Mission: Prevent Human Trafficking (PHT) is a DC based non-profit working to build a bridge between South East Asia and the United States to prevent human trafficking. PHT empower individuals, organizations and governments to tackle the root causes of human trafficking through direct support and technical assistance. PHT uses its expertise and networks to promote best practice and inspire sustainable solutions in the movement to prevent human trafficking.
Target demographics: Over the past fourteen years, Prevent Human Trafficking has provided training, support, technical assistance and education programs to individuals, organizations agencies, and governments tackling the root causes of human trafficking.
Geographic areas served: Washington D.C and Southeast Asia
Programs: Since, 1999, our organization has prevented thousands of men, women, and children from being trafficked and helped advocate for legislative change—namely the Flagship Law, Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000. Our pilot programs have proven that micro credit and scholarships are key to keeping youth out of reach of traffickers. Additionally, we have provided hundreds of internships and summer study programs to US and international students of all ages.
