lives possible. They take their jobs very seriously and it shows with not only how clean and safe the refuge is, but how comfortable the animals seem to be. Those animals truly are living their best lives at PrideRock.
I was lucky enough to meet Corey at the Terrell Jubilee and learn about this wonderful mission happening right in my hometown! I love the work PrideRock does and that their mission isn't to make money, but just to save and improve the lives of animals that had no choice about being born in captivity. Truly wonderful folks doing the Lords work
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is on a great mission to save and rehabilitate abused and neglected big cats, bears, wolves, etc.... Their facilities look well taken care of and you can really see the love and affection they have for the animals they take in.
Pride rock is amazing. They work so hard to provide for animals born in captivity and educate the public about them.
This non-profit came to my attention through a friend of mine and you can imagine my shock, as a dfw native, having never heard of it. The more information I sought about the refuge, the more impressed I was by their staff, sources, goals, and overall mission. They devote countless hours to create, maintain, and provide a home for a niche group of animals and they’re doing so out of pure love and care. It’s so obvious that this refuge is in it for the well-being of their residents and that’s what matter most!
PrideRock is a great place! They take amazing care of the animals. The employees LOVE their jobs and it shows! These precious, beautiful animals need all of the love, help and support they can get!
I came across this wonderful site on Fb..I have enjoyed all the stories and pictures of the furbabies that you have so graciously helped and given forever homes..The dedication and love especially...I live in Indiana but distance shouldn't matter when it comes to supporting such a worthy cause!!! I will donate for sure as I am able!
I have had a heart for nonprofit work all of my life. Finding PrideRock and learning what they do to ease the plight of big cats born into captivity has been life changing for me. The staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide a beautiful forever home for every creature on their land.
PrideRock is a true sanctuary. The residents are provided with kindness, appropriate nutrition, enrichment, and ensured a safe home for all of their lives. Every dollar donated goes directly to the care of the residents. Gary & Carol Holliman have dedicated their lives to the care of these animals. Cory Allison ensures only the very best care is provided and knows the animals, their personalities, and their needs.
PrideRock remains the one big cat rescue in which I have total confidence every dollar I donate, goes for the care of the animals. Gary & Carol Holliman continue to work at this labor of love - building more & bigger enclosures. They've invested in intern housing which allows more people to learn to care for and respect these wild & wonderful creatures. May God continue to bless all those involved in PrideRock Wildlife Refuge.
I was an intern at Pride Rock for the summer of 2017, and I LOVED it!!! The people there really care about the animals in their care and go out of their way to give them the best life possible. My experience there lead me to focus my major on conservation biology, and to make a life choice to stand up for all animals in need.
The owners of Pride Rock have always put the welfare and needs of their animals above their own. They are great people with huge hearts. You can feel confident that your donations absolutely go where they should. Wonderful sanctuary where animals are cared for and loved dearly.
Pride Rock Wildlife Refuge, Love their animals. It is apparent by the way the animals respond after they have been rescued. The animals blossom, it’s amazing how beautiful they become. The magnificent animals smile and pose for the camera. Which I think is marvelous . I save some of my favorite photos, just look at the love coming from these peaceful souls. They are truly loved. PRWR has been first on my newsfeed on face book for many years.
I love PrideRock Wildlife Refuge. They took me in and allowed me to interview them and film the animals for my YouTube show. Corey and Robyn were so gracious. Everyone on staff at PrideRock is informed, compassionate and committed. The animals they care for would have never had a chance without this amazing facility. The programs they offer for the community and for individuals are highly educational and accessible. I'm so fortunate to have found such a worthy place I can support. I will always support PrideRock!
Excellent facility with super sweet people that REALLY care for the animals and their wellbeing. They are very careful with the donations and provide forever homes for these rescues.
Closed to the public, the PrideRock Wildlife Refuge provides a uniquely wonderful home for abused and rescued big cats, bears, and other animals in East Texas. Most of these animals are rescues from circuses and private owner seizures, lovingly brought back to optimum health by the owners and staff through long hours of hard work and dedication.
Immaculately clean enclosures with enrichment features surround the property, and you simply cannot imagine a more loving, competent, and attentive staff.
Large animals require a great deal of funding to provide for them properly.
Please, please consider donating to this worthwhile endeavor. I did. You will find that the owners and staff are wonderful stewards of your donation funds, using them wisely and efficiently. You just simply cannot find a facility more worthy of your funding than PrideRock Animal Rescue.
I had the pleasure of being able to help at PrideRock and it is a memory I will always hold dear. The volunteers and workers that are there every day are committed to the health, love and well being of all of the animals at the sanctuary. I learned allot from being around the workers and Corey told us the stories for all of the residents there. The work they do is nothing short of a miracle. They have taken in these beautiful animals that have often been abused and neglected and shown them love and respect and given them a furrever home. While Leo will always hold a very special place in my heart I have become attached to all of the magnificent animals that reside there.
It takes a very special kind of person to devote their lives to caring for those others are willing to throw away. Carol and her crew go above and beyond to provide for the magnificent creatures. They are not just a mission to them they are a life choice. Carol treats all of them like they are her children and insists the same from her helpers. I have a respect for the people there that words can not express. Bless Carol and everyone involved with this wonderful organization.
This place is awesome!! My mom has been volunteering there for over a year. I love to hear stories and one day I want to work at PrideRock.
I first heard about PrideRock in 2016, and have followed them very closely since. I am amazed at how such a wonderful organization was in my midst and I had no clue! I have had the opportunity to meet the founders, the keepers, volunteers and interns from PrideRock. All have hearts as big as the state of Texas and nothing but love and respect for those they care for.
I am amazed by the number of people who still think that these incredible predators should be pets, and the things they do to them before throwing in the towel and leaving them incapable of self sufficiency in the wild but with a need for space and care that is not widely available.
Without PrideRock - where would their magnificent residents end up - this is not a pleasant thought.
PrideRock is a wonderful organization that rescues big cats and 3 bears to live out their lives in a peaceful happy place. I have been a supporter and donor since 1998 when I first heard about them and I also help volunteer at some of the events to help raise awareness for the animals and to raise money for items needed for the continued betterment of their lives.
The volunteers and staff are wonderful caring people - so happy to support PrideRock!
Pride Rock Wildlife Refuge provides a critical and much-needed sanctuary for all types of large cats, bears, wolves and even a hyena! They are community-minded, responsible and active. The life-long care they provide for these abused and neglected animals that cannot survive in the wild is essential. I am proud to support their efforts and applaud their dedication to this cause.
I interned at this facility a few years ago. They take amazing care of the animals, and the staff truly do love each and every animal. This facility is an amazing refuge for exotics (mainly cats), many of which have been mistreated or come from sad situations. They are dedicated to giving their animals the best lives possible, and are not open to the public, and do not breed-so the owners are clearly not out for any sort of profit or personal gain! Every penny counts, if you can, please give!
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I went to PrideRock but it FAR exceeded any expectation I could have ever imagined. The animals are beautiful, the facility and grounds are spectacular and the staff is awesome. It is a totally peaceful, wonderful place and I was so honored to be able to visit. It is quite obvious how much the staff LOVES all of the animals and how being part of PrideRock is the center of their lives. I have the utmost respect for them and I'm so thankful they do all they do to give those beautiful animals such wonderful forever homes.
I recently attended a class at Pride Rock. I was so impressed with how well the grounds are taken care of. The owners, employees and volunteers work really hard to make the place look beautiful even though it's a closed to the public facility. You can tell the animals are well taken care of as well. They are all so very happy and relaxed. They are in a very loving environment. I've visited other facilities and none of them are as beautiful and peaceful as Pride rock. Looking forward to the next class.
I had the honor to attend a class at Priderock.
I was amazed and in awe over the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
The dedication, commitment and love that i observed is a true labor of love by Carol and Gary and Corey they pour their hearts & souls into this facility and it shows.
PRIDEROCK is a forever home sanctuary for exotic animals. They are strictly funded by donations, Please support them!
Bless the exotics animals and Gary & Carol, Corey, its truly a amazing place, filled with love & a true safe haven.
The animals are truly at peace and well cared for.
I was hired by PrideRock Wildlife Refuge in May 2016. I loved big cats and knew I would love being around them but never imagined the impact they have on my life. I never thought I would see a white tiger taking a bubble bath or a black bear playing in a pool. The animals receive the best of care and are given many enrichment activities to stimulate their mind and body. Without Carol and Gary Holliman creating PrideRock more than 20 years ago, many of these animals, if not all, would have been euthanized. PrideRock is a great place to work, volunteer and intern with. Long live PrideRock.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is one of the best sanctuaries I have seen. The grounds are clean and well-landscaped, the animals are well taken care of and the staff is dedicated and hard-working. PrideRock provides unwanted big cats and other wildlife with a forever home in a peaceful and quiet environment for the rest of their lives. The sanctuary began with one wolf and one large cat by a couple who found a need to rescue abused lions, tigers and cougars. Today, it is still a labor of love demanding much sacrifice and dedication.
Priderock is truly a sanctuary for animals that need to be rescued and given a forever home. Gary and Carol along with volunteers and staff make this a wonderful place for animals in need. Great place and truly a safe haven for animals.
PrideRock serves such a special need and purpose. They provide a forever home to over two dozen lions, tigers and cougars as well as other animals in need. In many cases, had PrideRock not been available these animals would have would have met an untimely demise.
Carol and Gary have dedicated the better part of their lives making sure PrideRock provides a safe, loving home to all animals they take in. It takes very special people to fulfill the massive commitment these very special animals deserve and I wholly support their efforts.
PrideRock is an important refuge for big cats that need a permanent home. Carol's and Gary's commitment to these wonderful animals is unwavering and they are very fortunate to have found PrideRock as their home. It is hard to image a more worthwhile cause to support.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is such a beautiful and peaceful facility. This is truly the most amazing place! The folks here are such wonderful guardians for these beautiful animals. They have given old, unwanted, abused and retired large cats, wolves, wolf-hybrids and dogs a loving and caring forever home where their every need is met. They operate solely on funding through private donations. Please consider adding them to your philanthropic endeavors. They accept donations through PayPal on their website - Priderock.org, and also have a wish list of items needed which is located under the "How to Donate" tab on their homepage. They have my complete admiration and respect.
I volunteered here from 2009-2010, I had to move away for awhile am now back and WOW! Every donation to these animals went to such great use. We always try to keep the animals happy. Gary and Carol really are just trying to give these gorgeous animals a better life, and believe me, they are.
(pictures below are of other places I volunteered, or personal pets. I do love animals, and Gary and Carol treat their beloved animals in the best way possible)
A great location with knowledgeable and caring staff.
Gary and Carol Holliman have the biggest hearts to take in these beautiful creatures. The lions, tigers, cougars, bears, wolves and even the many dogs they have adopted that make up this refuge are loved and well taken care of.
Carol, Gary and all the other workers and volunteers have made this facility and the animals they care for a wonderful place. There is so much love and dedication to their animals.
PrideRock is an amazing place where lions, tigers, mountain lions, bears and a hyena now call their forever home. I was fortunate to get to see this wonderful place up close when I attended an animal related workshop being held there. Many of these animals were used by humans to make a profit or kept as an exotic pet by people who didn't know how to care for them properly. Many of them have very sad, tragic stories. These animals should never have been taken out of the wild to begin with. Since they can not be released, having no knowledge of how to hunt for food, sanctuaries like this are a must. The love that I felt the day I was there from both the animals and the caregivers was amazing. These animals are well cared for and lead enriching lives. There wasn't the pacing etc you often see in zoos. The atmosphere was different. I heard noises coming from the cats and saw behaviors one never sees when they are held in captivity on display for humans. It is a beautiful place and deserves as much support as they can get, so they can build better bigger enclosures and feed all these wonderful critters who have been fortunate enough to come and live here.
I had only been to zoos to see any wild animal. Then, I met Carol. I went to PrideRock in 2009 for the first time. I was blown away and in awe of these magnificent creatures, especially the tigers. I met Damien (RIP) and all the others in an afternoon that I didn't want to end. The sheer power of their private "calls" to one another and their large presence just astounded me. I learned what happens when you neuter a Lion, he looses his mane plus many more things I didn't know. Although they can never return to the wild they seem to be quite at home and understand this. You can hear the roars when you get closer and it it awesome! I have been back 2 more times and hope to visit many more. Brenda Blake, Dallas, TX
I know these people & Carol has loved, worked with & saved animals her whole life. This is her passion, love & purpose! I have made donations here & will continue to. The work they do is not easy & not everyone is cut out for it. It takes a large amount of time, patients & money for this to work. These magnificent animals come to them needing love, attention, medical attention & understanding. Through donations it can continue to flourish & these wonderful beast can live without fear of being abused, or neglected. Honor someone, or in memory of someone by donating or do so because you love animals!!!
I have seen this group again and again volunteer to take in large cats and other wild animals to give them a safe environment to live in. Last year, they took in a li-liger cub that developed a serious illness probably due to the cross breeding. Their dedication night and day to trying to save the cub's life was truly inspirirational. The cub did not survive but it was not due to a lack of care on the part of this great staff.
The knowledge and love of wild animals of these people had inspired in me a desire to do more to save our beautiful amazing wildlife. Pride Rock is a refuge that also works to educate the public. Something that is truly needed
Carol and crew are absolutely amazing! The love and concern that they provide each one of their fur babies, is stupendous! Love this place and these folks!
The only way for me to describe PrideRock is complete serenity and peace...It is breath taking from the moment I pull onto the property. Truly, good for my soul and hands down one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. One of my longest best friends (with permission from Carol) gave me the opportunity to volunteer and clean enclosures (aka scoop poop) and join her for enrichment. I have been back to volunteer every week since. I was told there will be my "favorites" and "they will choose you"; all true and Diego (Baby D-Lion) and Toro (the "shy" black bear) have stolen my heart. I love them all in their mighty greatness and will continue too, as often as possible and allowed. Grateful, honored and humble.
Carol and Gary have dedicated their lives to these magnificent animals. My wife and I have been supporting their refuge for over 20 years and plan on continuing to do so. Anyone passing by this area should plan on visiting the animals. It will be an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. Bring a Camera as there will be photo opportunities every where you look. If I could, I'd give it a ten star rating.
My wife and I first went to Priderock some 20 years ago. It was such a pleasant experience that we returned as often as possible, bringing family members and friends over the years. One friend even became a volunteer. The animals are healthy and beautiful to see.The photography opportunities for cat lovers are so abundant, that it's hard to keep from running out of film. We've been assisting financially as often as we can,as it's a big expense to feed so many hungry animals. Anyone who might read this note, don't pass up an opportunity to go see the cats. You'll never forget the the day you were there.
PrideRock is an amazing sanctuary for the animals to live in. Gary and Carol have given so much to these animals, and they continue to be their passion. I have had the privilege of volunteering there, and know the animals are treated with the utmost care and love. Although I do not go out there anymore, the animals will always have a special place in my heart.
Priderock Wildlife Refuge is a wonderful place doing wonderful things. The animals are beautiful and everyone is so nice. They are an outstanding organization.
