Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Eye Diseases, Blindness & Vision Impairments, Health
Mission: Our mission is to prevent blindness and preserve sight. Focused on promoting a continuum of vision care, we touch the lives of millions of people each year through public and professional education, advocacy, certified vision screening training, community and patient engagement programs, public health research, and more.
Results: Half of all blindness is preventable, and we work with individuals from children to adults to address this issue. Access to a pair of glasses is shockingly still a challenge for far too many, even in the United States. Our work tackles this inequity, while at the same time focusing on many other vision conditions. We provide eye screenings for more than 1 million people each year and reach millions more with our education materials and eye health advocacy.
